I was in Oahu last July 2021 for 2 weeks and fell in love with the outdoors. I live in Florida and it's nice but it's not Hawaii. I'm trying to move in the next 6 months
You can find a place for 800-1000 1 bedroom, Kailua is a more pricey, kahalu’u is more reasonable, windward said is more expensive, McCully there’s places affordable there, don’t live or look above your means, mccully is close to Waikiki, kapahulu & Alamoana

Haha, I lived in Hawaii all my life and it's funny how you describe Kailua as Authentic...hardly any locals there mostly rich white transplants there. Most Authentic would be Westside or North Shore Area

Hello! I'm very much considering moving to Oahu... I'm an architect, pretty much just starting out, and would be applying for entry level architectural jobs. I have no family, car, or anything else that makes up a big expense. How much would you say groceries are in HI? My main fear in moving would be not being able to make ends meet... What would you consider to be a living income if I wanted to live in, say, McCully? Amazing video, already subscribed, vegan myself, all the love!
Hey Esteban! Great thing about Hawaii is that there are tons of apartments, studios, townhomes, and other rental options! In terms of a livable income, anything over $50K is safe! Get yourself a moped and you’re good! Don’t worry too much about grocery cost. There are tons of cheaper store options like Don Quijote and there are two large Walmarts in Town! Also believe it or not, if you are an Amazon Prime member, Whole Foods will be a cheaper grocery option for you.
