Thats so funny, I read your comment as the video was starting and immediately thought back to my first several years working in early years when I thought comic sans was everything 😎 - when I finally began to see the light I spent an eternity going back editing and reprinting all the business documents, policies etc. Now a days i tend to go with defaults, montserrat font for website (I think) and good old ariel for study as per academic convention. The area I struggle with is designing social media stuff for work on canva - I find it difficult to know what goes well for the image/message. Great tips though, cant wait to have a play around with fonts now x Thanks for sharing x
Montserrat is a great font. I don’t dislike Comic Sans, it has its used in suitable places. I’m going to do a video on it soon :) Social media can be tricky, but the main thing should be that the text is legible. A trend I’ve seen recently is the use of fonts that are heavy script fonts, I call them ‘Etsy’ fonts as a lot of Etsy makers use them. They are soooooo hard to read. I really appreciate you taking the time to leave comments Carly 🤘🏻
@@RockYourBrand Not just script but ALL CAPS scrip. Yikes! One of the first lessons I got when doing work for my Dad in the typesetting business was "only use script for headlines and never all caps."
Montserrat is a great font. I also use a lot Future PT but sometimes make custom adjustments on it. It can divide opinion but I love Helvetica. Unfortunately, I use a PC rather than a Mac, so I don't get it .
Making custom adjustments is one of my favourite things to do. I'm mainly a PC user as well. I bought Neue Helvetica. It wasn't cheap but it is a good fall back font when I need something reliable :)
@@RockYourBrand Futura PT has got a weird curve at the end of some straight edges that I don't like. That's usually the 1st thing to go. Where did you buy Helvetica Neue from? I did look at buying it once but was confused around the amount of options and different websites selling fonts.
