You don't need the big model J-4000 if you're just steaming your clothes for the next morning. It's considered a commercial steamer for large jobs, like stores that have a lot of clothes to get winkles out of before putting them out for sale or if you have large window drapes you want to steam, or wall paper to remove, etc. The Model J-2 is considered a personal steamer and is half the size, heats up twice as fast, and is $100 less than the J-4000. Its also easer to fill. The j-4000 has a non-removal tank, you have to bring water to it. The J-2 has a heavy duty plastic removeable tank you just fill up at the tap and replace. I have both and use the J-2 for all my clothes. They cost more because they're both commercial quality steamers and last forever. I've had mine over 15 years. The hoses are sort of insulated, made out of heavy duty thick vinyl. They won't burn you instantly if touched, but they do get hot. I also have the plastic, but tough, Esteam light weight travel steamer, which also has worked very well. I've only had one problem with travel steamer. After using it for a few years the front steam nozzle popped out, so I just glued it back in with a little black silicone and it was as good as new.
