To improve safety in the operation of their aircraft, light-sport aircraft manufacturers, owners, and operators are encouraged to incorporate parachute recovery devices and/or inflatable restraints.

In many places in America, $200k is half of what you'd expect to pay for a new home. If you're a company and can't deliver an LSA for $15-$20k I (1) can't afford it, and (2) think you're basically stealing from unsuspecting buyers. Yeah, yeah, I've heard all the arguments about development costs, etc. etc., but I'm not buying fully into that. If you're making $150k profit on an aircraft that sells for $200k, there's something seriously wrong.

The usual list of losers. The Pipistrel Velis is not a serious aircraft. It is useless away from the airport. But at least you had Seamax over the Icon A5 which is the better aircraft. Bristell is not as good as Sling or Flight Design F2. And the best STOL SLSA is the RANS S21 Outbound.

@@itinensanzen If she wants to allege expertise in the serious sport of aviation then she should be grown-up enough to be corrected when she is wrong. Aircraft are expensive and complex and information related to them needs to be as accurate as possible. Its not like buying a toaster or a backyard lawn chair.

@@itinensanzen The arrogance comes from those making RU-vid content like this posing as experts who are not...making a critical aircraft purchasing decision requires informed and factual information. Tricking the consumer is never okay.

A $200k LSA completely misses the point. Can get a MUCH better performing, well equipped used GA single for less than that.

Valid point. The affordability factor is a significant consideration. Used GA singles can indeed offer better performance and equipment at a lower cost. Are there specific used GA singles that you find particularly compelling in terms of performance and value?
