The black bounce card tip is so helpful. I always use white or light reflectors but the dark makes a huge difference!

Can't thank you enough for all the tips and tricks!. For a newbie like me that i'm getting ready to launch my small business this month and have no clue about photography it's truly a blessing. I can't afford a professional photographer to products pictures for my website, so i have to jump in, got my replica surface and my DSLR camera and learn how to do it myself., I can really tell you that i'm feeling confident on the results that i will get if put in practice all the tips and trick that i have learned from all your videos. You really add value in this space. I recently saw an ad for a product that copied your concept of replica surfaces, but they were just selling a product. I love how the look and feel changes when adding the black bounce card! shooting on darker surfaces is sometimes a struggle with my lighting and I can't wait to try this out!

Yes the black bounce card makes a big big difference! I know sometimes lighting the darker surfaces can be a bit more challenging, but the end result is totally worth it. I'll work on a video specifically for shooting on dark Surfaces soon!

I don't know for sure since I use an iPhone myself, but I found an article on manual modes for Android and you can find it here: www.guidingtech.com/best-manual-camera-apps-android/ Since depth of field is most affected by aperture, hopefully that is something you are able to control on an Android. Hi Mandy! I first want to say I love your videos. They're helping me with my small cake business and for my youtube channel. Hi Jovanna! I'm so glad my videos have helped with your cake business and YT videos! I'm glad you're interested in grabbing some Surfaces. The best ones are going to depend on the look you're going for: light and bright, dark, or colorful. Given that your cakes are probably colorful (correct me if I'm wrong), I'd probably start with light and dark Surfaces so that your cakes really stand out. My recommendation would be to start with one or two white-based Surface (White Marble, All-White, or Shiplap), one gray one (Cement or Plaster), and one dark one (I love Slate for cakes). That way you can mix and match to create light/light and light/dark combos like I show in the video. Does that seem like a good fit for you?
