Top 5 things to do in Porto, Portugal 

Good place to go to for beginning of Portugese Way of The Camino. We went to first to Fatima and then after to Valenca on the border with Spain where we started, me, my wife and our boys 3 & 6 years old, April 2023.

I recall Porto as very steep. I spent a lot of time climbing up and down. And it was full of tiny cats. But mainly it is a traditional starting point of the Caminho Portuguese. That means I saw a lot of the beaches there. They are nice. You walk along these wooden bridges along the water, with all of these gorgeous beaches. Lovely.

Speaking of TV shows. My favorite is White Collar - did you watch that? They filmed in NYC, and so my friend and I used the show as our "guide" to our 3rd vacation in the city. We simply went to as many locations from the show as possible to get away from the touristy track and see NYC from a different angle. That was pretty cool and we went everywhere from a boardwalk and a university way up in the Bronx to an industrial area in Long Island to random streets in Downtown Manhattan.

Great! Now I want to go to Porto! ;-) What did *I* do at Easter? Not much except meet with the neighbours on the beach where we cooked eggs, grilled frankfurters, drank beer and generally enjoyed a sunny day.

Cool, my country and my families' region of origin in Portugal before moving to US then, to Danmark.

I watch you livestream as a rerun, and I really like that Joshua finally true watching the sopranos got the thing about wearing a hat indoors! I really like your descriptions of you travel’s and there is no doubt that food takes up quit a bit of course besides the drinks. I have a suggestion to atopic that you might take up and that is hobbies, because some times you have mentioned it like Joshua’s playing the guitar or Miranda’s dollhouse collection or the Lego creations that you both from time to time has mentioned. Or perhaps a Sci-fi program since that has been mentioned to. Thanks for an always great entertainment.

Thanks for the Porto tour. We were there in 2019 and found it to be a very enjoyable city. Good exercise for sure and the food is pretty good too. Thanks for sharing your experience.

The market name was (probably) Bulhão, and I'm deeply sad that you didn't liked the Francesinha. Missed the visit to Torre dos Clérigos, and white Port (and red, among other variations) can also be found in some more larger Føtex 😉 (signed: Portuguese and ex Siteimprover 😅)

Never been to Porto, but would like to go. Have been in Spain a dozens of time.

Some years ago I visited Porto, and as a collector of Special Ports, I had high hopes! But sadly it was mostly exported also to Denmark, so anything but the most ordinary types was hard to find. We had a lunch in a farm with gigantic, but empty wooden barrels (No craftsmen to keep them tight any more!) so the actual wine was in anonymous, stainless metal tanks kept at other places. I also visited The Beach with the present Record High surf wave! But it was so flat that the few surfers hadn't any fun.

Have you tried the salumeria in Lyngby? It is called Da Basso, on the corner of Likørstræde.

Nice got the sandwich with the Beer Gravy. Also port wine is cheeper at the German border stores. than it is in the airport in Porto. For the same brand and age 10 and 20 years old ( if the have the Brand in that store ) found that out by buying port in the airport to. ( scam )

I worked throughout Easter, would have loved to go to Portugal, as it is a fabulous country! The people, the music, the architecture & the food 😳🥰 - Porto is one of my favorite cities, there too! 💚 If you ever have the opportunity to see a football game or a concert, at Estadio do Dragão...GO! I know, most people want to sit by the pitch, but I recommend going up into the bleachers, it is such an experience!! hello from Hundested 🌸

My (weird) dream: Vacation in a small Portuguese city and each morning just sit outside a café in the sun, and get my coffee there. Pretend reading in a Portuguese newspaper and just sit and relax for an hour or more. I have been thinking at this scenario for years, and why Portugal? I don't know. Maybe the language, I like the sound of Portuguese. I might travel down there in this fall, I have a good eye to Estoril.

I was in Porto a long time ago - the only thing I remember is that we ate watermelon filled with booze on the beach and they cost next to nothing

there's a fantastic steak restaurant in porto called boots and beer. best steak i ever had....
