I started a hybrid investing strategy a little over 2 years ago. By hybrid, I mean I trade short term in beat down companies, but I keep 100% of any earnings in shares that I hold as a long term investment. Up approx 75%, however absolutely had to DCA on most companies to get this return.

Hi. This is a great content. I follow IBD style trading which is more like a growth investing / momentum trading, but I trade value stocks too. I call it "turn around" play. It really does not matter to me what the method is called and framed whether it's CAN SLIM, Value Investing or something else. If I see a chance, I will give it a try. If my thesis is wrong, then I will stop out. Thank you for the great content!

It's definitely an endeavor that works better when being void of emotions but is especially hard when your money is attached to it. A series a of character traits that don't exist within the average person is required, obviously DCA and index funds make it an emotionless process for those incapable of doing what you do. Am trying sir, thanks for the tips.....

I remember Lumen. Dumb hyped stock and you fell for it. Doesn't matter if you DCA or not into bad stocks. For Walgreens, I'm not sure, maybe its like GE which was terrible. But it has recovered alot. Just took 20 years. If you had DCA from the bottom, you probably would have come out pretty good. Anyways, you can't apply one strategy for all stocks. Most importantly, it's a good company.

You're calling him dumb. But you're defending a business which is closing 25% of stores, has a mountain of debt. But won't cut their dividend and use the free cashflow to actually turn the business around.

@@aightm8 and what do you know? Did you check GE recently? I sold out a long time ago, but Walgreens was also a hyped stock at the time, amongst dividend investors. But I said maybe, don’t pretend you know the future of it. It’s a basic shop, it can turn around.

It's really not about making more than you lose. It's about making more than you lose AFTER TAXES and beating what the S&P gains after taxes. If your after tax gains don't beat the S&P's, then you should just invest in the S&P. Just my two cents.

TRADER BEWARE! I would say dont trade, just invest in the top companies in the long term. If you invest in a solid company and it drops 50% and business fundamentals are intact, you should be even buying a lot more shares than before. I kept DCAing into META when every idiot told that META is dead 😂 I ended up 3x my investment and that has been my best investment so far. And thats only META, I did the same with Google, Amazon, Microsoft, Adobe etc. PayPal is still the way to go for me and few more. I get what you are saying here but this is only applicable to risky stocks that you love buying and hoping they recover. You trade not invest. Thats your style and you should emphasize that you are a trader. You get in and get out, you consantly spend hours looking for new entries, put stop losses etc. I am not saying trading is good or bad, but your viewers should be aware of that! I would rename your channel to Patient trader.

It's easy to trade/invest when the market is booming. The market will quickly fix all your mistakes. Everyone thinks they are genius. Also when you just get lucky. Many just jumped into Tesla which almost went bankrupt. But they think they are geniuses.

@@thepatientinvestor9580 Some people have preconceived views, they see what they programed to see and there's nothing you could do to change their point of view. Love your videos. @@TheBooban Actually its opposite for me. I am very cautious during market highs like now. Only investing now in beaten down stocks like Nike, Starbux, Estee Lauder etc. It was a no brainer for me to invest in 2022. When all the idiots sold, I was buying heavily. Actually I got a 2nd job just to triple my annual investments. It paid me dearly in the end.
@AigarsLasmanis
@AigarsLasmanis 28 дней назад
@@thepatientinvestor9580 I didnt oppose to your statement. I wanted to emphasize more on when to DCA and how it worked for me. But you are right on risky stocks which you should only trade and not invest in. DCAing is not applicable to trading obviously. What you didnt address more is how do you know that business thesis has changed. Are those short term headwinds or critical business issues that will never be fixed. How long to wait… Are you gonna jump the ship on first troubles or be patient… I am not so sure that its so easy to understand. Going from a value stock till a value trap. I have fallen for these but I typically stay in the game and more times I was right than wrong. Guess it depends on your patience and stress tolerance.
