Impressive that person who deposited all of those reds and small head fives. The small head fives are tough to find in circulation as it’s a smaller denomination and circulated more frequently. I used to get bricks of UNC notes from my bank but since covid they’ve seem to only have the circulation notes. I see you still have those tens! 😉
Silver Surfer The fives are tough to find. I suspect this dump was from someone who didn’t care. The teller even tried to verify that these might be worth something. The person didn’t want to go through the hassle. Lucky me!
@@Stuplubakcurrency awww thank you 😊 I am so excited to check out that ase ive never heard if one before. Appreciate the congratulations my friend Best wishes
Very cool. The 2's and 10's are going to be some nice rainy day funds if you ever sell them. Thanks for the tip on the five for one exchange. I'll give that a try and see how long it takes to turn $100 into $500. Good luck, happy hunting and take care.
That's the plan! Last year while I was saving for the world series of poker, I filled 2 straps and then I started replacing the $5's with $10s. Ended up with over $1200 extra dollars by the time my trip came around.
I love the idea of the 100 $1 bill strap. I'm starting that ASP. I love that you were able to get those cool $2 bill. I have a few of them and I think they are awesome to have. Great video. Thanks for sharing..
I know that this is an old video but I was just going through some of my currency collection and I found a $100 strap of one dollar bills sequential star notes with the original BEP strap wrapper on it. Now I wonder what would be the best way for me to get the best price for this particular piece of currency. They are all crisp uncirculated and possibly choice premium paper quality 70 . These notes have been in a bag since before I bought them. Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated.
@@kconnor4568 I hate to burst your bubble but I am a realist. Never assume your notes grade over 65. I have never held a 70 in my hands. It’s better to be pleasantly surprised rather than deeply disappointed. The BEP is playing games. They changed the rule requiring notes to be printed in order. Therefore there is no need to print star notes anymore. But they are still currently printing them. I don’t know why or for what purpose. Even so, I’m hanging on to my stars because once they stop printing them, it will take time for the supply in circulation to dry up. I think of them like web notes. They stopped printing them in 1995 but you could find them everywhere. Now, in 2024, it’s been 3 years since I found one in circulation. They are starting to sell for $15-$20. I put stars on the same timeframe. Hope this helps!
@@Stuplubakcurrency I do appreciate you getting back to me so quickly. Yes you are right about the fact that they would not probably not grade at 70 but since they are all still in the same stack with the wrap one can hope. I only paid $1.50 each or $150 for the entire stack so I don’t think that I will lose any money on them regardless. I I’m not rich and I’m not sure how much it would cost to have them graded so I don’t know what the best way would be to sell them off for the best profit. Any suggestions?
Hey just to mention something I've found weird on Ebay. Their are so many random notes being posted by new accounts for $500. They're not even rare notes either. One was a severely damaged 57' $1 silver certificate. Do you think these are bots? Sorry I know this is irrelevant to the video.
I love to try and collect straps of any currency.I say try because my bank for almost 2 yrs now been trying and asking and offering to buy straps of 1’s,2’s,5’s,10’s,and 20’s and always get they will call me when they come into the bank so it’s not like they can’t get them.I’m super polite about it and even don’t ask everytime because I don’t want to be a pain. They offer to call me when they come in.i been a member of my credit union for 15 yrs now and still waiting for the phone to ring lol it’s not like I’m asking for . something that’s impossible .Any ideas besides changing banks be so appreciated.thanks in advance.
It depends on the serial number and the year. All notes start off in sequential order so it's not that rare. Any bank can order brand new notes. But if there is something interesting about the serial number or if they are star notes then they could be worth more. Just by looking at the first number you can tell the contents of the strap. If you had number 01234501, you would know there was a full ladder (01234567) inside. Or maybe 10891001 would tell you there is a repeater (10891089) inside. But a strap of new notes in and of itself isn't enough to make it worth more money. I have a video showing fancy serial numbers so you know what to look for. Good luck!
I have some. None are graded. mostly Morgans. I search rolls for a change of pace. I bought 2 5000 ct bags of wheaties to search. found some neat errors. There is a video of my finds.
@@Stuplubakcurrency today its almost not worth the amount of time search for silver, unless you are dedicated to collecting coin. What note denomination is most likely to find small portrait ones?
@@sylamy7457 The higher the denomination, the more likely to find something. I can almost always get an old $100 when I do my bank runs. People tend to take care with $100s. They stay in circulation longer. $5's are the toughest. It's very hard to find a small head $5 in circulation that's in good shape. When I search coins it's mainly for errors. I even commented in a video how I see people speed run through a box and pull out 10 wheats worth about 3 cents each while not even knowing what a repunched mint mark is or that they could be worth $25 or more!
@@Stuplubakcurrency Wow yeah. That's true, I dont really look out for error besides the obvious, any good guides/videos you know of that help look for valuable errors in pennies?
sylamy 123 the cherry pickers guide is great! Another is strike it rich with pocket change. Rob finds treasure does a lot of coin roll hunts and is always talking about websites for checking errors.
