Get yourself to wheelie school secretly then one day in a random video just pop a massive wheelie out of the blue! Haha. All your viewers would go crazy ha
I installed the storage bag/rack system that Husky sells and it has really transformed the bike into a do all motorcycle. #1 on my list is Rottweiler Performance can squeeze another 10hp and Torque from the single cylinder masterpiece that it is!!! What other bike has 5 different ways it filters the oil ? This bike is worth every penny!!! Yes it’s super well balanced and light. Has to be the rear fuel tank!! Go buy one ☝️ or 2
Tried one last week. I was grinning like Tony Blair the whole time i was on it. Great bike. The only issue is the price here in Austria. Nearly 11k euros new? Same price as a new street triple. Crazy expensive, but what a bike!
Really really reallllllly thinking of getting this bike. Seems a bit overpriced but with that to one side... I was actually being put off by all the wheelie based reviews as I'm not capable or brave enough to do them. Seeing @TMF enjoy it has made me really want to go out and buy one now though. Damn you Husqvarna - a cunning ploy indeed!
Add a can and the noise is lovely. Akras seem to have an issue and people have Brown the can apart! Most gut the akra to remove the internal cat. I have a wings exhaust and a titanium header on mine and shes a noisy girl. But after over 10k miles on my 2 huskys the wings exhaust is still solid
this is the 2018 the same one i have. if you remove the 25amp fuse from the ABS module under the ECU then you can disable ABS for free. 2018 only 2019 and on they start rerouting the speedometer and other dash related things through that circuit. i dont see you using the quickshifter though its there up and down. also keep the RPMs up 2018 is the first year where they added 3cc and changed the cams for more torque in the mid and up end. maybe not noticeable on stock exhaust tho
@ 6:01 - Ha! It's funny you should happen to mention a "street triple" bike when i'm trying to decide between the bike your riding and the Yamaha xsr900.
Hi TMF - always enjoy your reviews, but the thing that always seems to be missing is the 'third person' view, so we can see what the bike looks like when you're riding it and your riding position when you're on it. We only get to see the handlebars when the bike is moving or the whole bike when you do your walkaround. Looks like you're experimenting with this view when you do your readers rides - I'd love to see more introduced in your other videos. 😀
Well as there's only me it's very difficult for me to do riding shots - on the "readers rides" videos I rope in my guest viewer to do the filming or I film them on their bike....tricky to do normally as I'm a "one man" production machine!
What a great 2nd bike for popping down to the boulengerie for a baguette. Must be among the best bikes that exists for short commutes and city riding. Great vid MrF and have a good week. MrsF as cracking on the drums as always. Was she trained by Cozy Powell?
Nothing to do with me - RU-vid/Google decide on which adverts to serve to whom - they obviously think you're the sort of person who may need the stairlift....I've never seen the advert, I only get Tesla adverts or exotic holidays.....
Waiting for the next video on the 701sm. Would be great if you got to try the enduro version and done a little offroading. Keep looking at this type of bike as a fun 2nd bike but really would prefer the option to go off road. Be great if you could comment on its usefulness compared to your crf.
The Enduro version is taller than the SM due to the larger wheels but the suspension is more supple so it settles once you are on it but is tall to initially get on if you are a short @r$e. The engine is the same but the gearing is lower for off road excursions, as a rough guide 3rd gear on the Enduro approximates to 2nd gear on the SM in stock form. It has long service intervals, 6000 miles. Compared to a CRF250L, the 701 is taller, lighter, has alloy where the CRF has steel in the components, adjustable suspension front and back and about 3 times as much power! It will easily cruise at the permitted speed limits in the UK if you can accept the wind blast at 70mph. The bike never gets tired, something to consider if you are new to off road riding. Sometimes less is more when you are off road but there is no replacement for displacement. Oh and no fuel gauge, just a warning light comes on. Older trail bikes mostly lacked fuel gauges and just had a lever for ON-OFF-RES. More reliable than a bulb which may blow. The CRF250L has the legendary Honda build quality but is built to a price point. Hope that helps.
Hellooo. Great content always awsome. Id like to make a request, whats the chances of you getting on the husky 701 enduro to compare it against the Sm? Imheard they are quite different evan though they are the same engine. Id love to watch if you are able to do that review.
You also have a CRF250L (so do I), obviously husky is way way way way more powerful, but: 1. Which of the 2 would you say is more comfortable to ride, suspension wise, potholes and stuff? 2. Which of the 2 is smoother, vibrates less?
The ride looks quite bumpy. Looks like a pure offroader. I like a bit of comfort on my rides. This is going like stink but under full control, for shorter rides only. Super motos do need more maintanence than normal bikes I heard. So costs is a factor, if true.
The service intervals on this bike are surprisingly long! I'd still recommend doing oil changes sooner than they recommend, very reliable bike when looked after properly.
Yup, it Uses the 2016 KTM Duke 690 engine. Seems all KTM and Husqvarna high capacity road single cylinder bikes will basically ‘borrow’ the Duke 690’s engine for the foreseeable future. Nothing wrong with that though, it’s a bloody damn good engine!!
Great video mate....unfortunatly its not the first review by someone who cant wheelie! I myself reviewed it on my channel and i cant wheelie at all 😂 my husky has been great, but some issues ive had is the front brake fade (have you experienced this?) and the false neutrals are annoying
@@TheMissendenFlyer i am completely the same. Been riding for years and id rather keep my bikes nice than come off them because im trying to wheelie them. Mind you, my h2 has over 260 whp and that thing wants to wheelie all the time.....
@Mark Cummings yea it was healtech one. I covered nearly 2000 miles in a week in Wales and hit multiple false neutrals every day. These bikes are known for it. Some people are like me and expensive them often and others never do, but I'm not sure how many have had false neutrals when using a quickshifter. A lot of people use the healtech and they are known as a quality product
@Mark Cummings I had a 16 and an 18 mate, had way more issues on my 18. The 16 slave cylinder gasket went but I didn't have any issues on that bike or any of my other bikes. My 18 was always hitting false neutrals between 1st and 2nd, 4th and 5th and 5th and 6th! The issue got worse in Wales when the bike was being ridden hard and it was hot
Is it just me or is your Go Pro focus shifting all of the time at the periphery? Seems to be trying to auto focus, and trees and hedges are confusing it?
@@poomuncherful I got to ride one about a quarter mile and it almost pooled mit arms from there sockets. It was my first V-Twin experience and it changed me.
Hello all! I was wondering, how does this bike handle commuting? I mean, is it really edgy at very low speed/traffic speed? I come from a 390 Duke and in 1st and 2nd gear it's sooo jerky it's really annoying. I know this is a single cyl too, but is it any different?
Less is more... At last - now if only Triumph would take the bait and do likewise.. We've got to get away from these behemoths weighing north of 500lbs.. My challenge to Triumph would be: make us a road bike - 650-900cc - that weighs less than 350lbs..
I'd be interested in TMF's view on this. I've recently traded my KTM 690 and the Husky seems quite similar. I suspect the gearing is different (larger rear sprocket perhaps). My 690 could certainly lift the front wheel but the Husky seems more lively judging by the video.
It's been a long time since I rode the KTM690 so it's difficult for me to judge - from what i can remember I'd agree with Alan, the Husky is more eager/lively...
The husky uses the same engine as the ktm, but its not the same. It has balancers internally which allow it to rev higher. But the character of the engine is the same really
TMF, why do you repeat the name of the bike so often in your "Top 5" video's? It really gets on my nerves for some reason. I know what bike it is, you just said it and the video has the title of it, and yet each section gets it at least twice...with a few times thrown in at the beginning and the end too! Tbh if this the only habit I find annoying then it's not much of a hardship, the rest of your material is superb!
These "Top 5" videos were originally intended as a parody of the David Letterman show where he repeats the same thing ad nausea.....I'm getting fed up with it too though so may have to stop..... :0)
@@TheMissendenFlyer thanks for taking the time to reply. Now I'm reminded why I stopped watching Letterman. These Top 5's are great apart from that btw, enjoyable and informative, don't want you to think I don't enjoy that. Appreciate the work that goes in to all the content you produce.
No problem - watching isn't compulsory! (BTW this is a Pi$$ take of the David Letterman show, that's why it's done like this and I repeat ad nauseum...).....
