Back arthritis is often seen as a doomsday diagnosis by people and their doctors. Doctors often tell their patients that they’ll “eventually need surgery”, and “it’s just a matter of time” because it’s an “age-related problem.”
Once healthcare providers show their patients the x-rays or MRIs of the their lower backs and tell them they have things like, “facet arthropathy,” “lumbar osteoarthritis,” “facet arthritis” or “facet osteoarthritis” (these are all medical terms used for back arthritis) they don’t have much to offer to fix this. Doctors are best trained in offering medications and recommending surgery.
We staunchly refuse this!!! In more than 9 out of 10 cases of lower back arthritis, it is possible to get more mobility, reduce pain, and return to normal again!
You’ve just got to start on the right treatment. Chances are you’ve got a muscle imbalance that is causing your back arthritis problem. It’s the muscle imbalance that’s the true root of the problem.
Muscle imbalances don’t show up on x-rays or MRIs. Doctors and surgeons aren’t trained to find them and very rarely know about them and how they influence back arthritis so much.
In this video, Dr. David shows you how to start exercising properly to help fix back arthritis at the root so that you can get back to normal without surgery, injections or medications.

Hello! Haven’t checked in lately…just wanted to let you know that continuing your wonderful videos is really the way I have continued to hike ( 2 hiking poles and a daughter lol) as well as stay away from pills for arthritis. Movement ( the right way) is the key. At 87 I am grateful. Dr. David is the best ! Blessings…jazzi

Hello. I have been doing some of these exercises for spinal stenosis for almost a year now, which you graciously replied to me. It allowed me to get back in my garden and to do some home remodeling over this past winter. However in late February I had to stop my exercises cold turkey because I developed when I would pull in my lower abdominal muscles an excruciatingly sharp pain on my left side towards the lower to middle back and definitely could not tilt my hips, pain was worse. As time has gone by, the pain when trying to move or roll over in bed is intolerable but it ONLY HAPPENS AT NIGHT... when I lay down and can only lay on my left side but cannot move in order to prevent the pain. Ultimaletly I am not sleeping and staying part time in a recliner when I can't take it anymore. The weird thing to me is that I am fine during the day. I vacuum, sweep normal living without discomfort and pain, then the dreaded bedtime comes. I did go to a new doctor a few days ago and I was not impressed, says not my kidney because I can touch, squeeze and press in that area without pain, and she said it was muscular skeletal and suggested physical therapy. I have been on that road here and they made other body parts much worse. It makes no sense to me if it was that why do I not have any issues during the day? I have not had any injuries of late either, I am very careful. I am not looking for a guess on what it is, but am frustrated that I was basically dismissed. I was wondering if you ever heard of "referred pain"? I have this feeling about that and do not want to miss something. I have always been a 20 or lower with vitamin D your last video. I am now taking D3 w K2, 10,000 iu and a magnesium drops I just started hoping that helps, have also been on keto a year to reverse t2d. I really want to get back to my spinal exercises, garden time is coming... my only option is the er to maybe get some anwers, since it takes months to find a new doctor after mine got fired in Dec. Any insight would be greatly appreciated! Thank you.

Great video! My arthritis is mid back, not lower back, so will these still work? I always thought once you got arthritis it was too late to fix it so this has encouraged me! The ab curls strain my neck a bit, and I was wondering if there was another way I could do those to be easier on my neck. Bless you David!

Doc i need some help :( When i do workouts standing, like overhead press or I do some overhead presses on a 90 degrees bench i feel pain in my lower back i feel it like my lower back its bended to much like a very light "c shape" like its about to snap. I think i might have injured my lower back in the past. Should I wear a belt or protective equipment when I work out, should I avoid exercises that force pressure on my lower back or is there any kind of exercises or stretches I can do to fix my lower back. Thanks
