remember to tell the viewer , that's its best to own two iPhones to be able to use a gimbal . iPhone #1 for the gimbal to become a camara only and iPhone#2 to keep in touch with people

Hello Zdenka Darula, thank you for your explanations in this video. I always hesitate between the Smooth 5 and the DJI Om 5... it's annoying... My ultimate goal, is the fluidity of the videos to get closer to a "cinema atmosphere"... The "Vortex" mode with the Smooth 5 to make artistic sequences is very appealing to me , but the DJI Om 5 cannot achieve this "Vortex" mode but it is lighter for traveling... According to you dear Zdenka Darula, is the fluidity between these two stabilizers really equal? I absolutely would like to avoid these small stops or jerky movements that I sometimes observe in the videos. Some people say the Smooth 5 is smoother than the DJI Om 5, others say there is no difference between the two there. So I'm still lost and still undecided ;/ I'm counting (finally I hope so) on you dear Zdenka Darula to help me choose because I think you're quite professional and honest by watching some of your videos. I thank you in advance for having read me and I hope that you will answer my question before this purchase which is much too late... Warmly

Great video, it takes awhile to get used to them especially using monopod and Hohem v2 and try to get sky and sea framed horizontally nicely as it’s hard to see what you taping so high above, it be nice to see on secondary monitor like iPad hooked up to it wirelessly I believe can be done with filmic pro.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts. The high shot in the air I would normally be just a static shot forward. If you notice it is moving from left to right it is panning which is done by remote
I have a question I am Using the DJI Om 5 but when I use the DJI Mimo APP the quality of the video is bad whereas when I use the the native APP of my Smartphone the quality is better

May I know the life span of each of the gimbals' built-in battery and remedy when it slows down or stop working? Noticed the reviews on DJI, Zhiyun and Hohem apps on Google Playstore is below 2.5 stars or bad experience. do you have the similar experience as those reviews?
Those reviews are usually from people who just purchased the gimbal and don’t know how to use it. There is a learning curve to it, so don’t be discouraged by those reviews. as far as battery goes I have hair gimbals, which are three years old. I’m still working well.
Om4SE is that in the same category of om5 or you don’t recommend the 4 over the 5? Looking for the convenience factor not the selfie stick but might go for the isteady for compact mode
Thank you for your video. Very helpful. Question for you, I would be using this gimbal on a motorcycle possibly my wife that will film sceneries (going to US west cost in few weeks). She will be sitting behind me and will be making video when we are in movement. I thought that a small gimbal would work better for her. She will be using her Iphone 11 and myself is using an S22. Budget is NOT a matter but looking for the best option/price for our beginners' tasks that could well execute both on and of the motorcycle. Thanks for reply
To be very honest, I don’t think I can recommend a gimbal for motorcycle. That’s a dangerous move. you might better off investing into 360 camera which is much safer and it is literally built for action

Either way you are going to go once you learn how to use it you’ll find the advantage of the gimbal. Androids have always a little bit of limitation, but I think you should be fine with the choice.
Great Video, I got my Smooth 5 and I am very happy with it. It would be interesting to see a video of other cameras besides Smartphones, even a consumer or rather beginner price range.

My main uses will be to record gallery exhibitions, artist interviews, and film myself talking about my work. Accurate color is essential. Hi Zdenka, I decided to do some more research 😱 before buying the isteady v2 after having some second thoughts. After watching several more reviews on your RU-vid channel I caught your thorough review of the Zhiyun smooth Q4 and decided to go with it instead. It seemed like it will be a better fit for my purposes. I know you don’t like to make recommendations one over another brand, but what do you think? Has always another great and very informative video. I bought the Dji osmo 5 and like how easy it is to set up and carry around hikes. The trouble I seem to be having with it is keeping it level. I made some adjustments on the app under horizon level and I also calibrated gimbal which did improve but found myself having to make these adjustments every time I used it. It kinda defeats the purpose on how easy it is to attach to gimbal when you have to go manually enter adjustments every time. Has this happened to you?

I am interested in the ease of use of the smallest gimbal you reviewed the Hohem, I want it mostly for news stories, b roll on recipes videos and walk through buildings/hotels, panning and zooming in etc on travel stories. I have been looking to find a gimbal for a heavy set up. Using 12 pro max with wide 18mm moment lens and 67mm ND filter plus the moment case. What gimbal for heavy set up would you recommend?
Since DJI OM5 has so short battery life would it work while directly charging? I have need to film lecturer who is moving and gimbal would be used as tripod indoor.

Nice comparative Zdenka. I'm current using the smooth 4, and still a very good gimbal till today for my usage (only gimbal using the trigger without gimbal's app). The problem is that is too heavy and sometimes I ride my bike for 3 hours and at the end of the tour I'm almost losing my arm. And another issue that poke me and make me started to consider another gimbal (reason that I've found your channel) is because now that S21 have the "editor's view", you need a little extra space to film in front of you and also use the selfie camera and use the trigger. But it seems that the 2 options with selfie-stick aren't there yet. My ideal world would be a mix between crane M3 (or g6 max - this one has almost everything I need to consider a gimbal upgrade and not "the same but a bit better") with OM5 (I mean, stronger and not noisy motors, to mount the phone with filters, independency to use modes (and good modes) without apps, and almost unlimited range of movement). So I'm most inclined to skip the OM5 (I like the counter weight solution of this one) and Q4 (I couldn't see how it could be done here and this was a big no go) and wait to see what they will offer in the future.

I have a question. On my phone, the Motorola Moto Edge 30, there are three buttons on the right side (volume up/down and power). I'm worried that if I put the gimbal over one of these, the gimbal will accidentally press that button. And if I don't let the gimbal cover the buttons, then the phone will not be centered in the gimbal, which I'm assuming is a balancing problem. So... how does this work? Do I need a gimbal that is strong enough that it can hold my phone even if it isn't centered in the gimbal, or are the gripping parts of the clamps of the gimbals somehow shaped such that they don't press buttons on the side of phones?

Thank you very much for your comment. In our case I would recommend smooth 5. I would only recommend bigger gimbal if you’re gonna be also using a regular camera, otherwise I think you will be just fine if you are using a smartphone only
Dear Zdenka, I have been using Canon 7D Mark 2 for a long time. Now I want to shift to Sony mirrorless. But my budget is not high near about $1500. I bought a Hohem and it turned out to be defective... the gimbal would go crazy and move erratic, had to return it to get the DJI Osmo Mobile... hopefully is better.
Hi Loved and appreciate your reviews and channel and am in the market. I did not find that the Hohem iSteady v2 could support my iphone 13 pro (not Max even) and I tried it without accessories or a case of any kind. It struggled and stuttered and was slow. Either I have a defective one out of the box or I am doing something wrong. I chose it because I liked the concept of the AI tracking and not having to be bound to an app as well as being small since i mostly want to use it backpacking, hiking, travelling etc. along with all my other equipment. I tried the Smooth 5, which worked great but is way too bulky and i know I will not travel with it. I seriously considered the OM4SE but don't want to have to be confined to app. (I already don't like that about the InstaGo2). The Hohem Max did not have good reviews for smartphone use so I am stuck. I would really appreciate your opinion or suggestion.
Thank you so much for doing this. What I’m looking for is a gimbal that has a selfie stick/telescopic pole and allows me to connect an external microphone. I do person-on-the-street interviews as well as b-roll. I need a gimbal that I can connect to my iPhone 13 pro and go.
the mechanical range is very limited for most of the smart phone gimbals. Zhiyun crane M3 with the quick release is an ideal gimbal in terms of its size and performance.
Smooth 5 broke on me within weeks… proper balancing, transport, storage everything. I think their app compatibility is to blame honestly I was using Smart Mode in the ZyCami app and it made some really jerky movements on the pan axis. Definitely lower build quality to DJI. But thank you for your channel! Learned a lot about filmic pro and other gimbals from you so thank you!!!
