LG G6 has arrived! This is everything you need to know. Video Gear I use: kit.com/MKBHD/video-gear#recom... ~ / mkbhd / mkbhd google.com/+MarquesBrownlee / mkbhd / mkbhd
mustafa butmah Good point there. Also I still prefer a Titanium metal back. With glass, the back is slippery 🍷 drop it and its all over 😢. I preferred the LGV20 metal back!
Burhanuddin Gangartalai Agreed 👍. The "near perfect" smartphone in my opinion would be : Snapdragon 835 or 840😆 8Gb /16 RAM 4K OLED colour screen and recording Boom 4X Stereo boom speakers 256Gb internal memory Micro SD card IR blaster and FM transmitter 4,000mAh battery 3 days use ! Triple SIM (Work, Home, Travel) Waterproof even at 10 meters SPen feature Dock to laptop Bluetooth 4+ Fingerprint at front touch glass not at back! Rear to be Titanium not glass for longevity! Screen size 5.9" max smaller top 🔝 bottom bezels Iris Scanner which works with glasses 👓 and face 😔 recognition! Front Gorilla Glass 6! B&O Audio!
***** Sony ZX has 4K and why not others. As manufacturers discover better lithium ion battery, someone will crack a better 👊 capacity. Eg the Nissan Leaf 🍃 achieves only 65 miles on battery. Hyudai Ionic electric cars now beats Nissan with 180 miles on pure electric motor and faster 30 mins charge not 5 hours.. You can read about it.
Thank you for always having such tranquil, yet detailed videos of the latest tech out there!:):). The attention to detail really attracts me, i mean at 2:00 minute mark, just the way you present the specifications for the phone with the choice of colour and layout..everything is thought of in advance to give us great vids..keep up the good work.
Awesome review Marques! Always have loved your cinematography. Definitely one of the top tech reviewers on RU-vid. I am considering getting the G6, so this video is really helpful. Keep up the awesome work as always!
hey marques, thanks for the in depths feature review. really helped me on deciding with my phone choice this month. loved that you pointed out, that its a preproduction model. and also appreciate the focus on the design of this beauty. keep it up man
Karl Kahambwe My LG G3 screen died. This is my second G3 that died. The first phone had the Bootloop issue. Using my backup S4 until the S8 comes out in 2 weeks.
I've had my LG G3 for three years and it worked great until recently. I don't know if this issue is unique to me or not but basically the screen goes black quite constantly (sometimes it freezes on the present image and fades out in weird colours). The only way to make it work again is to put it in standby mode and wake it over and over again a few times until the screen doesn't show black. Even though the screen goes black, you can still use the phone and tap on the screen to do stuff, it just doesn't show what's happening. I factory reset it twice, didn't make a difference. It started when the one time I happened to put in my screen lock pin rapidly, which doesn't make sense. What makes it weirder is that the phone is in great condition too.
Every video we tune into your channel has wonderful start to it. Wont miss a single video fro your channel though. And that music at the beginning, love it. And BTW, LG G6 what a wonderful piece of phone. ✌️
*MKBHD* - "The Specs; This is the part where I spit a bunch of numbers and letters at you, that are both higher and better then the numbers and letters from last year" *Me* - Lol YEP! Pretty much XD
Ehhh, its good enough for now. I mean I know the SD821 isn't as fast as the SD835, but is it really gonna make that much of a difference? The cpu's in these phones probably need the least future proofing out of all the components Most people will sooner break their phone before the cpu gets too slow to run FaceBook
Van mallick I wouldn't say 2nd best. it's all what is suited for you. I need a small phone for one handed so I still use a one plus x. but the iPhone 7+ is really good because of its software, camera, battery, general feel
All major phone manufacturers took LG's innovative solutions from the V10 and G6 (and even modern phones). I don't understand how LG gets so much hate now.
@@tyjandrews one answer on this one: hurr durr but muh Bootloop & sheit, people only hated This brand because of their Mess with the G4/V10, not to mention its practicallly LG’s execs fault also for Not having faith on their phones when in reality it could do 10x much more than The competition if you ask me, not to mention on how they Under funded Their Marketing Division in which prompts some of them to resort to Guerilla Marketing release their phones To Carriers un announced ,had LG have Faith in their Creations, then we wouldnt have a Boring & Over saturated narket for phones nowadays that does nothing but being a gadget for flexing & nothing else
Hardy2141 to say that Samsung phone will make LG's phone irrelevant before either phone comes out is inaccurate. Yes Samsung is a bigger brand which is why more people will be expecting it to be amazing and also will be looking to see what it will have. But there is a reason LG is One of the top phone brands
Yep I would get one! points were very clearly laid out and communicated including the cons, the closup shots of the phone were also really well done, Im seriously considering this phone now!! well in Marques! now to find the full review treatment video :D
Thanks for pinpointing the core features. You somehow convinced me on which will be my next flagship phone. Keep up the fun work of saving us from the cumbersome details.
The LG G2, G3 and G4 were great phones. LG really dropped the ball with the G5 and its modular design and volume/power button placement. I switched over to the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge. The S7 Edge is a great phone; however, I still sometimes miss the LG G4.
devil1989 wow I'm using s7 too but from the way you say it, LG really have some software stability issues is it? and when it bootloop, can't claim the warranty or something?
Sack Boy you can claim warranty if you have it but you loose all your data.. Lg has poor byild quality, poor sofware and poor support. Stay away from lg if you dont want to get fucked..
Well that's according to rumors we'll have to see but based on their history the s8 isn't going to shine in sound quality both internally and externally, especially when compared to other phone manufacturers.
They certainly never have before. That's one thing Samsungs are really behind on. If the S8 dropped with front facing speakers, it could be a god among phones lol. But I highly doubt it will, all the leaks show no sign of it. I suppose the bottom + top dual setup would be base level adequate.
I had mine pre-installed on the S7 Edge. I can only deactivate the app.. but it still opens up automatically and starts that glorious loop every week or third day or so. Especially when I want to use other pre-installed apps such as Facebook.
Man, my G4 got hit with the boot loop last month. Still waiting on LG to resend my replacement G4. The first replacement was sent to the wrong address (wrong city, wrong address number, and wrong zip code). Damn foreign call centers.
Man, you went out of your way to mention "it's not perfect" as a disclaimer before talking about something you didn't like. I hope for the sake of consistency either you use this going forward or you drop it, as it was really annoying to listen to...it gave a vibe like you were looking for stuff to nitpick on or make a point of emphasis you were going to have stuff to nitpick about. Video production is still crispy as always but that was my only issue.
***** , agreed. It was weird because I think he has reviewed pre production units before. Maybe this is a change in style for him (to which it's a negative one in my book) but I cannot recall so much of a disclaimer like that before. It just was irksome, to be honest. He's better than that.
***** maybe you are, maybe you aren't. Again, everyone likes what they like. I just thought it was unnecessary for him to keep using that disclaimer. I've heard him be critical before and this approach just seemed unnecessary. But, we'll see...
Honestly i think he simply doesnt like the LG Skin. I've watched him for a long time and know how much he loves his pure android experience. Nothing wrong with manufacturers customizing the UI, but at times they just degrade the UX.
I think the G6 looks great. I don't know for sure if I like the larger more elongated screen size but that's something I'd get used to. I really like the camera too and hope the final version does not force close like it did to you.
Just a quick side note. Long time subscriber and wanted to say keep up the good work. love ur vids. u and glossy are my two favs. I've been with LG since the Optimus M. I love the g6, still have a little ways to go on my next installment, which is good, cause def want to see what they have in store for the v30. current daily driver is the V10, and it finally took the place of the G2 as my favorite device. thanks for listening.
People crying about the 821. Shut up! Not like they added a 625 there and say it's not so bad! I don't see why 821 is a big issue... You will lose 15 to 30 mins of battery.. Fine, stop trashing the company where everything else except the processor is awesome...
Pratik Khairnar I personally don't care as well but they do have a point there. If you pay the same amount as any other phone, you would prefer to get the 835.
I think we all know S8 is gonna be much more pricey than g6. Close to a 1000$. I would never pay so much for a phone... The industry is pricing this shit at ridiculous amounts...
You're talking about the edge version I think. Not sure Samsung is planning to come out with the one without edge this year but yeah if the price is slightly cheaper then there should be no complain. What am I trying to say is if they're selling it at the same price, it make sense that you should get the best chip
Robin Clarijs well G5 was quite less expensive n suddenly G6 is 800 dollars... They say iPhone 8 or X or 7S will be near 1000 dollars.. I'm guessing this less bezel really makes them think they can ask us for a kidney in exchange for a God damned gadget..
Very interesting. I have the LG G4 (battery life sucks aardvark toenails) and hope to upgrade to the G5. Don't like the no replacing battery aspect but it looks promising. Great video.
one of the best tech RU-vidrs around. I love your content and the professional and sleek way you present it. Keep up the good work. I would definitely buy the G6 over the S8, if I had the money.
I view a lot of your review videos to decide and compare which phones I'm interested in at the time. Currently using the LG V20 and eventually want to upgrade. Like what you're doing keep the reviews coming.
Also, not a fan they moved buttons to the side of the phone instead of keeping them ALL on the back. That was really what set LG apart. I don't need volume on the side. It just makes the bezels wider than they need to be and kills a signature LG feature where physical buttons have almost always been on the back that makes so much more sense from a one fingered index finger operation standpoint. And, again, BRING BACK THE BATTERY SWAP!!!!
I don't think he trashed it. It just seems to be a "meh" phone with no outstanding features so he didn't have much to talk about except for the glitches.
MKBHD when are you gonna post a review fro the lg g6, because I bought my Lg g6 and you are my favorite youtuber and I want to know what you think about the phone! :)
+eboyoy9711 The XZ Premium has it but for some reason, it only has quickcharge 3.0 instead of 4.0, meaning sony isn't fully utilizing the 835 chip's power/features in one or more ways. smh
I wasn't a fan at first of the LG V20, but bought it with a holiday deal. It grew on me over the last 4 months and loved it, especially the second screen. Just dropped my LG V20 in water. Was thinking about just getting the V20 again, but with that waterproofing, gonna wait for the G6 next month.
great video. I now own a lg g6. I love the size of the screen and body of this phone. lg finally answered what consumers wanted. the dual cameras are very useful. it feels better in the hand than the pixel and the screen to body ratio is amazing. the pixel would have been the best ever if it had that hardware.
