The 4ks I have gotten this year that are new releases are Chinatown, Twister steel-book The fall guy steel-book, Rango , and Anchorman. I loved every movie The fall guy steel-book goes insanely hard and the movie is also great the Twister steelbook is cool too and Chinatown was and amazing movie they all looked great.
Twister 4K was REALLY nice, and yes that audio track was WILD. However, the scene between Paxton and Hunt (“you’ve never seen it miss this house and miss that house..”), the dialogue got REAL muddled for a moment in my viewing. Maybe because I’m only running a 5.1 mix and not a full Dolby Atmos setup? But the dialogue should still be coming through the center channel as normal… Maybe it was recorded funny because of all the rain? Or maybe some sound was getting lost in my 5.1 setup…. 🤷🏻♂️ Anyone else experience this?
im still having no luck getting twister on 4k. stores r still not selling it for whatever reason. i tried amazon. but the copy i got from amazon wasnt working. something was wrong with the disc so i had to returned it. hopefully stores start selling it soon. its july release date was falsely avertized
I'm the luckiest guy in the world because of amazon twister delay I bought the standard edition neither one will play in my magnater player every thing else does
That’s fine. It certainly wasn’t anything to ride home about. I think for a lot of folks it felt like a trip back to good clean fun Hollywood action. Something fun to have on in the background while you’re working around the house. Wife and I saw it in IMAX, and while it wasn’t anything we were raving about, some of the action sequences and visuals were very very fun. And it’s always nice to see Ryan Gosling doing silly stuff.
He clearly says he picks the titles based on image and audio quality. Film as an art is subjective. Just because you didn’t like the film doesn’t mean it doesn’t look spectacular in 4K.
@@jiblanco31 most of his critique is he doesn’t think audio was that great. I don’t know if it’s all that useful to do a top 5 for just a month based on A/V. Any given month is unlikely to have more than one or two. Idk if a movie being good or bad as entirely subjective nor do I necessarily agree making movies is even “art”. That’s a whole other question but I feel like most things getting dropped on 4k (from a catalog standpoint) are widely considered competent storytelling with a smattering of notoriously out there shit to keep it interesting. What your particular top 100 films would look like is undoubtedly subjective, I scoff at the idea that you can’t look at a movie and say “this was good or bad bc of xyz…” some shit is good but not something I’d be eager to watch and some stuff I enjoy watching I’m aware is actually quite bad.
I've compared the Sony a80l and the a95l and theirs not a huge difference in the 2. The a80l is half the price and offers bigger sizes. Imo I don't think the a95l is worth the price.
Number one failure in July. Twister, 4K. Will NOT play in high end dedicated bluray/ 4K players. 3 discs personally, 3 non working 4K discs. NOT the player, all other 4K in my collection work without issue. Reddit, full of this issue. 3 brands of players spanning 6 models. Does. NOT. Work. So I still haven't been able to watch this. Email to WB. No response, of course. Junk, worst release all year
@@walter2695 that's interesting in and of itself as some of the reddit users were also using the Panasonic. I myself am using the Magnetar UDP800, and the 900 has also been reported as borked. There's another brand too that I'm not remembering at the moment.
@@walter2695good to hear. That’s my player (and most people’s). I wish there wasn’t that issue with kino lorber dolby vision playback… otherwise it’d be the perfect player
