This is too much for a student, in my opinion. Students typically need entry-level to intermediate capabilities. While it's a good investment, your standards seem too high for someone who will likely only complete a few assignments. Universities should provide the necessary resources for high-level computing tasks if, by chance, the assignments are exceptionally demanding, which is usually rare.
