Best Phillip Ko films: 1) Dragon on Fire (aka Dragon/Hero) ....2) Invincible Shaolin Pole Fighters ....3) Shaolin Intruders .... 4) The Loot....5) Goose Boxer .... (thanks for sharing) 😊
Phillip Ko was a great Kungfu Master, my favourite villain of all time.. Phillip Ko was also a great director as well...Phillip Ko June 18th 1949-March 30th 2017...May God rest your soul Phillip Ko-fei
I'm glad that I've gotten to see more of Phillip Ko's catalogue lately! Even though I didn't grow up seeing his content, remembering what I have seen him in plus finding out what movies he's been in that I have yet to see just makes me happy to be a newer fan of his work. Goose Boxer was a good showcase of what Ko could do with Charles Heung (who I need to see more of), and it's awesome seeing him hang with the likes of Hwang Jang-lee and Cliff Lok, though I think my favorite of these was the last clip with the two fighters standing still. That very much reminded me of Westerns where the two gunfighters wait to see who can draw the fastest, and I loved how Phillip Ko went off after he lands the first hit 😎 Good stuff, Dad!
THANK YOU BROTHA!! I'm glad someone appreciates Phillip Ko like I do..Im still collecting his movies..I have opium and the kung fu master, Shaolin intruders, Tiger Over Wall (one of the best Phillip Ko films ever!!) and more !! You got to see The Bloody Tattoo with Phillip Ko!! You think the Challenger is good...it has all the same leading actors in the challenger in the Bloody Tattoo!
Yes i Agree Tiger over wall and shaolin intruders were his best !!!, there is one more which i have not been able to find what i do remember is the wooden Dogs ( sounds weird) very choreographed but excellent!
@@maxximum18 Hello, thought you meant *The 8 Pole Diagram Fighters*he was the leader monk & they trained with wooden wolves/dogs.Greetings from Zakato
He knew Bruce Lee like Carter Wong, Yusuri Karata, Jimmy Wang Yu, Angela Mao,Jackie Chan,Jim Kelley,John Saxon,Chuck Norris,Lee Marvin,Steve McQueen,Eddy Ko,Lo Leigh Casanova Wong personally great legend
Then here are my favorites of his not mention here: The Loots aka Bloody Tattoo, Two Wondrous Tigers, Fearless Dragon, Tiger Over The Wall, Iron Dragon Strike Back, Mars Villa, Shaolin Intruder, etc.
Favorite Kao Fei films: Deadly Challenger (The Challenger) Two Wonderous Tigers Mercenaries from Hong Kong Duel of the 7 Tigers (watching him switch from Kung Fu to Karate all in the same fight was incredible). Iron Dragon Strikes Back
Philip Ko adds class to any movie that he appears in. There’s been times I’ve watched a movie and thought: “hang on a sec…that’s Philip Ko! Get in!” Great vid as always!
Duel of the seven Tigers is one of the best top two or three movies of all time. In Europe its called Shadow of the Tiger. I watched it so many times back in the early 80`s and still watch it today. Even though I have it on VHS, I still watch it today on youtube. You should of shown the part where Phillip KO was beating the crap out of all of them at the same time. I didn`t like Cliff Lok as the last man to beat Phillip. They should of used the cook instead. Let`s not forget the short scene that had a prime Casanova Wong. Now him vs Phillip would of been a classic fight.
Digging your channel man. Have you done anything on Lee Hoi Sang, Carter Wong or my personal favourite Lo Meng ?. The two Shaw brothers might be interesting as well.
i just stumbled upon your channel and iam a true kungfu cult fan dating back to the 1980…👊🏼👊🏼💪🏼every saturday 3pm …thank you my fellow brother for this channel …takes me back🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🔥🔥🔥👊🏼👊🏼💪🏼 my all time fav is shaolin vs lama
One of his more insane sequences is the final fight in the Bruce Li/Ho Tsung Tao movie The Gold Connection. The two of them fight it out in a tiny half lit apartment.
What impressed me about Ko-Fei's performance in the second clip was that he did it bare footed on that uneven, rocky terrain. I saw the movie trailer for the first clip under its alternate title, Dragon on Fire (1979), in the theater back in the day. That's when I was first introduced to the kicking ability of John Liu. The audience screamed with excitement when Liu did his signature 'leg hold'. Yes, I saw the movie when it came to the theater. Does anyone remember how the fight organizer in the wheelchair, played by Chan Lau, contracted rabies? That was a crazy scene.
@@amck72 Shadow of the Tigers is the alternate title to the 2nd clip. Dragon on Fire is the alternate title for The Dragon, The Hero (1979), the 1st clip, as I stated in my comment. See IMDB.
MY TOP 5 WOULD BE-TWO ON THE ROAD(THE FINAL FIGHT SCENE WAS AMAZING),TIGER OVER WALL(THE SAME THING WITH THE FINAL FIGHT SCENE),DRAGON ON FIRE A.K.A THE DRAGON THE HERO,MASTER KILLERS WITH CASANOVA WONG,AND THE LOOT A.K.A THE BLOOD TATTOO.
Philip has so many great roles and Im just sad he never will get to meet his fans in the U.S.-rest in peace Philip-you entertained us and left us wanting more.

@@LWAC71 for Tiger over wall ? Lmfao who holds the rights to that? Warner brothers? LOL I've shown that on channels of mine in the past and it's always stood up
