Rest has been crucial for me. Especially when the nerve is hot. It’s tricky though because you can’t go from rest to no rest but you have to taper it off slowly. Ice works great too. I’ve tried to ice more often but it doesn’t do much. Best to do 5 minutes once/hour as you said & then don’t stop but again taper off. So grateful to have a formula for healing ♥️
I have thigh pain about four month and deep hio joint pain whenever m loyghing coughing aur turn back.now as per MRI says L5 S1 issue nd will be ok after surgry.what I do?plz help me on 1st july dr give me the date of surgery.
My pain is not exactly as you describe for sciatica; mine goes down the butt; really bad, to the sides of the thigh & calf; both legs but worse on one. Mine hurts when I touch it. So painful I cannot walk correctly
@@PT4Everybody I guess that is the hard part; figuring out what I have & if I can ever get better. I’ve been dealing with this in escalating fashion for almost 2 years.
I found your videos by searching sciatica and looking for possible relief. I was impressed that you don't give recipes but explain the science behind what you're talking about and building a context for your suggestions. I started with the things not to do first. I had been using heat and had exactly the response you described. Very quick relief followed a short while later by even more intense pain. I went back and started going through the sciatica series. One of the first exercises was the slump and lift of leg. I haven't stretched as much as I should so there was some discomfort from stretching. However, I don't think I have sciatica. Lower back pain is on the right side and pain will radiate to my right leg but the intensity of pain is in the front of my leg and around the knee cap, not the back. Any suggestions on where I should look for behavioral solutions? A lifetime ago I was a massage therapist which is like a PT (very) light. Your information has been in sync with what I remember and the simple changes of going to ice rather than heat and then making sure movements are as natural as possible have given me real relief. Thanks!
I recently had an MRI, and was diagnosed with sciatica. However my pain is in the front and outside of the left thigh, and it is excruciating upon standing up. I cannot stand without pushing myself up with my arms and having to hold on to something. Once I take a few painful steps it eases somewhat. This has been ongoing for at least a year. I’m doing the exercises, and I do cardio in the pool at the ymca three times a week. Once I’m in the pool and moving around there is no pain until I have to climb the ladder to get out of the pool. I avoid stairs as much as possible. My fear is falling. At my age (68) that is very scary. Any advice?
Good job keeping up with the cardio exercises at the YMCA 3 times per week! Since you had an MRI, what does the doctor say about the fact that your pain has not improved in 1 year?
I had hamstring injury near my knee 4 months ago and after 2-3 weeks of injury i started feeling pins and needles and shooting sharp pain behind my knee sometimes in my foot the pain was felt , i was immobilised initially for 3-4 weeks and was on bed with almost no movement in a brace due to misdiagnosis as ligament injury after that till now not able to walk have the same pain can’t straighten my leg and walk on it im so fed up plz help, even my calf got atrphied badly during that period now working on calf recently but what has caused my pain? It is behind knee sometimes im foot cant walk on straight leg or dorsiflex foot while leg straight help plz im so tired
I am so sorry! That is a rough story! It does sound like the pins and needles are being caused by the sciatic nerve based on your history. Wishing you the best in your recovery!
Hi ma'am good day please help me I don't know now how to do I have so much in pain and not totally able to walk cause I'm in pain ni my left bikini area, left lower back down to my leg to my knees.start in pain last feb this year until now I have taking many medicines,Unger go therapy but still pain is still in there
Is it sciatica if i only feel pain in the higher part of the glute? And its extremely painful when im sitting and try to touch my foot. But only in that area. Maybe also close to the column.
Could be sciatica but in that area there may be another issue. I would recommend consulting with a Manual Physical Therapist to understand more about what's going on with your body!
@@PT4Everybody thanks it worked last night. Do you know know why I now getting pain in my thigh as well as down side of my calf albeit on the same side. By the way I have stopped stretching too
