Can we get a Matt vs Tim Prespawn challenge? Separate boats, time limit (half day, full day. What ever you guys can do/want to do), top 5 fish. Side by side video to watch how each of you are fishing to see similarities and differences between the 2 of you. I think it would be a fun video
Matt, you can't help but be all fired up after listening to you preach for 30 minutes. I would leave this minute if weather conditions allowed. You and Tim are great motivators and keep me fired up during down times. Thank you for what you do.
Thanks Matt. I think my fishery is about 3 or 4 weeks behind you. I am so ready for spring my rods, reels and lures have been cleaned arranged and rearranged 10x. I ended last year on the worst slump of my bass fishing life. There's a good video, how to shake a slump. I feel sorry for the first bass that ticks my jig, it's going to land in another zip code.
Man…. What do you amd Tim even buy each other for Christmas or Birthdays if anything ?? You have all the rods and reels a man can ever want. All the lures ever created… the top notch electronics. What do u even buy one another ?? Probably something that has nothing to do with fishing. Then again I don’t buy my brother anything and you guys are essentially brothers.
Just wanted to say thanks for the tips, I have caught so many quality fish this winter on the vault I couldn't even guess how many! It's been my best winter by far, between following the fish through the fall and getting on the blade bait bite!
Fishing was prespawn for about 2 weeks in January as we had a January heatwave in Texas it was 65-85 degrees every day for 2 weeks and i was catching lots of big fat aggressive bass that were heavily feeding but now it’s been extremely cold again for the last week and a half and right now it’s snowing with highs in the 30s… it sucks right now but I believe it’ll prolong the prespawn for us so this cold will end up being a good thing in the end.
Awesome video Matt I'm excited to go fishing in February it's been cold again and the weather is going to be back in the upper 50s and 60s here and Kansas
I live in Kansas too... Been fishing a lot with not a single bite!! Been throwing jerk baits, neds, crankbaits, literally everything!!! I hate winter!!!
Love me some TB , It's hard to fish in Orlando. One day its below 50. Next day its 75. Today is 02/18 and was 50 and windy today. Sunday high 84 🤷♂️ Thanks all the info. Any suggestions ?
Other than these guys being the OG of these videos you gotta respect the lack of advertising they do. Unlike most guys who take up the first 10 minutes with self endorsements and sponsor plugs. Been in this game as long or longer than these tactical hammers and that means something to me. Even though they obviously know how to generate funds they don't overwhelm you from the start and leave you feeling cheated. God bless guys and know you started the booom
I cannot believe you said "for the guy that doesnt like to power fish"who the heck bass fishes and doesnt like to power fish. That is like eating PB&J and not liking peanut butter. Why the heck would you do that.
My local tackle shop picked up a batch of Roccos this past week. Bought 4 of em to try em out this spring when the ice melts out. Love the balsa wood baits overall for cold water cranking
Man I've definitely become a better jerkbait fisherman because of your videos also bought some expensive jerkbaits I never would have bought LOL but hey they work I like they say you got to pay to play thanks for the videos I think you're February down there's more like our March up here in Maryland though JS LOL
Two of the methods you talked about….the jerkbait and A-rig…. Just do not produce for me here in Kentucky. I’ve never even gotten a bite on the A-rig. I know user error has something to do with it, same for the jerkbait, but by late winter my frustration level with both has reached its limit. I’ve even started using a jerkbait on a spinning rod. Having said this, I still take both with me hoping to figure them out. I’m a fishing ponds in my neighborhood and at local lakes that I know have big fish in them cause I put them in there, but still no luck.
Man this gets me fired up. I took last year due to having my first child and busy with work and school. Prior i fished at least 3 times a week. I did not even put my boat on the water last year.. I feel like I'm brand new to fishing and will have no idea what to do tomorrow when i get on the water. Thanks Matt and Tim! i may have a chance now!!!
Hey Matt, love the videos from you and Tim. I’ve learned so much watching your channel. Can you recommend a smaller A rig I can use to throw smaller Keitech’s (2.8/3.3) on?
We just came out with a rig specifically for throwing smaller baits. This rig shines with 3.3 - 3.8s on it but you can go down to 2.8s... bit.ly/3uwY6Md
A day box is something I throw together prior to a trio with likely baits for the conditions I think I'm going to face. One of these, two of those, instead of putting 20 boxes in the boat.
@@tacticalbassin look forward to the review yall do on it from your trips using it not knocking that S-waver I swear it's the best retail swimbait ever made. Gets bit in my lakes more than any other lure and doesn't cost 200 bucks. Not a trout in the lake yet the fav flavor is trout 🤦🏿♂️
For what it's worth, I have been catching fish on bladed jigs, small swimbaits and Texas-rigged stick baits in my Local Ponds. I have also had good success with wobble-heads, which is honestly a bait I had not used much in the past. I don't think we've had enough "cold" weather to knock the fish for a serious loop; I have even had a lot of frog bites. Till we get another cold front, I'm just going to stay with what has been working for me.
Interesting to see the new Buzbee box instead of the Plano Edge. You guys had been using the Plano Edge boxes for years, any particular reason to switch to the Buzbee?
Hey Matt and Tim, I recently replaced almost all of my hooks/ split rings on my vision 110s and the 110 jrs with the hooks and split rings that you have recommended in your videos, and after fishing with them I have noticed that they now sink, I was wondering if you have any tips to help them suspend better Thank you guys,
I really hate blade baits and lipless in my big creek. I lose everyone I've ever tried to throw. Unless I'm just straight retrieving they always snag up.
Little trick...take your trebles off & add single hooks facing away, so the shank of the hooks hit the snags instead of the hook point..saw Bill Dance do that on a squarebill crank
Pond guy here, haven't caught a fish in nearly 3 weeks. Feelsbadman. Not even a bite since I had a decent day catching 2 on some bigger swimbaits. Excited for February. I've had a couple big, aggressive bites in years past in mid-late Feb. Took a couple vacation days from work the week of the 20th to put in a bunch of time trying to find a giant moving up a little.
Have u tried a senko? Try a dark colored 5-6" senko, rigged with a 3/0-4/0 hook weedless & weightless...that slow falling shimmy can be a pond killer in cold water
@@andybales7318 I haven't in quite a while. I've definitely been too focused on throwing big baits. Only tried a dropshot outside of the larger swimbaits lol. I will have one tied on next time I head out to a pond. Although it's been sooo windy here all winter which is certainly not favorable for senko fishing, I'll have to find a few spots that are more protected.
@@Jon-nz3dm true, wind & senkos not a good combo...savage gear bluegill swimbaits should be good pond baits...the pulse tail version in colder water...great baits
@@andybales7318 I've got other bluegill wedge tail baits(softer baits than SG, hard to get) still nothing lol. It's like all the ponds I fish, most of the bass have just gone to the middle, deepest part and my baits aren't even reaching them. I'm dumb for not tying on a lipless or blade bait(they cast better than almost anything) and sending it as far as possible to the deepest water then tiny hops back to me. Might try it after this work week. Should warm up after a super cold texas week, maybe fish will get a bit more active also.
@@Jon-nz3dm maybe your fish go to Florida in the winter lol....those tailspin baits cast a mile....even further than lipless & only 1 treble...some good lookin' baits on tackle warehouse...of course I have some, being a lure junkie
Remember that "Top 5" video Matt did that was only five? Me neither. 🤣 . If you've been watching this channel for any time at all, it was expected, and looked forward to. Thanks for touching on the quandary faced by us bank anglers as to "what to carry in our limited space." It's a real challenge when you don't have a 20-plus-foot tackle box along with you; that "day box" of Matt's is larger than I would carry, but I would love to see TB start including a "minimalist kit" or some such concept...which speaks to which 10-15 baits and 2-3 combos you would carry if that's all you have room for. Most of this was completely not applicable to us here in Florida, but it's that time of year when very little of the country looks like we do. I still watched it all the way through. Thanks Matt!
