As a former HCLF, plantbased eater, i used to listen to this 'man' who I can only now see as a childish bully. He hangs out in carnivore forums just to make fun of people who believe and live differently than he does. I'd have much more respect for him if he stuck to highlighting the benefits of his own lifestyle to inform his followers and let others live their own life the way they see fit. It's not like this is a game and there's a prize for winning over the most people. Also, after 10 years of eating a plant based diet, I'm vit D deficient, severely insulin resistant and I've wrecked my thyroid. I listened to the 'the fat you eat is the fat you wear!' mentality. (McDougall) We were also told the ONLY supplement we need is B12. Wrong. But go ahead Mike, live your own dream. I'll continue to research how to undo the damage to my body.

I have been mostly carnivore for about a year now. When I started I was taking potassium and magnesium supplements because of leg cramps. Eventually I was able to stop taking them. I find now that if I don't drink enough water that is when I may be more prone to the leg cramps. All I have to do is drink more. I do not take electrolytes and I do not use more salt than I did before starting carnivore.

@@Susan.Lewis. good point. If it took you more than a couple years, and you still couldn’t get your high blood pressure under control, here are some other things to investigate: 1. If you might have untreated sleep apnea, consult a pulmonologist or sleep doctor. 2. Try using breathing techniques to increase nose breathing, and to promote relaxation. 3. Try to get enough sun exposure, especially early and late in the day. Besides helping the skin produce, vitamin D3, sun exposure at certain times of the day can increase nitric oxide, which can help blood vessels. If anyone is taking blood pressure medications, they need to inform their doctor before undertaking diet and lifestyle changes that may lower blood pressure.

James Blunt, "I just lived on mince, some chicken, maybe with some mayonnaise, and it took me about six to eight weeks to get very, very unhealthy and see a doctor, who said 'I think you've got the symptoms of scurvy,'" he continued. "He said 'you're really lacking in vitamin C,' so then I just took it upon myself to drink a liter of orange juice every night, and then I immediately developed acid reflux. So as you can see, yeah, food is not necessarily my forte." I don't think the doctor's comment even counts as a diagnosis. It is accepted that survey takes 2 to 3 months to develop.

Oxalate dumping is a real thing but I do tend to agree that it has become the "malady du jour" with any and all problems being ascribed to it when it is really quite rare. I also think that, while electrolyte supplementation can be helpful as you transition into any low carb way of eating, it is not needed after that unless you are doing some extended fasting or some super sweaty exercise (like marathons in Arizona in the summertime). I think there are a lot of carnivore "influencers" being sponsored by companies such as LMNT and that this comes dangerously close to the selling out we decry when it is BigFood/Pharma influencing nutritional standards. Other than that, Mickey is a nutrient deprived nitwit who doesn't even know how to pronounce "oxalate". Scoffing=/=evidence. Also Reddit comments are not scientific evidence. Often when someone comes into a thread complaining of how horrible carnivore is and they are questioned closely, it turns out that that they tried it for a week, never got out of the "keto-flu" stage and then get all kinds of attention and approbation from people like Mickey who take their highly edited story as something significant.

You may be able to be perfectly healthy on a vegan diet. Dr. Westman has pointed out that there are many healthy diets, and often a diet ideal for one person is not right for another person, even for non-health reasons like income level. He is a realist who looks for evidence and disagrees with the "One True Way" emotional, adamant, and personally aggrieved commentary like yours. He even notes that vegan ethical concerns may be valid for some people but in the end are subjective at 13:27 He does not say that Mike is wrong about his veganism, just that he is often incorrect in his statements regarding the family of ketogenic diets, likely including carnivore. Dr. Westman himself has stated several times in the past that there is limited evidence based medical support for carnivore, although there appears to be significant clinical and theory supporting it. He even mentions this at 16:12 where he discusses a scientific (not clinical) paper and notes that a controlled clinical trial has not occurred for carnivore.

All Mic does (as he does in most of his videos) is prove arrogant people suffer from the Krueger Dunning Effect. I especially enjoy his use of Reddit to support his argument. All I know is what I learned in Biology, Physiology, and ANTHROPOLOGY... and that is we evolved by eating meat, meat was all we had during the Ice Age, and we followed animals to survive... when I studied survival skills and was forced to practice what I learned, you will not survive eating plants. Veganism only works in modern society. Also, I worked on a farm, and all of these plants vegans eat require animals to die. Cleaning the combine looks like a crime scene.

It’s funny how irritated they get! He’s annoying 😂 I’ve had migraines (once or twice a week) and kidney stones (at least once a year) for years and wasn’t vegan nor carnivore. Once I stopped carbs and sugars my migraines disappeared and I haven’t had a kidney stone attack in almost two years. The nodules on my adrenal gland are gone, and so is the sludge in my gallbladder. Never got any of the keto flu, fatigue, headaches or any of that. This not a one size fits all. If you pass out you’re not doing it right, is that simple. You’re not eating enough.

In nature there is sodium in almost everything, including most drinking water. The same can be said for potassium and magnesium which are commonly found in any water you might drink. It is well known that animals, including lions will travel long distances to find salt licks, rocks, mud, water, or other sources high in sodium. Such places are neutral and carnivores do not hunt there as it is essential for life. If you believe, as I do that carbohydrates are an addictive substance then the comparison between symptoms of starting a low carb diet and the symptoms of going cold turkey from heroine are pretty much the same.

Good analysis of another unconvincing Mike viewpoint. From my perspective, i am yet to experience of the things the anti-LCHF brigade keep warning me about. My only area of concern would be a slightly elevated LDL - which is why I tire of associative studies and other theorizing. Everything the ‘experts’ state seems to be based on as many untested assumptions not to mention logical flaws. Perhaps the biggest of these flaws being WHY would the body produce high levels of this protective molecule other than as protection against something else? So, lower the LDL means we are removing protection the body believes it needs (of course, science has always been smarter than nature lol). The famous Familial hypercholesterolemia argument also ignores that many people with this condition do not develop early atherosclerosis which to me would point to high LDL being only one aspect of their condition - perhaps we have just yet to uncover the others and it is one of these that triggers atherosclerosis . Ho hum

RDA for carbs is like 200-300g (45%-65% of diet). More ppl than ever are living a sedentary lifestyle. For context, here's a list of carb heavy foods and what 300g of carbs looks like: 1. **White rice:** Roughly 6.7 cups of cooked white rice (45 grams of carbs per cup). 2. **Pasta:** Approximately 7.5 cups of cooked pasta (40 grams of carbs per cup). 3. **Potatoes:** Around 7.5 large baked potatoes (40 grams of carbs per 100 grams). 4. **Bananas:** Approximately 11 medium-sized bananas (27 grams of carbs each). 5. **Bagels:** Roughly 8 large plain bagels (around 37 grams of carbs per bagel). 6. **White bread:** About 20 slices of white bread (15 grams of carbs per slice). 7. **Raisins:** Approximately 3.75 cups of raisins (around 80 grams of carbs per cup). 8. **Cereal (flakes):** Around 4.5 cups of corn flakes cereal (25 grams of carbs per cup). 9. **Muffins:** Roughly 8 large blueberry muffins (around 35 grams of carbs per muffin). 10. **Soda (regular):** About 7 cans of regular soda (around 41 grams of carbs per 12-ounce can). 11. **Fruit juice (orange):** Approximately 5.8 cups of orange juice (around 26 grams of carbs per cup). 12. **Honey:** Around 17.6 tablespoons of honey (around 17 grams of carbs per tablespoon). 13. **Maple syrup:** Approximately 1.9 cups of maple syrup (around 159 grams of carbs per cup). 14. **Cookies:** Roughly 25 medium-sized chocolate chip cookies (around 12 grams of carbs per cookie). 15. **Cake:** About 5 large slices of cake (around 60 grams of carbs per slice). 16. **Ice cream (regular):** Approximately 10 cups of regular vanilla ice cream (around 30 grams of carbs per cup). 17. **Pizza (cheese):** Roughly 4 large slices of cheese pizza (around 36 grams of carbs per slice). 18. **Sweetened yogurt:** Around 10 cups of sweetened yogurt (around 30 grams of carbs per cup). 19. **Granola bars:** Approximately 20 granola bars (around 15 grams of carbs per bar). 20. **Fried rice:** Roughly 8 cups of fried rice (around 37 grams of carbs per cup). This is what they are "recommending" for daily intake in our diets. No wonder there's an obesity epidemic.

All of the nutrient (deficiencies) that Mic lists are nutrients that can be found in beef liver. Some of them are even found in excessive amounts in liver, which is why one should be careful when consuming organ meats regularly. I know a lot of carnivores choose not to consume organ meats or follow a nose to tail principle of eating, but the option is there if vitamins ever become an issue on the carnivore diet. I'm sure Mic is aware of this, but he has videos that need to be made 😅

So just few thoughts; 1. there is a medical text from the 1700s where they specify the treatment for diabetes is eating only meat (mammalian) and dairy. So to say there aren’t’t any studies on this (which is also incorrect), seems hugely off-base since the awareness of no-carb impacts on blood sugar is centuries old. This cannot be solely anecdotal. 2. for those of us that eat dairy, I have a hard time buying we’d be calcium deficient. Also, aren’t the “paddles” in muscle fibres, which are used for muscle contraction, dependent on calcium ions? (It’s been years since I took human biology, please feel free to correct me if I’m off base). 3. can someone please point me in the direction of a dietary source of vitamin D (not including fortified sources)? 4. He speaks of brain fog and memory issues on carnivore; I have found just the opposite, I haven’t been this clear headed in 25 years. This was the first benefit I experienced in cutting out all carbs. Also, vegans always seem a dry and defensive. 5. electrolytes - most carnivores seem to need less and less supplementation the longer they are carb-free. But that’s just an anecdotal observation I’ve made. Also, no processed food, equals less sodium; it is understandable an accommodation period could be needed. 6. personal statement: RA related inflammation is down, my hair is significantly thicker, gym performance and endurance has significantly improved, and the first time ever I have not have GI issues. 7. this one is just bitchy on my part, but anyone else having a hard time listening to someone who sounds like they haven’t made it all the way through puberty yet7

Hi! I need things to do on some videos: 2. Unless your drinking milk or cheese thats Fortifed/Enriched (synthetic) with calcium pasteurizing raw milk destroys the natural vitamins, minerals, and lactase found in milk. Calcium requires the parathyroid, kidneys, and intestines to synthesize calcium. So inflammation could decrease absorption. Calcium is needed for A LOT: hormones, blood, muscle contraction, fat metabolism, bone remineralization. 3. Dietary Vit D: seafood, bacon, tallow, turkey, beef liver, pork, fish, chicken fat. 7. 🤣
