What are the pro's of duckstation over epsxe? for the past decade or more I've always used psxfin for 2d games and epsxe for 3d games, never tried duckstation.
@@chanonwisanmongkol2254wrong answer. Duckstation is the best PS1 emu by a long shot. And what do you mean by D-axis control? Everything is mappable, including the button to change from analog to digital on the Dualshock.
@@eapleitez Yes, it can mapping but it doesn't work when playing. I see a lot of people complain about it(me too) for a while. If you play with keyboard or PS Controller it's fine because it works well with dpad button but if you play with dpad axis this application can't distinguish the difference between axis-1 and ~axis-1. If axis-1 is left there's no right because ~axis-1 is left too. I know it support dpad button perfectly but what's the point of going out to buy a new controller just to play this crap emulator. You can use another emulator that support this type of controller like epsxe and save your money.
One more great feature of DuckStation that you should've mentioned is that it lets you run PAL games in 60 fps. I don't know of any other emulator that lets you do that ...
Many thanks for the list. I'm not new to emulation, but have been out of the game for a while. Was hoping to get PS1 set up, mostly for the old RPG classics, FF, Chrono Cross, Parasite Eve, maybe some RE, things like that. One thing I'm REALLY interested in is being able to increase the emulation speed (either with a button, or toggle mapped to the keyboard/controller), to play through some of those games without it taking an egregious amount of time. Any thoughts on ones that can do this well? Thanks!
Retroarch's Beetle-PSX core is Retroarch's port of Mednafen's PlayStation emulation. You need a GUI to work with Mednafen though as it's command line only. Also, I think Retroarch's Beetle core provides for some features that Mednafen itself doesn't, but Mednafen does emulate other consoles as well as the PSX.
Hell no, Duckstation in 2nd place behind EPSXE? That's terrible advice. EPSXE is terribly outdated at this point, and doesn't hold a candle to Duckstation. These days, for PS1 emulation, Duckstation is the correct choice.
@@cicak335Use the core labeled Mednafen if you are having issues with Beetle. I also found the same with Beetle but the one labled Mednafen works perfectly.
how to get own bios? i downloaded like half a dozen of emulators and nothing seems to be working properly. pcsxr is the only one that worked for me but i cant save the game which sucks...
Can anyone help me with Duckstation. I setup everything correctly but when I go to play Street Fighter Alpha 3, in the main menu the cursor is stuck moving up and down and when I play Megaman X4 when I start playing the game, X moves to the right on his own. My controllers work fine on other ps1 emulators.
When I extract Duckstation, the files extracted are missing some you show from your duckstation video. The. I tried to extract the BIOS that you showed, and when it extracts to the desktop it shows a file or a folder looking thing and yours extracts as a triangle logo. Then it doesn’t run when I follow the steps. Any suggestions? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Duck Station is my favortie...it easy to set up, easy to use and has nice ui and also runs games great! and have many enhancements! Plus you can even get achivements! It's so good! And also...i love ducks so of course i would use some thing called duck station.
Anyone know if i can buy a ps1 or i guess it would be the moni, ans put emulators on it. Like the old school nes, Nintendo, ps1 and super Nintendo games on? And is it something that is hard to accomplish?
If you don't like playing a games with a keyboard I can say all 4 suck because it has a problem with game controller setup (duckstation too) but epsxe can use all controller that exist in this world. This is a huge difference.
Your PC is likely very low-spec, which means yours is one of the very few use-cases in which ePSXe or PCSX-R are better options. Duckstation IS a better emulator but that means very little to you personally if your PC isn't able to run it. But it is very much a "you" problem and not a Duckstation problem. E.g. I'm using a GTX-750 on the computer I'm currently using and this is like me trying to load Cyberpunk and complaining that Cyberpunk doesn't work.
