agree, they have a lot of thing on common, they start as friends who go to movies and speak about books and spend a lot of time together, actually, is the most realistic couple on GG, deserve a bette ending
@@space935 it means that their journey took a while. a slow burn is a couple that takes several seasons (or books/movies) to make it to the place where they are actually an official couple.
Exactly, putting Dan and Serena back together was forced their worse than Ross and Rachel lol. Ross and Rachel made sense though. Dair was real and sweet and caring. They always had a connection. Plus they were funny. They should have their own sitcom hahaha.
star of his novel. And we're shown clearly that he had strong feelings for her in that alone. He showed her a sort of serious devotion that we have never seen him. He did so much more for her than anyone else. And they are so good together too. I always noticed in the series and Blair had an intellectual streak that no one else nurtured not even Chuck. Dan appreciated her for things that everybody else had overlooked. Their entire relationship seemed out of the league of Gossip Girl.
And It Gets Worse Yes! Dair transcends the show because they’re a healthy, stable couple of intellectual friends that bring out the best in each other. But if the show is about the ridiculousness of the UES and about vindictive people who don’t grow much but get everything they want anyway, then Chair *is* the show. Dair as endgame (and Dan not as GG, bc that made zero sense) would have communicated a better message than the ending we got. I used to ship Chair as a teenager, and it’s only by rewatching in my early 20s after actually being in a long term relationship do I see that Chair is effed and Dair makes sense >.
i really think is crazy how much the gg fandom hates this realationship between dan and blair i think they're the best couple and the best friendship of the whole series, i still like chuck and blair and all that but dan and blair have a space in my heart really like them both together
So I'm very confused as to what happened with Dan and Blair and why the writers decided to end them so abruptly. They had been building up their relationship for a LONG time and it was very well done. They're clearly the best romance of the show. The had the most stable friendship throughout the course of the entire series. To even try and make it seem like Dan was just using her to fill the void left by Serena is ludicrious. His writing is the truest reflection of himself and he made Blair the
The show was ending and Chair had a big fandom at the time so it was what most of the fans wanted. Fanservice it didn't make sense for the character growth or direction though Blair was Dan's soulmate and the idealistic "Serena's my dream girl" Dan was so high school. Serena and Dan have nothing in common and their relationship doesn't even make sense in the long run. I wish they went with a true ending the show deserved not just Dair's endgame but for Rufus and Lily too. I can't believe they had her get back with Serena's dad after everything he put her through. Nate is the only one who actually grew and changed for the better at the end.
No matter what the endgame is, it’s pretty obvious that dair are soulmates. The healthiest and realest relationship in GG. *Georgina is such a wonderful “villain” ever 😂
Chuck always made her feel small and doubt herself, while Dan constantly went out of his way to make sure she knew her worth & felt appreciated for who she was and not who she thought she had to be. Dan was the endgame that she deserved. Their intellectual connection, their vulnerability with each other... I don't think either of them ever had that with anyone else. They were the only couple on Gossip Girl that 100% made sense and would've lasted in real life.
The ending of the video is my head canon as well. Dan showing Blair how much he cherishes her in such a thoughtful and sweet way. Something I don't think Chuck is capable of. Blair finally being "free" from her cycle of pain with Chuck. The writers honestly threw away gold.
Should have been run as the finale - definitely got the vibes from it 😂 Show Blair and the others finally free to make their own choices - pursuing their dreams.
Dan and Blair made so much sense. They hated each other first. He was the judgemental outsider and she was the confident insider. They both hated each other's guts and they both tried to be with people who brought out their worst sides. But then over the years the developed tolerance for each other but still kept bickering. Then developed mutual respect and friendship only to be connected by their interests. They were there for each other when there was no one or their supposed soul mates. And slowly they were just themselves and both fell in love without having to change at all. And finally when they both got the chance to be with their exes they said nah and chose each other. They should have ended with them together. Because the ultimate point is the upper east siders are humans just like everyone else. And to finish the show where Dan who judges entitled rich people falls for one Blair for who she was. Blair an entitled upper east sider falls for Dan who she wouldn't even talk to previously for who he was. They were not toxic, they respected each other and wanted them to grow. The story line perfectly fits season 1,2 enemies. Season 3,4 friends. Season 5,6 lovers. But it got ruined because of toxic and immature fans.
Dair was honestly the best relationship throughout the entire show. They weren't toxic but loved each other for who they were. They were genuine friends before they gained feelings for each other and you could always see the friendship in their relationship. Dan was also very devoted to her and loved her the way he never loved serena or Vanessa. He was so broken up when she chose chuck at the end too
This should have been the last true scene of the whole series. DAIR is the only true, nurturing and healthy relationship, a beautiful representation of how the real and good love looks like. They understand each other, they have fun together, they are truly each others soulmate. I was a Derena supporter before, however watching and re watching the whole series, it became clear that Dan and Blair belong to each other.
I hate how the writers ended the Dair relationship I wish there were more Chuck vs. Dan scenes in the series. And I hoped in the end, poor lonely boy Dan would still win Queen B's heart.
I love Chuck and Blair, but after Dan and Blair got together it was like the best thing to ever happen to them. They had a lot of chemistry, not all sexiness like Chair but it was sweet and romantic and funny. I honestly can't choose between these two pairs. I think Blair has great chemistry with anyone, to be honest. I'd rather see Dan with Blair than with Serena. I think Serena only looks good with Nate, because they're both needy and sort of promiscuous and when they got together, they stopped being like that. I am so sad that Dan ended up with Serena. As to Blair, I wish Chuck and Dan had fought for her longer. Ugh, this is so hard. Thanks for the videos! Loved every single one of them so much that I felt like watching the series again, since the beginning, I forgot most of the first season. By the way, the No. 2 was my favourite. I LOVE how they kiss and then Blair calls him Dan and he makes her repeat his name over and over. It was dreamy, I can't stop replaying it
As much I love Chair, I do really enjoy these two together, Dan and Blair had actual development in their relationship. I think Blair is a great with both of them.
There love story is how people fall in love in the old days. Dan is perfect for Blair and Blair is perfect for Dan. The type of love story that will stand in the test of time. Very Jane Austen
I remember towards the ending of season 3 things got boring for me, and I wanted to quit watching this. I later read reviews, people ranking the best to worst season and season 4 was apparently the second best. They weren't kidding. Everyone hated season 5 because of this relationship but I thought it was one of the best things to happen to the show. It's so refreshing and new. I just hate how short lasting this was and how fast Blair moved on.
other then gg pairing up everyone in the show, just because that's what they do exception for chuck and serena, this was maybe the most interesting pair I've ever see n and I will always love them together
When you got so tired of being a Chair shipper and your heart hurt so much seeing them always walk away from each other. You would just want it light, easy, safe and predictable. Thats when you start shipping Dair instead. It's surprisingly refreshing.
Dair definitely had the most development in their relationship and as much I used to like Chair, I never got half as interested in their scenes as I am in the Dair scenes. Serena shouldn’t have ended up with anyone. She didn’t deserve anyone. Dair reminds me of Gilmore Girls with Jess and Rory. They have so much in common and connect intellectually on a level that nobody else understands. They understand each other really well and of course, they aren’t endgame. I like Chuck but I think I might be a Dan fan after all
Oh my goodness I know you commented this a year ago but I just needed to say this. I was literally scrolling through Jess and Rory videos on Insta and I came across a Dair video and I’ve only watched one episode of Gossip Girl ages ago so I was shocked that these two would ever be a couple. Now I’m binging their scenes cos I’m obsessed with their relationship and I just found it cool that you mentioned Jess and Rory because they’re also my favourite couple in Gilmore Girls. I can see why I like this couple now ahah they really are quite similar. They’re on the same intellectual level and make each other grow, unlike some people, looking at you Logan
@@cocopuppy5165 lol I stopped liking Chuck much at all after I commented this. I never thought I would like Dan and Blair but I really did. It was done well. On Gilmore Girls, I liked Logan when I was 9 but I still really liked Jess. The older I get, the more I can’t stand Logan and skip most of the episodes he is in. I love Jess. Heck, I love Milo, period.
@@mermer898 JESS SUPERIORITY ALL DAY 24/7. The problem is dair is literati on the intellectual side but on the sexual chemistry side its all chair. Jess/Rory was the best of both worlds and it still wasnt endgame ;_;
She literally used Dan to move on from her toxic relationship with Chuck and went back to him when he changed himself for her. Just like what happens in reality. Dair deserved better, Dan deserved better.💔
still mad about the ending Dan and Blair should have ended up tgt I mean come on he showed her how to love herself after everything *chuck put her through, they were honest with each other, connected on an intellectual level, and the way their relationship builds up was so much more realistic. Chuck and Blair are like the archie and veronica, they don't have much in common other than sex. Also Dan should not have been gossip girl that made absolutely no sense it should've been georgina tf and tbh I would've preferred if we never found out who gg was
I'll just pretend that the way this video ended is the way the show ended P.S. These three videos are amazing! It's been so long, I forgot how much I loved Dair! Thanks for reminding me xo
The longest love relationship. Blair isn't like Serena who is easy to love someone, Blair needs some times to fall in love, and when she's sure with her feeling, she stayed with the decision she made.
As much I liked Dan and Serena at the beginning and middle, I think these 2 were perfect with each other, I wish the writers at least kept them as close friends at the end instead of what they did.
Exactly. I like Dan and Serena in the beginning but Serena wanted to be the star everytime. Dan and Blair were different. They were equals and Dan always made sure she's the star because she always feel in the shadows of Serena and other people but not Dan's...
Blaire: I told chuck he didn’t have my heart anymore. Remember that blaire. Remember that. And #1: who put that smile on her face. I’ll give you one hint. Not chuck. Dan made her smile more than anyone. She did the same for him. Why writers why? Why Chair fans? Why?
that last one was one of the sweetest things I have ever seen on TV. Why did dan and blair break up again? (And no, I'm not talking about the writers, I'm talking about the characters)
Dan acting with Blair is Perfect. They had extraordinary chemistry. When Dan did scenes with Serena is lacked chemistry which is weird because they were dating in real life when doing this show. The power of acting. Love Dair but was rooting for Chair. There story while dark at times was more realistic. Love is never easy or uncomplicated. Blair is a phenomenal actress who can deliver perfect results with anyone she acted with. Her talent is undeniable. She carried this show. Blair W. My queen B glad you got your Girlpower on!! ❤️👏🌟
Penn said Blake (Serena) was his great kiss (when they were dating) and worst kiss (after they broke up). But I think he's a great kisser with Blair too 🤣
They spent many episodes since season 4 slowly build their relationship, and they are the healthiest relationship in the entire show, and you can see that they make each other better, I always consider them as the endgame
That last scene really should have been the series finale... endgame material right there. No human being with self respect would stay in a relationship with Chucky, and Blair definitely got to a place of self worth at the end of s5 before all went downhill and the writers succumbed to fanservice over cohesive and satisfying storytelling. Remember her saying "somewhere between being traded for a hotel and selling out for a crown I lost myself"... it literally points out how she wasn't being her true self with neither Chuck nor Louis. Dair in a nutshell was learning from each other, compromising, listening. They made each other better and no other relationship was as emotionally mature on that show. But it seems like people still aren't ready for that -discussion- fact which is disappointing. The continued glorification and romantication of abusive pairs makes me want to hurl, and when the clowns who support that go out of their way to criticise a mutually giving and healthy relationship like this one it makes me want to laugh. Shame they didn't have the integrity to just end it after five seasons or do as they please - instead of retconning a lot of the good writing just because of a sHiP and ruining both Dan and Blair in the process. No one needs more seasons if it's just gonna be badly written, well except the clowns who care about one thing only.
As i was watching the series i LOVED chuck and blair, but as soon as dan and blair got together i felt like it all made sense. The chemistry, the friendship, the passion, their enemies to lovers story was exciting and kept me wanting more, and him being ALWAYS there for her while she’s fighting falling for him is just a cherry on top. They really brought the best in each other, i was so confused but how their relationship’s ending was written, just rushed and brutally cut off they didn’t even go back to friends. I just saw someone say that the writers originally were going to make them endgame but because the fans were " crazy "about chuck and blair they had to switch back the direction. And honestly it makes sense if it’s true because i don’t think there’s no other explanation to why they didn’t end up together, I mean when she got got back with chuck for the last time i felt no chemistry, even lost the chemistry they had before. I mean come on just watch the say my name scene.
I love you from all my heart for posting these compilations. I'd been mourning over DAIR for such a long time and it is now that I feel mildly satisfied with all their feels. I really appreciate your effort. But it's strange how you didn't add the "You still have me" scene from 5x02. For me, that's one of the sweetest scenes ever!
They were the best couple in the series, can’t believe I was rooting for Blair x Chuck before when could’ve had this! He loved her differently, a love that’s a lot deeper then his love for Serena. They were perfect!
How tf would people call this relationship forced? They builded a perfect relationship only to be yanked away from us. You know what's forced? Dan and Serena at the point where they split up Rufus and Lily. I can rant on and on...
I really want to see the vow Dan wrote for Blair, if only it was shown or read on the series. I miss GG so much that I rewatch it on netflix this lockdown ^^
