Thank you! I just did a curved offset yesterday and was fighting with the million nodes it created. I turned then all to smooth just to run a test piece but now I know how to permanently fix it!
Great video as always. I believe that the reason why there are slight "non straight lines" when you are shrinking from the 2" offset to the .125 offset, is the "S" and the number "4" are actually taller than the other letters on the top line. I would suggest checking the actual sizes of each letter to ensure they are all the same height, unless you wanted to have the taller letters of course.
More great tips! I love the work you're doing on this channel! This is definitely my goto place when I need help with Vcarve Pro! Thanks for sharing all these great tips! So helpful!
How do you get the vectors to be a certain width? I would like to make 5mm tool paths for my CNC to carve. Thank you for your help! Your videos are very informative!
Faster to highlight the vector and select the CREATE BOUNDARY TOOL. Rubber band positive value offset for a smooth profile around it all. Or negative value for inner boundary negative value. Or just create boundary. To create a rough pass to profile use my formula. (Tool diameter/2) +(final pass clearance/2) and then tha s your offset number. cut ON line for exact. 1/2 bit = .500 Clearance at 2%= .01 .25+.005= offset of .255. This leaves you with oversized by .005 which is perfect for a finish pass with .5 tool Final cut is then selected on original vectors to finish quick and easy.
Great video. Can I ask how ro use offset with stacked text? I have tried to do stacked text with a v carve tool path but my top text gets cared very small and leaves the top letters different witdths. Is there a way to keep my top text the same size? Thank you.
