There are definitely more than one Latias and Latios, at least in the anime. There's the Latias and Latios from Pokémon Heroes, and there's a Latias owned by a Nurse Joy and a Latios owned by Tobias.
Actually, the lore behind the legendary dogs makes it more likely that they DO have regional variants. They were resurrected from “ Unknown” Pokémon. They never said Kanto Pokémon
I cant really agree with regional variants of the lake trio. Theyre more god-like pokemon like dialga palkia and giratina where it wouldnt make sense for them to have regional variants
Ultima Tamer That seems to be a running trend with Mythical Pokémon versus Legendary. I’ve also noticed a lot of people lump both groups into just “Legendary Pokémon”, but there are two distinct groups of “Mythical Pokémon” and “Legendary Pokemon”.
I think stuff like trios and the Latis are just very rare and “legendary” part is just them being powerful Stuff like Box Arts are one offs I can see Darkrai, Meloetta, Shaymin etc all having multiples of the species just being very very very rare I can’t see there being 2 Kyorges
Sam yeah! I think the are typically regular albeit very rare and powerful Pokémon given a legendary or mythical title that was earned by one extra extraordinary individual specimen for the entirety of its species. The one exception I can think would be Arceus.
Personally I dont mind seeing Alternate forms of MYTHICAL Pokémon. As mythical Pokémon are usually those akin to folk-lore. But to give us alternate forms of LEGENDARY Pokémon is just a bit dirty. These mons usually have stories which dictate why there’s usually only ONE of them in existence..
I know this is a very late reply. But when it comes to some legendary pokemon like Lugia. It's already CONFIRMED to be able to breed suggesting their are multiple lugia. But other legendaries such as mewtwo which is pretty much known to only be one. Only very few legendaries can be said to be a singular pokemon. While other ones is literally shown to have multiple copies of them.
I would die for Galarian versions of Latios and Latias. Especially since in the Pokemon Heroes movie it showed more than one of each of these Pokemon. I'd also die for Galarian Lugia too, since Galarian birds are gonna be a thing
Even if gamefreak decides not to design a new lugia design, they could atleast just bring back shadow lugia. (However a new form for lugia would be pretty awesome)
The fact that the three legendary beasts came from 3 unknown animals gives them more merit to have a regional form imo, there could be the original 3 (different types obvi) and ho-oh revived them and changed their types to reflect the fire the rain and the thunder
I like the Eevee theory for the three legendaries of gold and silver. Not to mention the city with the towers have an Eevee theme some what going for it self.

They could introduce the Galarian Beast Trio, and claim that these variants are the three who died in the tower. This would allow them to expand on the lore.
All cultures around the world have similar stories, so it wouldn't be a far stretch for there to be other legendaries pokemon in another region. Also, it's not like they are going to have hundreds of them roaming around
Idk I always thought the title "legendary" was given to pokemon either because they are extremely limited or just simply powerful. Well at least nowadays I do but I understand where you're coming from. I'm just more picky and choosy on which to get them. Like the bird trio is fine to me but if mewtwo, zekrom or arceus gets one then I'd be out of it.

Basil Jackson Since they don’t have that red aura or clouds above them it’s unlikely they’re gmax forms. Doubt they’d add another gimmick to the game in the dlc so regional variants just seem like the most logical thing for them to be.
I definitely think there shadow Pokemon for a couple of reasons if they wanted to make regional variant legendarys why not have them in usum and why would they not say there regional variants instead of leaving it in complete mystery. Why I think there shadow Pokemon is because go and the main games are very connected and go has shadow Pokemon. Plus shadow Lugia is the frist shadow Pokemon in a game and the master of the bird trio. Also we know that dynamax and gigantamax aren't leaving galar so there has to be another gimmick for DP remakes why not shadow Pokemon. Plus how to purifie a shadow Pokemon naturally is by a tree which is what the legendary birds were by.

When it comes to Ho Oh technically it is based off a Phoenix and in lore when a Phoenix dies it is reborn from the ashes. Who says that Ho Oh couldn’t gain a Galarian variant that way. Also there could be other Oh Ohs in other regions such as Galar cause aren’t Phoenixes more popular in the uk region?

5:25 The Pokemon Heroes movie confirmed at the end that there IS more than one of the lati pair in existence, and also the Soul Dew also proves it, as a lati would have had to have died for it to exist.
Your theory is very true, but the fact there is (as far as we know) only one rayquaza which if you watched That movie with Hoopa in it, you should know that rayquaza somewhat commanded or is associated deeply with The Latis

If there are other galarian legendaries beyond the birds I seriously doubt that they will be an box art legendaries. They would more than likely be legendary trios or duos.

Darkrai is a Mythical, so it's just a really rare species, not one of a kind. And the Legendary Birds are not one of a kind either. Of course, there are the one of a kind ones, like Mewtwo, Arceus, Rayquaza, Dialgia, Palkia, Giratina, Kyogre and Groudon, Xerneas, Yvetal, Reshiram, Zekrom, Ho-oh, Lugia, and many more.

I’m not trying to be rude, I’ve just noticed this is a kind of trend in your videos to some degree.... Edit: I meant to add as well that your title specified “Legendary Pokémon” when some of the species you mention are classified as “Mythical Pokémon”. Easy and common mistake to make honestly, most people do, but they are two distinct classes of Pokémon with their own loose traits. I think that should also be taken into account when speaking on topics like these. I’ve noticed it also has (kind of) an effect on some that have multiple of their species and some that don’t or don’t seem to (though the split doesn’t have any apparent effect on either group).
I always felt it was strongly implied that the legendary dogs were the original three eeveelutions... Vaporeon, Jolteon and Umbreon given new forms... or evolved by the burning tower... Mainly because the original three had the same types and were vaguely canine in appearance... I think it would be really interesting to see 5 new legendary dogs for the remaining types...
As a side note to the legendary doggos, the myth of them being eeveelutions is really neat. Instead of having regional variants of Suicune, Entei, and Raikou it would be cool/sad if a similar legend happened in other regions with other eeveelutions.
The legendary beasts are a trio, probably the best way to 'regionalize' them would be to change that, maybe make the variants a sextet or something I'd really like to see a ghost-type 'legendary beast'
It would make sense that shadow lugia is a Galarian form of the normal one that we are used to. Mostly because now we just got introduced to the Galarian Moltres, zapdos and articuno, which are all a darker version of what they looked like.
I had an idea as to how the legendary beasts would get regional variants. The Pokédex entries for the Galarian legendary birds possibly hints that they’re not connected to the Kantonian forms, it’s just they have a similar physical appearance and were happened to be given the same names. Maybe they had the same ancestor, or maybe they just happen to look similar. I know it’s kind of a shabby explanation, but I thought it was an interesting idea for regional variants of Legendary Pokémon. Anyway, my idea for regional variants of the legendary beasts was that these regional variants are originally discovered frozen in a glacier, as they’re the supposed ancestors of the original Pokémon that became the legendary beasts (hinted, but not confirmed, similar to the legendary birds). They’re later freed from the glacier as part of a story-driven event and roam the region similar to the Galarian legendary birds.
On the Galarian Ho-oh idea: It could happen, however instead of being a separate form that's counted separate, it's a Therian Form situation, where a certain item turns Ho-oh into the galarian form and back again. Maybe a golden feather? Edit: Actually, wait, The rainbow wing! Ho-oh and Lugia could have alternate forms using the Silver and Rainbow wings.
Even if my theory may not be true, I'm positive they could have a variant of mewtwo due to the fact that mewtwo was man-made, so they could just make another, same could probably go for magearna since like mewtwo, was man-made. I'm not saying that I hope either of these 2 get variants, but I'm saying it's very possible. Well, I have to admit that a galarian mewtwo would be quite cool.
If the Legendary Beasts were based off the three Eevee evolutions, maybe instead of a regional variant they have a regional equivalent, where they're based off an Alolan Meowth, a Galarian Meowth and a Kantonian Meowth..
Obviously variants mean that there’s an entire species for that Pokémon, it’s just really rare in of itself. Like imagine if in real life there’s these Great White Sharks that are blue, and then imagine a variant that’s red found in a different part of the world
What if Mewtwo or team Rocket made multiple copies of Mewtwo in different regions. They would separate because Mewtwo tends to be an isolated Pokémon, then Mewtwo could have a Galar form.
Consider this about the Legendary Beasts: Xernias revives them, or Yvetal makes them undead. There also is the case that Eternatus unlocks their latent abilities and they transform into new pokemon! I'm not saying "I want this to happen", but I think it makes interesting possibilities.
I’m probably not the first the to point this out the silhouette of the legendary beast original forms looks similar to Boltund and one of the legendary beast also happen to have the same typing as one of the legendary beast
BTW I forgot to add the fact that ORAS and USUM came after X and Y so that meant there were already the original legendaries which could have given the idea of adding the possibility of catching the same, legendary even though at least 1 of each legendary already existed and was let's just assume caught
Correct me if i'm wrong guys okay. But aren't all Galarian Pokémon mega evolution less? As far as I know they are. Which means Latios and Latias would be the only Galarian Pokémon to have mega evolutions. Which might be a stretch in their creation.
It is confirmed, at least in the Pokemon movies, that there are more than one Latios and latias because when ones soul dies in the soul due the other takes its place
For the Legendary beasts the theory of what Pokemon that became the Legendary beasts are flareon, vaporeon and jolteon it's possible that different Pokemon was transformed into the beasts. Entei for example could be a fire/dark type if a houndoom is changed. Or other combinations depending on the base Pokemon.
I have been formulating this speculation with a friend of mine about a potential new lugia form as well... Here’s why: To start, 20 years ago Pokémon 2000 was released debuting the legendary bird Pokémon as well as Slowking. Secondly 15 years ago Pokémon XD Gale of Darkness was released with Shadow Lugia. Now shadow Pokémon have been exclusive to this game until just recently with the Pokémon Go updates. Now what connects all of these things together is the designer! I highly doubt he wouldn’t do something with Lugia since it’s been so long since we’ve had these kinds of variants. Now part of me didn’t wonder as to why new Galar forms for them. It was that they showcased the birds AND slowking who were in the Pokémon 2000 movie. With the addition of shadow Pokémon in Pokémon Go, the bird trio and slowking forms, I began wondering about Shadow Lugia or potentially a Galarian Lugia. But basing it off of recent years, legendary Pokémon like Kyogre and Groudon received new forms; Primal Reversions. And the Pokémon that ruled over them, Rayquaza, obtained a Mega evolution. IF they were to add a new Lugia form, I believe that they will follow this pattern and give us a G-Max Lugia or something to commentate the anniversaries for the game and movie. OR they will simply add shadow Lugia into gaming/give Lugia a new form of some sort. Screenshotting this for future reference :-)

I'm pretty sure the legendary beast trio are confirmed to not be one of a kind despite the lore surrounding them due to their shiny forms playing a part in the Gen 5 games and the Zoroark movie so regional variants could definitely be possible at some point.
Something I really want is a Galarian Lugia, which is the master of the Galarian Legendary Birds. Then they can do a Kalos expansion, and include the Kalosian Legendary Beasts and Kalosian Ho-Oh.
Here's a theory, there is actually at least 3 of each legendary pokemon. Why? 1 there are the original legendaries which you catch, 2 ORAS; the other legendaries appear out of ring portals even though the originals were already caught, and 3, USUM and the wormholes, legendaries can appear in wormholes regardless of the fact that 2 other copies of the legendaries were caught in previous games
I’m going to guess that Ho-oh, Lugia, Mew and Mewtwo will get regional forms. Lugia is the trio master of the birds, and sorta is Ho-oh’s rival (like if Zangoose got a regional form Seviper would get one too) and Mewtwo is Mewtwo, if legendary Pokémon are getting reginal forms, Mewtwo will get one, like how if we get Reginal starters, Charizard will get 2. (And Mewtwo is made from Mew, you can’t really have one with out the other) Edit: Fairy Mew, Dragon/Water Lugia, Psycic/Flying Ho-oh and Fairy/Dark, Fairy/Steel, or Fairy/Fighting Mewtwo is what I want
I mean Mewtwo is the Charizard of Legendarys. He want a mega. He hates it. He wants two? Boom! He gets two. The only reason he didn’t get Gmax is probably because his regional form will get one. If he doesn’t get a reginal form, he’ll get a Gmax form (or 7)
I'm not saying it's likely, but it could be possible to have a regional variant of Mewtwo if there was another lab attempting to recreate the legendary Mew.
I think legendary Pokémon can be split up by different categories. For lore reasons you can split them up by mega forms, regional forms, and primal forms. Primal forms could be those that are the only one to exist. So like Palkia, dialga, could get primal forms. Mega forms could go to acreus, darkrai, and the three swords trio. Regional forms for celebi, manaphy, shaymin. Idk I think you can make cases for any of them to be any form, so it’s just my idea.
The birds work cause in cannon there is more than 1 bird, which is why lugia would also make sense, same with the Lati’s but the rest not so much. Pseudo legendarys turned into actual legendarys would be a beautiful chance for them. Finally make Arcanine what he was meant to be.
The only ones that don’t make sense are the legendary lake trio, and Ho-oh. Mainly because that trio was created with a specific purpose, they were made when time and space were made. So it doesn’t make any sense as to why they’d have a alternate form when they’re basically otherworldly entities. Ho-oh doesn’t make sense because there has only been one according to Pokémon history. It just flies through out the world, I don’t see why it’d need to conform and evolve its form to a different one to survive when it’s already basically a god.
Unlikely but I’d love to see some inclusion of the X&Y legendaries. France is really close to the UK and due to there being no Pokémon Z, it feels like the legendaries of that game didn’t get explored as much as they could have.
I would like to see how the wheather trio legendary would look like in Galarian forms which are Landorous, Thunderous, and Tornadous and I would like to see a Galarion Celebi too would be interesting
i would rather see different legends with similar traits to former major legendaries, major legendaries should be specific to the region they are from but i can see an argument for mythical and minor legends. take the lake guardians they could have been created to watch a heavy lake region, while another similar group were created to watch over an expansive forest being forest guardian. this meaning they can be just different forms of the same Pokemon, but i don't think the argument works the same if you take ho oh or lugia and try and put them in other regions.
I think Galar is a separate dimension/timeline and maybe in this world the story is completely different and the legendary Pokémon appear differently in diffeeent places with different back stories . So anything could be possible
I think the musketeers could get a galarian form. Galar forms are essentially Gen 1 and 5 Pokémon, we get the birds frome gen1, so legendaries from gen5 seems logical. Plus the musketeers theme matches quite well with calyrex and galar in general.
Galarian Latios and Latias would be cool, maybe make Latios a Dark Dragon, like make the white parts blue and the blue parks black, and giving him look more of a sinister look with the redesign. And then make Latias a Fairy Dragon with the white red and the red gold, giving her a more majestic redesign to contrast her brother.
Hear me out. The 3 legendary beasts could galarian forms but they would have physical features related to what they used to look like mixed with how they look now, even to go as far as giving them a second typing possibly. You could explain it (in pokemon logic) as for some reason they change that way by kind of reverting (like primal form) to their "original" forms but expands on them according to how they are now.
(This may have already been mentioned) Galarien forms of Latias, Latios and Lugia would be a bit more probable as it has shown that there are more than just one. As Hip Hop mentioned, multiple Lugias come from the anime and it has been shown through the movie Pokemon Heroes, there is more than just one Latias and Latios. As long as the anime and movie is considered canon, these three would more likely have variances as they would travel across regions to claim their own territory. Plus, to further Hip Hop's idea about Lugia, the three original forms have Lugia as the guardian. Makes sense to have the three Galarien forms follow suit and have a Galarien Lugia being a guardian as well. Note to Hip Hop, power of one is one of the greatest sound track pokemon has developed. Well done in using it as background music for this video. Also Lugia is bet legendary (not sorry)
I'm not alone then. What if there was a feature where breeding a Ho-oh made a spearow that evolves into Ho-oh (after evolving into Fearow first) but it should be REALLY HARD; although I kinda love AND hate that idea
Unwithering I can see that! The reason I think this is because of Diancie. If one in I forget how many Carbink can become a Diancie, its not a stretch that a Fearow can too.
When i was 11 and I didn't know much I thought Fearow would become Ho-oh and Togetic would become Lugia. Sounds like a stretch but given how togepi was the given egg and Soul Silver was my start, I just assumed it would evolve to the box legend. Kinda like Nebbie in SuMo

Are we sure that the Galarian birds aren’t just the og birds migrated to Galar rather than a entirely new species of bird? Is it really required to have multiple of one legend to have a Galar form?
I feel like if regenal forms were added in gen 6 then the legendery beasts would get "kalos forms" thanks too their being a legendary pokemon whom is known for shareing its enternal life with others. Perhaps evenchully with remakes or if we ever go back too kalos.
00:08:47 it's been 20 years since Lugia's movie, and since then never once (in any media) has Lugia been shown to have any connection to the Legendary Birds, so refering to Lugia as "Trio Master" hasn't really meant anything in a long time.
