As a Raum main, can you educate me: 1.Shattered Essence is affected by Cauterize right? 2. What does the stack number mean next to your health pool? 3. Is there any way to know how many soul fragments are on the battlefield? Thanks in advance 🙏
@@Steph1 Well as Mr Chickenl0va was 'throwing' by picking Raum before the rework, he probably doesn't have any good answers to your questions. As a season 4 gm with Raum and Ash as my most played tanks - he was certainly NOT a throw pick before the change - but it definitely makes him a lot stronger. 1: Shattered Essence is affected by Cauterize 2: The stack number above your 'Soul Harvest' ability represents how many soul fragments are on the battle field. 3: You generate soul fragments by hitting enemies; if you're hitting all your shots then you will generate 1 soul armor every .25 seconds, and each soul armor stack grants 200 hp + shattered essence. All of this is affected by cauterize.
Yago deserves an HM. Rolling around and straight up being a menace can really make a seemingly even match be a total nightmare. The whole team usually tries to look out for you, which leaves them open to your team. You can reveal and give shields too
the fact that Yago and Ash are not mentioned in this list show how meta shift (People rushing resil because of no caut) and many nerfs in sequence (Yag) can really affect a champion
Raum has always been my number one off-tank pick. When you mentioned Tyra being an issue for Raum, in a duel, I nearly cried. When I see her on the enemy team, I thank the devs for nerfing Burn Monster, and I GTFOT. Seriously...She has the nerve to call ME the monster?
I would just move Raum to 5 and everyone else up by 1, mostly because Raum has the biggest amount of counters in the game, with the fact that most players aren't that good at him, is a moving ult farm for the enemy team it just doesn't seem right to have him in the 1st place
@@elmercy4968 Yeah, and I still disagree with it. Not sure if Atlas would otherwise make the list, but he's still a fantastic off tank in the right hands
I agree raum is so easy to counter, just cos he does some healing it’s not clutch heals just residual heals. Raum is probably the worst tank in my opinion
If it was in order it would be 1. Ruckus 2. Makoa 3. Azaan 4. Khan 5. Atlas Memorable Mentions: Ash, Raum. It's debatable tho. #4 and #5 compared to Ash and Raum. it's interchangeable.
So Yag is supposed to be a boss but doesn't appear in any top 5 tank. And some people say that she's op, but she got her shield talent nerf that's bad . :-:
I'm lvl 122 with atlas, I agree that he's difficult to get a handle on, but if you can get a good grip on his kit he's amazing. just a tip, get the card phantom pain at lvl 5, and max out, or at least get chronos 2. honestly the thing that makes atlas hard is learning his cooldowns, which is what phantom pain is for. You learn the timing of the CD, learn to cycle them properly, and you'll always have your shield up
Hello! Main Ruckus lvl +150 since 5 years ago here. Thanks for putting him in a good position, because the champ really deserves it. I can say without doubt that Ruckus with a good flank helping him is capable of breaking every backline in the game, even the toughest ones. And the best of all, he's extremely funny and has one of the most badass ults in the game, capable of absolutely overwhelming every enemy except by Raum with max hp and heals/dr active and Yagorath in harvest. I really recommend you to give him a try and you'll see how strong he is when mastered. Also wanted to say that Raum in top 1 really surprised me.
As a console player I want to mention that I only recognize auto aim when it pushes the cross away from my target (mostly when I snipe with Kinessa or try to heal with Damba). So I enjoy your list just as much. Off Tank main here. (These top 5 Videos are also great cause I was away from the game for a pretty long time.)
How you auto aim I also play in xbox but I use mouse and keyboard. I tried playing in controller at first but I do suck at that. But I didn’t see any kind of auto aim
I tried ruckus yesterday. The only tank I didn't like overall from Design. But holy moly, he is A freakn offensive shield-tank, with hilariously Mobility, and a straight foward Destruction Ultimate of Destruction. Hilarious.
I dunno man, I usually have no problem dealing with raum, people dont really know when he is a good pick, players pick it even in to 5 cc champions and most of the time i lose with a raum in my team, mabye is the player, but in general a tank with a shield that can make more space and protect his team better is much more valuable.
Raum's dash isn't actually what heals him when he hits an enemy: you collect a single soul fragment on each hit, which is what is doing the healing. (Also works with Subservience as well)
yeah i used to like him a lot a few years ago when juggernault used to have 70% dmg reduction (yeah i understand that might be op, but they should kept it at least 50%), now i dont get even close to him just because how many counters he has right now (and there's the fact that everyone can slap you with couterize now it's global, making his self sustain a lot worse than before). i'm looking for others tanks and i'm glad that i'm liking champions like torvald e makoa a lot now, so if i dont feel safe to pick raum at leat i have other options.
The problem with raum is that many champions can counter his F to escape even if you buy resilience and without that you cant escape of many situations, he doesnt have shield , he is so easy to hit when he is shooting, so almost any good DMG can destroy him in the distance if theyre aiming good, and his ult can be prevent if you are aware . I get his last talent got buffed but in my opinion thats not enough if we are talking about off tanks in the roll it self
Not every good dmg is designed to kill tanks (Lian, Shalin, Willo...), but you should have someone on your team that does enough damage over a longer duration
I need to see an image of Raum in a Pokémon centre wearing a nurse joy outfit, considering the most hellish damage tanks in the game is also one of the most effective off role healers is absolutely hilarious
A lot of people are saying that Raum has too many counters, and is therefore a bad pick for off tank. But the majority of off tanks have a counter each match. Khan can't do much of anything to long range characters, neither can Makoa. Atlas is countered by resilience. And Azaan is also countered by the majority of things Raum is. Azaan is the most similar tank in this list to Raum actually. Thick health pool with lifesteal and damage resistance. Here is why I think Raum is the best off tank regardless of his counters. 1. His damage resistance. Raum can have a base 25% damage resistance whenever he uses soul collecter, as well as additional damage resistance from left click. If you use his charge talent, he can get a base of 40% damage resist. This may not sound like much on its own, until you consider his health pool. His bass health pool is 4500, maxing his health card makes it above 500. This gives him a large effective healthpool. This alone can give him an EHP of around 7-8k at base. I actually perefer to use his charge talent because of caut changes, which often guarantees an escape regardless of the situation you are in (even if cc is used it still means you are absorbing enemy abilities for the other people on your team). 2. Soul Armor. Soul armor acts as additional health which, when you have max soul armor, gives you an actual health pool of around 8k. Add to this his rediculous damage resist, and you can reach an EHP of 13k health. This is more health than Barik's ult, the one that can tank a Rukus/Imani ult. However, it gets better. Soul armor itself adds health, but doesn't count as healing, as it literally adds to your base health. Meaning, until you have max soul armor, the soul fragments you receive on primary function as uncauterized healing. In the age of 90% cauterize on everyone, being able to increase your health while ignoring cauterize is immensely important. With an EHP of 13k, and the ability to "heal" through cauterize, the team is often required to use multiple people to just chase you away, at which point your team should be able to capitalize on your distraction. 3. His ult. Many people underestimate his ult, but it is much more powerful in the hands of someone who knows how to use it than you would think. A 1000k damage burst and a long stun is nothing to sneeze at. In a cone that is larger than the diameter of Seris's ult. If you hit even 1 person with that, and a teammate is paying attention, you will have a guaranteed pick. But usually, you can get two or three people with it. And the best part, unlike Seris's ult, it isn't blocked by shields or deployables, it breaks them. This makes him a good counter to Inara, and Barik, two of the best on points in the game.
Mister Chicken....I have just subbed....loved everything about your production quality and narrative talent and I am not even halfway through the video yet!....I believe you and FrostFang are the best at this game! Will be watching for now on brother!! And I am so happy that finally with this new awesome update there is a new map with some new tweaks after quite a few years!
I think Ruckus will be an honorable mention like Buck, and Makoa will be in his place. I don't exactly agree with the order, but I agree with the characters
they should make a Canadian Skin for Khan, maybe some form of lumberjack and just says eh alot and apologies a bunch. to go with Ameri'Khan, we now have Khan'adian -as a canadian myself I'd want this lol-
15:22 especially with a well-timing silent I used to play with a friend who go torvald, usually, flank will try to retreat when hp fall about half, that's when u want to "silent" them, not just early game when they have just pull their head out
I understand your reasoning, but Atlas should have been high on this list, if not top 1. That's like not putting Evie in the top 5 flanks because she is too hard for newer players.
Man, i love Thorvald, i only just started playing with him and i love him. Does reasonable damage, love to blow people off the map, which indeed doesn't work in every map, and Nullify can come in handy, also does a bit of damage i use often when the target has just that tiny bit of health left at the end of your ammo. And i usually buff his health with rejuvenate en veteran, chronos, morale boost, with cards -40% cooldown and -Recharge cooldown and extra health, prot shielding recharge. Pretty basic, i go after quite a few people with him, i also play with a friend that is usually Jenos or Rei, which is a nice combo, mostly Jenos, grab someone, i finish him off. Works well.
Some new things I learnt from this video, 1. Khans grab can grab through SHIELDS??? and is a counter to Terminus' Siphon and Andro's Reversal???? THATS NEW to me. 2. I knew Khans Battle Shout makes you immortal but I never thought of using it as a counter to Drogoz's or any other relevant ults.
You say storm of bullets is really good, but if you actually do the math for his dps with and without it, storm of bullets raises your rate of fire, but lowers your damage, resulting in a 4% increase of dps. But since you shoot faster, you reload more often, resulting in a net LOSS of dps. So youre losing overall damage, and paying for it with a talent.
Champion idea: frontline Stegalla-God, AUTO ATK- spawn stellagmight from the ground (feels like grok totem but small AoE) ABILITY 1 - roll omni directional bases on movement,non-vertical. At end of roll become planted and channel. Gaining Armored HP over time as they tear up on the ground rebuilding to their stone armor. ABILITY 2 - throw a massive bolder (like Imani' snow ball but it feels like Ash' Ult trajectory) ABILITY 3 - tear a piece of your stone armor off and construct a chest high wall that blocks movment (but can be climbed) and as it is destroyed it breaks into Fragments. PASSIVE - 2000 of you HP is Armored. when you or your constructs lose all your Armored HP you drop Fragments of yourself. Allies can pick up fragments to gain Armored HP. ULTIMATE - Become your perfect Stagalla form as a God of stone. Explode from your Stone Armor, all remaining Armored HP at the time becomes Fragments as the change your total HP into normal NON-Amored HP. You abilities change to as follow untildeath. AUTO ATTACK - launch a Stellagtite projectile ABILITY 1 - form into the ground and pop up a distance away as a planted knocking enemies up.( feels the same as before but able to move and onto highground) ABILITY 2 - Throw a massive Bolder (more accurate and faster) Ability 3 - construct a small pylon that move to and attacks the nearest enemy. PASSIVE - HP is no longer armored while in perfect Form. ULTIMATE charges slower and cant be cancelled only until death.
Atlas and Khan main here. I dont get why ppl think Atlas is hard. Just think a lil. Like why are u using setback or who is best to ult in that situation. Thats about all. The rest will take care of itself cause ur staying power is one of the best
I'm just a big fan of Term because he counters Betty, Dredge and Willo absolutely and because of that dominates on ice mines-just go decimation, charge that stacks up, engage on a squishy with shatterfall, delete further 3/4 of their HP with blasts and finish them off with a swing of your axe. If you have a good healer, go speed undying build. If you don't like term, go with azaan, yago, or something other, this is a personal opinion, not a law. Just play what works for you (if it's not Vivian)

Yago is offtank. Reason she can't be main tank is largely due to cauterize. Yes, she has a lot of dr and hp, but other tanks can dance around cover and stuff, planted yago cant. And unless you have the healing output of furia beam it's hard to have enough healing to keep yago alive while planted. Also many counters While on offtank she just zooms around being a nuisance and a high hp monster who deals decent damage and can zone people
IMO Ash is just not an off tank: horrible damage and predictable, limited mobility, deployed shield instead of personal one, ability to knoch enemies back (mostly useful to get them from the point or into the sea if they're stupid)
@@asharone9863 tell me what makes her one- I think I listed enough reasons why she isn't one, but a decent point tank, but if you disagree and play her successfully as an off tank, that's fine. I just never saw an ash that did a good job offtanking
@@polarblade1159 Yea Ash being an off tank is pretty common knowledge the higher up you go in rank. Im pretty sure most plat players know that Ash sucks on point - but works pretty well as an off tank. Her damage, although it is extremely low, is also incredibly consistent due to the fact that her sheild is deployed and not held. This also means that she can deny space from the enemy incredibly well - the constant caut application and 400 dmg ticks make you much more vulnerable to enemy burst. She also often ends up being a candidate for top damaging, and it's not by accident. Her self sustain is also pretty nuts - and to top it off, she can become immortal in your backline for a long period of time. Ash is incredible as an off tank, but her point tank capabilities just dont match.
I kinda have to disagree with raum at number 1 bcs cc counters him. If he has no counters he is a menace but if someone can stop him from running, hes just a sitting duck that cant defened himself due to his lack of a proper shield
what? Raum is the most restrained champion in the game, 90% cc can cancel his escape, his healing ends at 90% caut, Makoa and Khan are good off tank counters to him, Makoa's hook can easily cancel your escape, Khan can ult 100% on him the whole match. Finally, Raum is a ult farm for enemy team
Do you have any idea of how many counters Raum? Like more than half of the actual paladins roaster champs, he is so easy to farm ultimates (doesnt have a shield) and is so easy to cancel his F Hahahah
@@zaedis5629 It does though. Resilience makes the ult nigh pointless and makes the rewind only good for interrupting enemy abilities. The displacement and counter to healing is almost completely nixed. The most obvious example is how resilience 3 transforms his rewind from a hard counter to Terminus' ult to a mere inconvenience at best. Of course, he still has his barrier and self-rewind, both of which are good. However, I wouldn't say those abilities alone justify putting him above the other champions on the list.
Ngl if you can see anything but particle effects when playing Azaan you playing him wrong, second he isn’t a tank, but an unkillable god. Literally 1v5.
on tanks buying veteran makes sense, on squishier champions buying haven makes sense. For example, on many squishy champions getting haven makes the enemy have to waste another shot to kill you, while, because you have low base hp veteran doesn't give such a big boost. Meanwhile on a 4.5k hp tank that veteran gives more boost than haven would block. Also haven only blocks single target projectile damage
She's an off tank, 100%. Really good at just running down the enemy backline and bursting down the squishies, before rushing away before anyone can do anything about it
