Thank you Tonya. This came right on time. I'm Hi-Po type of hair and am guilty about the 3rd common mistake 🫣. I have a question when I rinse the DC I follow with a conditioner is it good? Cc cause my hair is 3yrs and still I don't know what to do

Love you videos. I will print the flash cards so thank you. Quick question because you are a chemist. What is your take or advice on the Cherry Lola Treatment for when our hair has those spiderweb tangles and dry knots on the ends… no matter the amount of deep conditioning. Cherry Lola is just plain yogurt, baking soda and liquid amino acids. Are there long term effects or any wisdom about putting these agents in the hair? The after effects does give life to curls and it helps clear the spiderweb tangles. What are your thoughts?

Not necessarily advice, but the most important thing that I learned that really helped me with my hair journey is understanding the difference between larger and smaller proteins and what’s best for fine hair. I was using a keratin conditioner on my hair for the longest time, and I was wondering why it wasn’t giving me the results I was looking for. Finally learned that I should be using more wheat proteins or vegetable proteins, and that was a game changer for me.

Keeping hair stretched in twists, oil rinse as the last thing in the shower before putting leave in, using peppermint, rosemary and lavender essential oils in carrier oil for hair growth, trim as needed, and finally, leaving my hair alone- I only comb it once or twice per week. 15+ inches of growth since my last relaxer way back in 2020! 😊

Using the whole product system. If I am doing a wash and go, I use the whole line (Uncle Funkys Daughter) to get moisturized curl definition. If I am straightening my hair, I use the whole line (Chi) to prepare my hair for the heat. I get consistent results, and my hair has been maintaining moisture, length and strength so much better. Best hair advice I've ever received was to TRIM MY ENDS REGULARLY. Many black women are obsessed with length and would rather cut off a toe than cut off their hair ends, LOL. But if your ends are split, you're going to lose most of your length anyway as the split travels further and further up toward the root. Also when your ends look raggedy, your hair looks raggedy, you look raggedy. When I started clipping my ends more frequently my hair grew so long and so quickly, I was shocked. It holds a curl. It's shinier without the dull ends. It stopped shedding all over the floor leaving a trail like Hansel and Gretel crumbs. And it's literally TWICE the length it was when I wasn't trimming as often as needed. TOTAL GAME CHANGER & BEST HAIR ADVICE EVER!!! (Just discovered your channel and love how knowledgeable you are. I can't wait to hear your next topic. I hope you use my suggestion - if you haven't already done a video on trimming ends. Gimme a shout out if you do. - Marsha M. from New Jersey. 💇🏽‍♀)

Can you break down the step where oil rinsing comes in when you deep condition? Should you oil rinse after deep condition and before leave in conditioner?

Aloe vera juice and water right out of the shower. Naptural85 taught me this and it changed my WHOLE hair hair regimen. I can tell when I don't use it. The curls don't pop and the whole style is dry and crunchy.

Hey my beautiful sister, I was wondering how long to keep a DIY deep conditioner in your hair? Also, I don't have a hair steamer, but I have a heating cap...is that ok? I would greatly appreciate any response. Everyone here and y'all's family always stay blessed and healthy ✝️🙏🛐

Thank you for the knowledge that you share! May God make you ruler over much ❤ Question: what’s the difference between deep conditioner and leave in conditioner (from chemistry standpoint)? And why can’t we leave deep conditioner in?

Thank you! :-) DC are usually thicker than leave in's and need to be rinsed out because of that to avoid build up, also DC will usually have more conditioning performance then a leave-in conditioner. Great question! :-)

@@CurlyChemistryI still don't think you answered the question from a "chemistry" point of view.

I don't remember who it was on RU-vid that recommended applying my leave-in in the shower. I've been doing that, then waiting before continuing with my routine(sealing, etc) Even though I'm high porosity, it helps to give my hair time to soak in the leave-in. My hair still doesn't stay moisturized as long as I would like, but, it stays moisturized longer than it does when I apply the leave in after I get out of the shower I seal when my hair is almost dry Still damp, but no longer wet

Don’t sleep on protein/strengthening treatments if you have fine strands. Best advice!
