The first part of Key to the Gate is not played correctly. I recorded the video on memory and didn't notice the mistake until I uploaded it.
However, as Varg said - mistakes make music alive. And it's just a tribute video so I guess it's fine the way I recorded it.

Thank you. I just played along each individuall song and recorded what worked best for me. I mean War is chromatic as hell and impossible to figure out note by note.

@@TheCHAOGames I use a microphone placed right before the amp and record with a setting of reverb and delay. There are no pedals in my records whatsoever. My amps are Line6 SpiderIV and Peavey Vypyr VIP and 30 series.

@@Invocated_Agitator liner notes of the album, at least on the Misanthropy reissue. Anyway, you can notice it has a totally different style than the 2nd half (which starts with the ascending hammer-ons and pull-offs) - first you have a scale run with a few bends here and there, and then you hear some more-or-less random guitar wankery, maybe apart from the ascending part. If you look up some Old Funeral lives, Varg indeed used to play that way.

Man, there is some special magic about the final anti-lead (as Varg calls them) on Key to the Gate. Somehow that lead and that rhythmic part as well, it touch your soul. Varg is a genious

The key to learning this is simply done in 2 steps, let's find out: 1) hold off on buying piece of land, purchase guitar instead. 2) if you have wife & kids, kick them out.

I like how you have treated the long Key To The Gate solos as two but played the riff in between and in the end, this piece is probably the most beautiful of all what Varg has written, and the whole song is amongst the most interesting ones compositionally. And great job of you playing and arranging it!

Amazing cover man... You nailed them, specially Sverddans and Key the Gate imo. As for solos, very good choices. In the end, Burzum's greatest parts of it's Metal albums come with the instruments altogether. It's guitar solos, though simple, fit the mood completely and bring in a lot of emotion.

On the key to the gate riff, I noticed a minor detail, and it is on the that 7-10-9 -7---5, the 7 is not pronounced that hard. It slides more quickly into the 5. You can hear that sliding effect on the album and it's because of that detail :) I can upload a video to show or you can just look at the vid where Varg plays it. But then again who cares it sounds good anyways :)

I was thinking about that song as well, but it didn't make to my personal top 5. I use the reverb which is built in in my amp (Peavey Vypyr 30) or which is in the BIAS FX plugin as a preset setup.
