Can I just say, the guitar playing is spot on, beautiful tones, and your explanation of the types of reverb is so refreshing compared to people who just play. The only thing i would give as feedback as that sometimes, not all the time, in the video it is hard to really hear the resonating sound of the reverberated signal, so if you do another video like this, could you please make the effect signal level a bit higher thanks? awesome job
Behringer makes great pedals for cheap. Their pedals are clones of popular expensive ones, and most are either very close or identical sounding. ...unfortunately they're all sold out everywhere due to covid shut downs, but they should eventually be back.
Actually, TC have some reverb affordable pedals beside Hall of Fame, Skysurfer is a good option, and also there is another like Fluorescence that is a shimmer reverb pedal. All they are cheaper than Hall of Fame. Or, you could try some Behringer pedals, some Tc pedals are basically actualized versions from Behringer pedals.
@@half-assmusic6553 lol I don't like digital pedals so I guess that's why I've had a good experience. Their analog delay one is awesome. I like the overdrive one I got too.
Keeping the decay so short for all the Polara examples really didn't do it justice. It's Halo mode shines with a bit more Decay and Intensity. With a LOT more it kills the competition. Mooer shot themselves in the foot by adding fifths to their Shimmer pitch shifts. Limits the chords it can work with comfortably.
The RV-6 had the best Spring sound (incl drip) of the lot. The work they did ob the FRV-1 seems to have benefitted the RV-6, too - as you'd expect. Of these cheaper options, I'd grab the RV-6. Of the more expensive pedals, currently the Empress is tops. Rack units, Lexicon, Bricasti, and a couple of others. Nice demo/tasty licks, Kris! :)
One thing I don't like about the Holy Grail is that third weird Flerb mode. For some people, like myself, it may not be useful at all. So right there you own a pedal with 3 modes but one you're not even going to use. Great video bro.
There is allways somebody asking what song is at xx:xx minute mark. Please listen to the pedas soudns, It doesnt matter the name off the song, This man put a lot off effort in the production off this complex comparisson. Sorry, not a hater but it bodders me when not one but 5 or 6 people ask dumb off topic questions.
Man, the timetable. It's like a booklet or a special issue of guitar magazine but on RU-vid with actual sound. It's so informative. We need more videos like this.
I guess Im asking randomly but does any of you know a tool to get back into an Instagram account?? I was dumb lost my password. I appreciate any assistance you can offer me.
@Richard Paul Thanks so much for your reply. I found the site on google and im in the hacking process now. Looks like it's gonna take quite some time so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Although it a great review, i’d love it even better if you explored more parameters of each setting instead of playing the spring reverb and having all the knobs face 10 o’clock the whole time, for example. Like i wanna see how it sound if i only had a little on or if i had the knob turned the whole way. Just my opinion
: / THAT OPENING INTRO MELODY WAS THE INTRO TO MICHAEL JACKSON'S HIT SONG "GIVE IN TO ME" WITH SLASH ON GUITARS! NIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIICE!
when you're passionate about music, not only about busyness, Hat Off. thats how a demo always should be. talking about passion because the way he try to describe not only the pedal, you can feel the emotion who goes with it, cuz music is nothing else than emotions for me. thanks alot krys and Thomann. the Goldtop Les paul trad i ordered there is absolutely amazing, thomann is GREAT.
Thanks a lot! I LOVE good and inspiring sounds and every piece of gear that helps me getting those tones. We definitely didn't start this channel to sell stuff here. Our intention is to show you guys how to use some gear, compare interesting products and have awesome artist interviews. //cheers, Kris
Great shootout - unfortunately, I can't find the TC Electronic Hallo of Fame in your store! This video came out only 8 months ago... did you take the pedal out of the portfolio already?
Guitar player's have some strange quirks don't they? That shake that they do after holding the last note they play.... like that's doing anything to the tone. lol. They expect a sustain or vibrato. It's so senseless and funny
Hi your playing is flawless, what a virtuoso , at about 13 minute mark you gift us with some " Norwegian Wood ", what a gift, thank you very much. Great demo BTW, I love Boss RV6 over the others, no so expensive when you consider Boss quality, sturdy case, I have 30 plus years Boss pedals that still works flawlessly.
I am currently replacing 4 sub $75 Chinese pedals. They all lasted between 2 weeks and 1 year. I will never buy these brands again and wouldn’t consider them as an option any longer. They sounded reasonably good, but are made of the cheapest parts and put together horribly. I’d say 100-150 is as cheap as I’d go for any pedal, and reverbs typically cost a little more than that.
The *BIYANG TRI-REVERB RV10 'baby boomer'* STEREO IN STEREO OUT , TRUE BYPASS pedal is $40 , actually $30 at one place. THICK CAST ALUMINUM CASE, BUILT LIKE A TANK, HIGH QUALITY INSIDE, AND IT SOUNDS AMAZING!!
What song is that intro lick? I got the TC and EHX Ocean, but idk why boss pedal is so easy to the ears.. maybe back in the 80’s I grow up hearing it 😆
To me anything under $200 (American) is affordable for a foot pedal. Anything under $100 is inexpensive. And he said the Boss RV 6 is the most expensive. It's $150. That's affordable.
I have BOSS RV-6 and this puppy is pure diamant with everything from spring type, slap back, larg hall, very quality delay etc. But for the most, this is amazing for ambient stuff! So, stop bitchin, you - guitar snobs about BOSS pedal and better get one! Thanks to Thomann and Kris for another awesome presentation! You guys rocks! :)
Absolutely not necessary, as long as you're satisfied with your amp's reverb! It's something else though, if you own an amp with a really nice spring reverb, but you'd also want a modern, ambient reverb. Something like a shimmer, or a modulated reverb. In this case, well lucky you, there are tons of pedals out there to choose from. :-) It's a matter of taste and music style. //cheers, Kris
If your amp has only 1 type of reverb and you want to experiment with other types (spring, hall, shimmer, room) then yes. Buy one or two more reverb pedals!
Hi Thomann :D great demo, that's how it's done! I was wondering if you could tell me what is that guitar hanging on the wall? Thank you for the answer!
It's hard to choose between presets because you have to cycle through them. However, none of the other pedals here even have a preset option, so that's, like, a cow's opinion. The algorithms are great. This is not just my opinion, this is consensus on The Gear Page forums, but feel free to listen to demos online.
The Digitech Digiverb I've got isn't too bad. The emulation of the spring 'drip' can be a bit trashy if care isn't taken with the level, but that can be a good thing for some fun, trashy-thrashy surf work outs. Hall+plate reverbs are very good, going from a little added ambience to full on big room sounds and it supports stereo out. The Joyo space verb and Biyang tri-verb seem to get good reviews here on RU-vid too.
