Hi Yoni, I had a knee replacement 6 weeks ago and it’s been a disaster - still sooooo much pain and using cane and walker, flexion only 75 so will need manipulation. Started using my Rush 360 light and family is rolling their eyes…..I’m using it for 10 minutes at about 8 inches away. Sure wish I’d started it right away but better late than never I guess. Thanks for your helpful videos.
Excellent presentation on what are the most efficacious means of healing subsequent to surgery (i.e., Hip Replacement). One of your best fans, Ronald Klein, PhD/Psychologist
Told not to weight bear on left leg after bc they found another fractured place although stable. I have continued doing no weight bearing. Weird I only had positional pain from original fall or hip replacement. At therapy down to one day week bc not much to do with surgeon’s orders. After Aug 22 will pick up again. They have used near infared ,electrical stimulation and cold. Along with exercises and I do at home too with the limitations about no weight bearing am allow to go to RR and much better walking. I go to get my hair done and therapy. I sit outside in Sun for 30 minutes also.
Treatment times will vary depending on the power output of the device your using and the distance of the target tissue from the device. Typically with skin treatments, the device is farther from the body/face so times are little longer. This study on acne therapy used 15 min treatment times - pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/20166163/
Suggestion: I have trouble standing straight yet relaxed, no matter if I can keep my head straight. My lower back and shoulders want to droop whenever I don't pay active attention to them and tense muscles trying to straighten them. This is especially true when I am at all tired. Any suggestions?
Great question, Paula! Here's a re couple of interesting articles. 1) Using NIR light therapy for eye disease - www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7738953/ 2) Using nutritional strategies to prevent cataracts - www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC6566364/
Good question, Christine. Here's what I could find on that topic: "Pacemakers, metal implant prosthesis, and internal fixation screws: For patients with pacemakers, implants or screws, laser therapy is not contraindicated. Pacemakers are electronic and encapsulated in metal and therefore cannot be affected by light." energy-laser.com/the-history-of-laser-therapy/ A very thorough list of devices/procedures that can interfere with pacemakers can be found here: www.heart.org/en/health-topics/arrhythmia/prevention--treatment-of-arrhythmia/devices-that-may-interfere-with-icds-and-pacemakers
