As a Native New Yorker, I thought this was great, and wonderful choices of places to see. There are several more that didn't make the list, but my favorite of these is the Transit Museum as well. Great video.
I loved the transit museum when I visited in 2017 especially the old subway cars that you highlighted. And as a tourist I felt it was a good way to explore another part of the city besides Manhattan.
While we visited NYC this weekend , we visited The Color Factory thanks to this recommendation. It was awesome- TY. We also visited Hudson Yard, The Vessel the interactive art wall. All great fun and highlights of our trip thanks to you. 👏🏼
Love the way adri looks with that cloche hat... She portrays that sort of "allure" that gets you back to that age. Great vid, jon. I can't get enough of learning about the big 🍏 throughout your eyes. Keep it up, dude!!!
I’ve been to New York City a few times and seen Neo Yokio on Netflix. It was incredible. The Statue of Liberty, Empire State Building, Broadway, and the movie locations. And the museums are always a must-see.
Hi! I went to the Transit Museum thanks to this video, thanks so much. I spend more than 3 hours in there, this is so interesting. Long life to your channel.
Another great vlog. The Met has always been my favorite but takes all day, at least, to see. I LOVE that Color Factory. That looked like so much fun. And I would also love the weird and obscure museums. You always show great places and give great advice, Jon. Where’s beautiful Adriana? Did you ever get her out of the ball pit? 😀❤️
If you're a fan of the Color Factory you should also check out Dream Machine. Another NYC vlogger had a vlog there. It is similar in that it is perfect for people looking for a place to take perfect Instagram photos. Like the Color Factory, I believe it also costs $38 to enter.
I remember back in 1999 stumbling into the Museum of Financial History down in Financial District while on a trip to NYC. I really liked it, and remember exhibits about history of NYSE, the Rockefellers, and original monopoly boards games...It was quite a treat!
I've done 4 out of the 5 already (I'll get to the color factory soon!) You need to do a part 2 (or 3, 4 ,5 ) For the other museums since there are so many!
Thanks a lot for all your videos! I’m from Chile and will visit NYC next week for my first time! Could I ask you two questions? 1. When you go to museum tips are a must? 2. When you go to a restaurant, I know tips are a “rule”, but could I add the tip into my credit card addition or you have to give the tip in currency? Thanks!!!!
I, recently, found out about the Color Factory last year through Instagram funny enough. The ball pit was my favorite and I had gelato for the first time. It was really good. If you go on Goldstar, you can find $10 tickets to the New York Historical Society. I have, yet, to go there. I am a member of the New York Transit Museum and went there during their members only day, so I got to see everything before the public. I had a great time being goofy on those old subway cars with no one around....lmao!! I agree highly about visiting there. 😉
Been to three of these! Fraunces Tavern, New-York Historical Society (twice because they had the Harry Potter Exhibit there!), and Transit Museum. I swear you can spend -hours- at the Transit Museum. It should be noted that Fraunces Tavern sometimes has free admission during the Smithsonian free museum day! Need to check out the other two! Awesome tips as always!
Hey John, loved the video, appreciate your history interest. Thank you for including Fraunces Tavern and the NY historical museum (again after the UWS video)
EM Martinez It’s in Manhattan at 11 E 26th st. It has all kinds of activities relating to math. It’s not like you just sit there doing math and stuff, it has hands on activities. One of the things there I find really interesting is the bike with square wheels, and it actually works! There’s also game like activities on the bottom floor. Look it up on the internet and you’ll see everything it has to offer.
Alejandra OH!! I think I know what you are referring to! The bike on square wheels sounds fairly familiar. I’ll definitely check it out! If it did however involve some equations to solve, I for sure would not mind. I love math 😂 Thank you so much!!!
hey I'm from Australia I'm going to New York at the end of the year and I don't know what to wear, I've heard its cold what would you recommend to wear around Christmas? and what city in new york would you recommend to stay in for under a week ??
Coming in mid May. The last time we came to NY, we saw a show called Fruza Bruta. It was the coolest show I ever saw. Are there any other cool (non traditional) shows to check out?
I use to work near fraunces tavern yrs ago dealing with public safety in the area and i forgot it was a museum bcuz majority of the time ppl would stop and asks me where is the bar and alot of the men working on wall street and financial district would head straight to the bar after work ppl seemed to be interested in the bar more so than the museum lol
Planning a trip in August, hope these are still open! Doesn’t the NY Public Library have a museum as well!? Anxious to visit there and thank you for your videos! My wife and I watch you all the time!
I wonder if the Transportation Museum has more information on those little rails in that tunnel for the cops ... I hope you get what I'm trying to explain; it was a it was a viralish Reddit post.
