I'm a bit confused: -Chiori powercrept 1 character which has been already powercrept by many SubDPS for a long time and was hardly used anymore. -Neuvillette, on the other hand, has set new standards for DPS: Huge AOE, High DMG, Extremely Bulky, not dependent on Benny, Heals himself, Easy to use & with the best element in the game. And he's not even mentioned lol…

@@krummesblech it's even crazier. He DIDN'T set new standart. DPS characters released after him ain't even close to his power. Basically he powercrept all dmg dealers at any constelation while being super easy to run and build. Neuvilette is an unofficial easy mode for genshin (which is already easy)

@@krummesblech The hype around Neuvilette is honestly insane. He requires Furina to be good at all, he requires some type of shield for most players. A character that requires another 5 star is not a powercreep this has been taken out of context for what he offers on his own. Memes of people with cracked artifacts solo killing an abyss proves nothing my dear, those are content creators and they spend millions of resin in domains, you just dont KNOW that they did that. As soon as you get enough views to call yourself a "content creator" you get tax breaks for everything you do related to games 70 percent, meaning they barely pay at all it's just as scam to make YOU pay, you dont get tax breaks my dearest friend.

In ToF I am able to do content with just the standard banner weapons. I don't think you realize that Honkai Impact 3rd has the one of the worst powercreep powercreep, making everyone irrelevant with the herrschers in finale of part 1, and now making part 1 units irrelevant with the new part 2 units; yet people will probably defend it because "it's Hoyoverse" and "Hoyoverse makes the best stuff." Come to think of it, Star Rail also has this much powercreep, right? I feel like my 4 stars are no longer useful, even Natasha is worse than one of the upcoming 4 star healer, having to constantly pull is kind of tiring. And if you want to see more, you must check Dragon Ball Legends The way they handle it... I know the series is about powercreep itself but it's just very terribly handled. Constant powercreep every month or so, people get angry when there is no powercreep in their latest Goku or Vegeta alt, and the such. They even powercrept the weakness / 'element' system by having unit sthat just completely ignore said system. This is a more informed perspective. There are videos about solo ToF clears if you would like to search, or I can give a few sources of them myself. The bulk of powercreep is more in the ***gear*** powercreep, because of new systems, not because of weapons. Alternatively: I play Pokemon Masters and they often have such powercreep spikes every half anniversary or anniversary, yet people doesn't seem to care much for it.

Not really actually, he is the best main dps hydro char, but kokomi is still best at healing, yelan/xq at applying hydro, mona at debuffing/nuke dmg, and tarta is still really good. He powercrept ayato but no one use him anyway

Only Ayato got power crept, as for childe his international remained the same, if anything he gained an additional team as a +1 talent support on Nuviellete team.

Neuvilette isnt a pure hypercarry though. His team does not revolve around him hyperbuffing him. Hypercarries are if your entire team is built around buffing one dps like xiao,scara,hu tao and wrio.

So much so, I think Albedo owners have the right to be justifiably upset. It's so different than other powercreeps. Ayaka is harder to play than Ganyu, less versatile, doesn't have Ganyu's range, etc. That's just one example of their previous tendency to make characters different rather than better. Chiori is flat out Albedo but playable & stronger.

@@quietguyjosh4643 Not really. I've built Chiori, and she straight up makes Albedo look like a gimp. She does significantly more damage without any need to worry about construct placement. If you take into account her signature weapon and constellations (Albedo has no 5* weapon and his constellations suck ass), the gap between them widens a massive amount. She also has better synergy with Arataki Itto.

In some cases the previous dps chars such as hutao still are stronger in single tarfet cases(when comparing their best teams) that is my opinion after playing gutao for long and lossing on nuvillete(lol i also have seen showcases) with a good built yelan a hutao double hydro has near 200k single target dps after all

People really overestimate Neuvilette. He's the "best" dps not the "strongest". And what I mean by that is, it is easier to deal high damage with him than with other dps. But other dps can deal higher damage with less comfort.

He just redefined the way DPS works in the game. He is better than most if not all the dps but not stronger. Better in a way that he doesn’t need specific characters for him to work or doesn’t rely mostly on his teammates. Some DPS like hutao can outdamage him in single target, Alhaitham can deal more damage in most scenarios. Ayaka can shred a boss faster. He’s the most braindead character that’s why he’s better to use.

Chiori being the biggest example of an incomplete C0 character? I don't think so. That belongs to Wriothesley, where C1 allows you to fully utilize his charged attack playstyle that C0 can't. Imagine not being able to fully use your BASE kit no matter what you do unless you get C1. Chiori is clearly meant to be played in mono geo as an Albedo powercreep, and she completely works well at that.

A burst that has no relation to her theme unless you have C3? Wriothesley's C1 was the worst example, but Chiori has like 3 constellations that feel like they were stripped away from her base kit. I'd maintain her C1 should've been just an AoE increase. The infusion itself locked behind a constellation etc.

Her base role is off-field DPS just like Albedo. Also, her burst is a bonus nuke. It's not the 1st time a character has a low impact talent.

@@lewsee5562 I get that on it's own. My point is that the other support characters had the infusion itself behind their C6. This is like "Here, she has an infusion, but you can't really do anything with it unless you have C6." Then her burst, "here, it summons a doll that attacks together at C2" (not C3, sorry), which is exactly what her kit wants to do. I'm not arguing her viability without them. I use her at C0 and Wrio at C0 and they're doing just fine. I'm arguing the design choices of what to put behind a constellation. This is the most blatantly obvious they've been about locking pieces of a kit, so far.

@@backpackpepelon3867 Of course there are ways around this. Hoyo just choses not to act. You can have enemies that take no damage from shielded characters. It's even a mechanic in other games. Thousand of ways to get around this. They CHOOSE not to. I think enemies like that are coming later at least I hope so, if they do not plan to develop the combat the game will eventually die. But I do agree that created huge issues for the game...thanks CN

Venti alao functions as a battery as his burst restores up to 60 Energy split across the team after it ends. And his CC lasts much longer.

He doesn't invalidate pre-existing options tho. Like, sure, he's the best hydro DPS by far, but he can't really fulfill what other hydro carries are able to do. For example, Childe can enable reverse vape comp, and Ayato who can apply hydro from off-field in case you need it. What IWTL tried to go for was probably an instance of event where one release is able to shape up an entire meta or just straight up replace the current options.

I would say give and take cuz ayato is way more versatile for any bloom related reactions but neuvi is good for mostly taser. Ayato is like an enabler like childe more than a hypercarry like neuvilette. And neuvilette is super easy to play and c1 literally translates to no need to dodge and free shield and buff

Powercreep obviously matters since its human nature to want "better". In a game with action the most blatant showing of something being better than another is when it has higher damage numbers.

You're in your own world, if you use Diluc and Qiqi and you're able to clear abyss which is pretty much the end game content, that's pretty all that matters, powercreep who? This game is so easy it takes someone a couple months to end their supposed end game content after that it's endless yapping, nonstop clicking nonsense quests.

Chiori massively powercreeps Albedo. She does at least triple his damage. It's just not as obvious because she's an off-field subdps, instead of a flashy hypercarry like Neuvillette.

I feel Xinqiu got crept hard. After yelan, he still had a place when paired with yelan. But now furina took that completely. Since furina came out, I've never used him. Except the one abyss where everything was all fire enemies. He's an OK comfort pick, but he hasn't been the meta pick for a long time.

One of the reasons Bennett and Xiangling are still meta is because every single 5 star pyro character in the game is main dps. Arguably except for Dehya, but we don't talk about her. As soon as they make a decent 5* pyro support or sub-dpc, the 4 stars will be either powercrept or just paired together (similiar to how many teams have both Yelan and Xingqui).

He's pretty mid without C1 and R1. Even with it, his teams' clear time are consistently among the slower ones

Ever since I've gotten him abyss has just been a breath of fresh air to the point that I am confident to be able to handle consecrated beasts with him unlike before. Actually, I find Furina/Mona really good together as supports. Furina with Tenacity and Mona holding Noblesse and TToDS for big pp buffs

Kazuha didn't powercreep him, the enemies did. HYV decided at that point that all new enemies would be heavy. That's not Kazuha's fault.

If you were doing 4-star only clears (which is the only reason you can struggle putting up 2 crit-based teams) pre hyperbloom, you weren't even using vape most of the time, because there's only one XQ. Pre HB the best combo (bearing in mind you need 2 sides) was Sucrose tazer one side, reverse melt Rosaria other side. The only caveat is reverse melt Rosaria is the epitome of circle impact, but we didn't really have mobile bosses back then.

Yep, I agree 100%. 4* dps can *never* compete with meta 5* hypercarries. There is a huge amount of cope from F2P who like to pretend 5* constellations don't exist.

@@tyrkdlesath Really? I'm genuinely interested in how much damage you're doing with your Xiangling. My Xiangling is C6, using R5 Wavebreaker's fin (which apparently outdamages staff of homa). Despite that, I'm only seeing ~50k vapes. They trigger once every 2s for her 14s Pyronado. I've stacked as much ER on her as possible to try to reduce her massive downtime on charging the ultimate. Also teams with Xiangling generally include Bennett, which means circle impact time. By contrast, my Hu Tao/Yelan/Xinque/Zhongli team seems to effortlessly outdamage her, and is way more resilient and manoeuvrable. I see 100k+ charge attacks from Hu Tao, which double hit vs bosses. On top of that, there's the massive hydro damage from all the Xingque/Yelan spam. After her rotation, I switch back to Yelan for her glorious C6 overkill. Best of all, Zhongli makes sure nobody ever gets hit, let alone dies. Comparing that to Xiangling/Bennett teams, someone always seems to catch a big hit in spiral Abyss and get one-shot.

Rosaria is a 4* support though, she was never intended to be a main dps. She actually works perfectly with Eula, because she gives her a crit buff, which Eula really needs as her signature weapon doesn't give crit. Rosaria is also a great cryo battery... again something Eula loves for charging her ultimates. As a C6R2 Eula owner, Rosaria is my favourite support for her.

Rosaria physical was never her best team because it is physical. Her reverse melt team has always been decent and unique in being the best one to not spam Autos.

Rosaria was nerfed in her physical appearance... she used to bem much bigger....😢

Rosaria is probably the worst character you could have chosen as a phys dps. She’s still great for off field cryo application, energy generation, and reverse melt though. She’s still the best cryo 4 star and does the same amount of damage as Xiangling.

I have never ever seen people advocating to use physical main DPS Rosaria over using Rosaria as a buffer. She and Kaeya can form an excellent little quick swap team (which also has the benefit of being lore accurate since they're friends)!

I think the difference is Ayato is playable & good, Neuv is just more dmg. Albedo has issues & lacks even basic things like a 5-star signature weapon, a useable burst (before C2), & a source of dmg that can't be negated.

I've got both at C6 and still use them both in separate teams in Spiral Abyss. Neuvillette is an absolute dps monster, but he takes a bit of time to power up. I actually prefer using Ayato for doing anything with world exploration. He's frontloaded and clears packs in seconds.

Ganyu def was at the time, but her competition was Diluc, Klee, and 4 stars and even then she was probably on par with the national core but barely anyone used national back then.

Neuvilette is the most recent, that's why you only think of it. As in the video above, we have had multiple examples of powercreep

@@dohalimilqarasdeldemenanci8483 neuv is the only example I can think of because neuv is the only unit that ever meaningfully raised the floor and ceiling of what a carry can do, and even then he didn't directly replace any existing unit he just carved out a new role for himself. Again, releasing units that are better than dogshit units isn't power creep.

@@zed60k47 That's not how things work. When Ganyu released she powercrept everyone, and even multiple DPS units that came after her was still weaker than her. Check the clear times of any content and you will Neuvilette comps aren't that far ahead to other meta teams(Althaitham comps for example).

Chiori & Ganyu are perfect examples because they powercrept the previous things completely in basically all ways possible Chiori: - gameplay is smoother - her dolls aren't destroyed like Albedo's flowers - her dmg is higher both via her signature weapon & the same F2P options Albedo has Ganyu: - better than everything else before because she has relatively low energy needs (unlike Xiangling) making her useable in all content minus cryo immune enemies - charge atks are great for both ranged needs & open world content where energy/burst mechanics can be annoying - her burst was insane compared to basically anything else in the game & is still great to this day, I guess Childe's multiplicative stuff can compete but not effortlessly - her cons are great unlike Childe's/Klee's

He’s still better at CC and energy refunding, maybe also has more personal damage. Kazuha is all about damage buffing while Venti is more utility focused

@@jeremy8316 Kazuha kinda powercreeped Sucrose ans Venti. Venti's grouping is inferior to Kazuha's once you're in endgame, Venti is only excels in heavy AOE content now (and even those cases Kazuha is still a fine choice). In Sucrose's case, Kazuha ranges from being a sidegrade to an upgrade in all the teams where she is off-field, plus his grouping and double swirling mechanics are both more comfortable / faster to pull off. Kazuha became the definitive PHEC support and endgame grouping king, and if that isn't powercreep then idk what is, lol.

Her C1 makes her WAY stronger than Albedo. Her C0 is... still better than Albedo. So no she doesn't need her C1.

You're right, there's no real challenge in Genshin and most teams can mow everything down. But Chiori is a big upgrade on Albedo. Mine does easily 4x as much as my Cinnabar Spindle Albedo.

@@kaikawasumi I promise I'm not lying or exaggerating. My Chiori is C3R1 and she pumps out massive damage, way more than my C0 Albedo (with Cinnabar spindle). Her initial skill hits for 100k, and the Tamoto attack for 50k each. Chiori's C2 triggers that initial skill hit 3x over 10s after she uses her damage. Chiori's scaling goes crazy when she has her 5* weapon and the first four constellations. People are hugely underestimating how busted she is. Chiori can actually compete with Yae Miko for off-field dps, and I have her at C6!

sir, even at c0 she deals more damage than c0 albedo, more consistent particle generation, no miserable flower, and you don't need to worry about hitlag or delay in coordinated attacks. albedo can stay c0 because, well, his cons are literally shit. him having laughable cons compared to chiori is *not* an advantage. it just means that his ceiling is 6 feet under.

TCs have done calcs, she is worse than hu tao in ST and better in AOE (hu tao wasn't used for AOE anyway)

I mean based on current leaks Arlecchino is not definitively stronger than Hu Tao, she might even be notably worse against single target and harder to play overall. I honestly think that she will get buffed, but right now it is not looking any bad for Hu Tao.

Sparkle just straight up made bronya irrelevant, Ruan mei power crept tingyun hardcore and even before that fu xuan made almost every other preservation character look pathetic by comparison. Not to mention outside of pure fiction the meta is now based solely around two characters: jing liu and IL Dan heng meaning if you don’t have either of those characters you are going to struggle in MoC. RM powercrept tingyun? my brother in christ what weed r u smoking bronya is still useful to the second team, and still is the BIS option for sp neutral dps like blade and jingliu. just because sparkle does similar things to bronya doesnt mean she completely make bronya irrelevant. as for tingyun, her energy battery is literally useful on basically every single dps in the game, and most dps's best team has tingyun in it (like argenti, DHIL, dr ratio just to name a few) if anything, all the harmony support coming out are WORKING TOGETHER with the already existing supports to make the available dpses stronger moreover, if u struggle in moc because "i dont have either jingliu or dan heng IL" then ur just playing or building your support/dps the wrong way. dr ratio is one of the best damage dealer and hes given for free, and 4* dps like qq, heck even those like serval has more than enough damage to comfortably clear MOC12 with proper planning and investment im not saying powercreep isnt a thing in hsr, its pretty blatant for old dps but the game has not come to the point where they cant no longer be used to clear moc, it just take a bit more investment than newer ones, and saying new supports are replacing/powercreeping old ones is straight up not true especially when they works well together
