Ahhhh, the pellet world... It's amazing how many variables there are to using pellets! Been an airgun enthusiast for many years now, and the most important thing for me is accuracy, then put down power! We know every single barrel on air rifles tends to be different out there. And it's easy to understand why. The cutting tools/tooling used to "rifle" the inside when new cut differently, and after a certain amount of barrels the rifling/cutting tends to wear, therefore cutting less... So...this is why it is critical to test different pellets before buying "too many tins of one certain pellet that someone may have suggested at being the very best out there" Then finding out they shoot terribly out of your gun!! And even when you find "THE PELLET" you must consider paying attention to the machine "Dye/cast" numbers!! As the pellets tend to differ when made by a different machine= different dye number!! One small example is the following... Buy a tin of JSB Heavies 10.34gr, and get a tin of Cometa JSB Heavies 10.34gr... Both made by JSB, BUT different dyes/#'s After looking at them closely, you will find some differences with the naked eye, especially with the skirt thickness, and when you do the test to shoot at a target, you will find a remarkable difference especially in pellet fussy air rifles... There are different kinds of .177 pellets and any of them have their own unique features, but these ones is actually one of the best for hunting (if it's possible to speak about "hunting" with .177), checked.) P.s.: yeah and thanks for nice video by the way, as always

Great video but my choices are as follows nos 5 predator pollymags highly accurate; 4 metal mags both are very accurate but to light out off my sumatra .177; 3 H&N baracuda hunter 10.49 very accurate mushrooms well; 2 JSB monster13.43 again very accurate with knock down power and nos 1 is the JSB beast @16.2grains very accurate out of my sumatra and gets the job done. Special mention should be made of the sniper magnum 15.2 grains. These are my top five cheers
Crosman is using harder materials in their pellets. When I shot both Crosman and JSB pellets into a cloth pellet trap, I can always recover Crosman pellets with little to none deformation, not with JSBs since they are made from pure soft lead.
I'm sure this has been asked before but: Who is the presenter on Top five? My wife and I love watching her because she's humorous, cute and does a awesome job showing the viewer the 'top five' in an informative and fun way.
@@gismoogity just took down 3 squirrels in 3 days with these. I'm new to the air rifle scene and these were the first i bought. I'm interested in #1 on this list though. each was about 10 yards.. two body shots and 1 head shot and you're right.. if you hit them in the lung/heart area, they're done-zo in about 5-10 seconds.
JSB 14.3 in .177 was .5” groups at 25 yards out of a gamo whisper The weight brought the ridiculous FPS down from the 7.9 premiers which wouldn’t group at 1240 FPS but the 14.3 JSB pellets calmed it down to 925 much better groups
From all the testing I've done with various pellets, the H&N Terminators are at the top of my list, in both 177 and 22 cals. 👍👍 Destroyers weren't too bad, but those polymags.... nope, way down on the list. 3 inch groups at 20 meters compared to the Terminators making a single hole at the same distance.
The H&N terminator JSB exact 7.9 and crosman hollowpoint are best. And any domes under 10 grains.I use cheap ammo at minimum distance works perfect. Um an also break barrel and pcp isn't specified. Both will work for what I specified.Ed the Backyard Sniper Man😀✌
I’ve just done a ton of research on .177 pellets and none of these came up on the list??? Is that because this video is 2 years old and pellets are even better now? I’ve just spent $50 on a bunch of top rated pellets and none are these from the video.
This list is not just good style pellets. But also the pellets they choosen are of high quality. I noticed no Gammo pellets showed up. All flare no substance. What's the point of a poly mag if the pellets not round.
have to agreed to polymer tipped pellets...…..shot a chimpmunk in the arse with one(Gamo red fire from a Gamo Wasp Maxxim going around 1000-ish fps)....made it about 10 ft...dead.
Hi , i have bought SIG sauer mcx powered by CO2 now i am looking for pellets with a great penetration capability , which wouldnt cause any malfuncion of the gun
Very nice, Jacque. The UltraShocks are one of my personal faves. They do a great job out to 50yds. The Crosman Destroyer is another good one. But the Polymags do put it down. Keep up the great work, lady.

I've seen too many polymag and metalmag points fall off in the container and separate in ballistic gel. I have to remember that this list is over 2 years old. A lot has improved in the world of pellets.
There aren't very many. Perhaps the Airforce TalonP or the Evanix Rex. Pellets are going to be whatever is most accurate. Predator Polymags are one of the best hunting pellets.
Not happy with these choices for hunting... 1.Gamo Red Fire - 2.Polymag Predator - 3.RWS Power Piercing - 4.H&N Terminator are the pellets that i am using for rat hunting. (cal.177) The most accurate pellet are the RWS R10 Match (wadcutter pellet)... also used in the Olympic Games.
Waiting for top max 17Joule guns (bb, pellet .177, .22) In Poland we have stupid regulation and without permission we cannot just buy that kind of stuff...
I bought a few Berretta 92FS Nickel. One for my son and one for a friend (from you guys). Mainly for practice, and the beauty of the unit. Your comments on its ability to hunt small game in Idaho, and desider pellet would be helpful. Just getting into airgun depot...my favorite arm is les baer Thunder Ranch and a few others. But these units are fun...next purchase will be the FX Crown:)
I am using local made lead pallets for loacal made air guns.They shuld be accurate at 80 ft distance. But further they fall short of the target. Is your any pallet can take a target ( pigeon, patrige , dove and duck ) at 120 ft distance by any brand and any type of air gun?
The best huntint pellet in.177....in america...is...in the .22 and.25 ailse!!!!....the brits are surgical and precise with that caliber,we americans need overvikill.
I am 14 and I will be shooting rats in my dads work as a part time job. I bought those ultra shock heavy and those polymag pellets. I hope they will perform well because normal pellets were zipping thru those rats and not doing much damage (they were killing them but not fast).
Good luck. I think the best all around hunting pellet especially considering price is the H&N Hunter (not the Hunter Extreme). Super accurate and super expansion. This is assuming your using an PCP air rifle.

Thanx for you opinion, the only I am not agreed with you about JSB heavy. From my experince JSB Monster and JSB Beast are much more effective with same accuracy at hunting

@@jackh.3772 have take into account price per round equation. Do you know how many more pellets you can buy given same amount of money over the .17 cartridge. It’s not even close think about it.
How effective are they at 550fps on feral house cats? I live on a cane farm and have a huge feral cat problem. I have dropped one with Marksman pointed .177 at about 6m after dieseling a 550fps SPA B2-4 with a heart lung shot between rib 5 and 6, and it took off and dropped after about 50m. But I want to place clean head shots at +- 20m that will drop them right there. Your advice and insight is much appreciated. Thanks and respect from 🇿🇦

And my grandson can start plinking with the B2-4 springer. (Albeit with some assistance) Thank you to the channel and thanks to all the airgunners for your input
