I was a fan of 30STM up until This is War. After that, it all just went downhill so fast. I saw them at Pinkpop Festival, and I was so shocked by how they acted. It wasn't a show, they used their time on stage to "refine" their set for the bigger festivals, like we were there to see them soundcheck. Long silent pauses in between songs, talking into microphones that where connected to their ear pieces so we couldn't hear them. It was so weird, and frankly, so disrespectful to not treat that crowd like they were fans of theirs. Just some people standing by while they were figuring out how to lay out their set. My uncle also worked backstage and told me about how Jared acted there. He was rude, disrespectful, treated everyone around him with his nose in the air, everything around him disgusted him. Later, I went to a "concert" (inside venue, not many people there, it was embarrassing) of them after Up in the Air came out with my then best friend because she never had seen them live. All we said to each other the whole evening was: my god, this is weird. Why are they dressed like that? WHERE THE FUCK IS TOMO? This isn't a band anymore, this is a duo. And a very fucking weird duo at that. They should just retire and go back to their weird cult. And then push that island far into to the ocean so we never have to see them again.
tomo streamed a few times on twitch his handle is the same as his instagram & etc (he & other peeps on his discord talked about what REALLY happened during & post mars in small details) he also played the violin once with a orchestra in his home state (idk if he partake in more of that), he owns a pizza place, and the last i've heard from tomo that hes getting into programming & etc
@@C_Shanty1993 he didn't actually disclose this publicly on twitter hence the letter he posted about his departure, what really happened was & i quote from tomo specifically "I was physically assaulted 17 times by Shannon when I was in that band and was threatened with not only legal problems if I ever mentioned anything" "I’ll never forget the day MGMT called me in to discuss the “grey hairs in my beard” and “wether or not I’m going to dye my beard” I put it in quotes because it’s verbatim. Hahahahaha" "I’ll never forget in Corsica one time I looked over because he missed an entire part of a song (a nightly occurrence) and after the song he got up, during the show, and walked over to my side and choked me out. I couldn’t swallow properly for one month afterwards and they told me if I mentioned anything publicly they would destroy me." "I mean look at me with the band. It’s the same thing. I simply REFUSED to become what they were becoming and boom, I don’t exist." and thats just the tip of the MARS iceberg i took these from tomo's discord with the intent for everyone seeing these (-TW: SA- also theres also alligations about jared being a dickish asshole - like what your uncle had described - & being seggually aggressive to females physically behind the scenes)
Honestly maybe Jared Leto should just stop doing really anything in general because it seems like he somehow get's worse and worse which is a shame because i remember when he was suppose to be the next big thing for movies and music
Again, his best roles were American Psycho, Thin Red Line, Fight Club, and Requiem for a Dream. And if you know about his roles in those movies, you might notice a pattern.
Thirty Seconds To Mars have one of the greatest debut albums of all time. That self-titled album is what they should've continued to evolve their sound off of; it was progressive, heavy, experimental, the lyrics and vocals were great, as was the production. Instead they've just become Ford commercial music.
I saw them open for Incubus before they were anything. They were handing out demos in the arena parking lot. The music was cool, and they were trying really hard to pump up the 50 of us who weren't at the concession stands, waiting for Incubus. It's like they've come full circle
@@rmaxtpmx Funny in that, Incubus being one of my top favorite bands have had kind of a downfall themselves. But absolutely nothing compared to 30STM, who even beat Maroon 5 as the worst downfall of a band in history... Seriously, tell me who have gone more downhill. It's unreal, and i'm sure it's because Jared has actually lost his mind.
Be aware that in 2023 when a band decides on "doing something different" on their next album, what they're really meaning is they're selling out and going pop.
@wdfmidevil. 30 Seconds To Mars are one of the most overrated bands of all time. They didn’t and never had a style, they wanted to do that fucking Emo thing when that awful genre was in trend, and then when that trend ended they didn’t know what to do so Jared concentrated on his acting stuff again. 30 Seconds To Mars was a vanity project from Jared that somehow managed to do well because that fucking Emo thing was in trend at the time. They remind me of Papa Roach tbh, trend followers, a band that just follows the in trend at the time.
@@nu-metalfan2654they were around for a while before 'that fucking emo trend', and that 'trend' had far better rock music than the majority of bands that claim to be rock bands nowadays. True 30STM hopped on the trend, but that’s not necessarily a poor reflection on anything, it’s actually smart and it worked; to a degree. They were still generic posers but at least a good album came out of it. There’s no denying that From Yesterday and Bury Me are amongst some of the best rock anthems from that era.
It really breaks my heart to see how far Thirty Seconds To Mars have fallen. The new album won’t quite top my WOTY list (because I have heard Ubiquitous by POM and The Album by The Jonas Brothers and I think both are worse), but unlike America where I didn’t hate that album anywhere near as much as everyone else and can defend a few songs on it (I still think it’s bad though), this album I cannot defend in the least bit. Avalanche is the only song that left any kind of positive impact on me (it’s a good song imo, but not a great one), and the rest is just abhorrently bad garbage. The switch over to Pop has been a disaster from start to finish and while I hope they return to what made them good in the 2000s, at this point I don’t see it happening. Jared Leto is too far up his own tushy to make anything less than nonsensical, awful, and boring music. I say this as a genuine fan of the band’s old work, Thirty Seconds To Mars…get better…or go away forever.
When I saw rush on this list I thought it was the band Rush that had singer and bassist Geddy Lee and guitarist Alex lifeson and made hit songs like Tom Sawyer, Spirit of the radio, etc.
You know it's a shame about Staind because if they just had another singer that didn't sound like he wanted to be anywhere else but there i really feel like Staind could be a great band that more would probably respect more for their talent
The 2011 Staind album was pretty good IMO. Unfortunately the latest one went back to the boring sound they had embraced for a decade after their debut album.
@koneheadcokehead4981. Staind’s first 3 studio albums are not that bad though, Dysfunction is their heaviest and best album, Break The Cycle is one of the best Rock albums of 2001, and 14 Shades Of Grey was decent. Everything after that though is a no from me.
Yep, and they deserve it. HARDY's album is objectively worse than 30SFM's, in my opinion, but the saving grace for HARDY's album is that it's unintentionally rip-roaringly hilarious in how serious HARDY is with all his flexing.............which does give the listening experience some entertainment value with how pathetic it all is and how much of the self-parody makes you belly laugh. With 30SFM's, on the other hand.............it has no entertainment value. It's just utterly empty, full stop.
Wolves at the Gate recently made an excellent post-hardcore cover version of the old 30STM song “Attack” if you want to hear something actually good associated with them this year.
I remember attending a 30STM concert years ago and Jared openly admitted in the set to forgetting how to play and sing the majority of his bands earlier works. He couldn't remember Oblivion when the audience requested it lol. 30 STM is a band that's heavily fallen from grace. They've completely forgotten what they were supposed to be about and the magic that made their earlier albums work well is now a shell of its former self. It would be better now for them to either fully admit they are now an experimental-pop act at best or to just hang it up so not to further disdain their earlier music. With that said, I think it would be cool to see you do a video about their crash and burn process Luke. I think a lot of what has happened with Jared and crew needs to be showcased and highlighted. If the band doesn't like it, well who cares cause that video would rack up views for sure.
The thing with Maneskin is, they are a very talented young band who write great lyrics in their native language (Italian) and can write interesting music - look the album they were popularising during Eurovision, Teatro d'ira - hard rock, metal in some places. But then, they became uber famous and came to the US. Apparently they don't have someone to tell them that they don't need to listen to everything American music industry tells them, because Rush sounds so manufactured for the most parts, like a group of writers gathered and decided to write the most generic "young person rock". Also, English is not their first language and it shows in the lyrics - they are a looot mor simplistic compared to the Italian ones. The band themselves have said that they have written most of the songs while in LA and a look at the track list reveals that the only songs they have written alone are the three Italian ones, which for me are the best out of the album.
my thoughts exactly. they’re a great band that is insanely talented, but it definitely seems like LA producers are trying to pigeonhole them into a specific niche they can and have done so much better than
I haven't really heard any bad albums this year per-say, but 30 Seconds to Mars wins my "I'm not listening to that" award. After that load of dump that was AMERICA left a sour taste in my mouth, and ever since Tomo quit the band, 30 Seconds to Mars are not a rock band anymore, just straight up. If anything, it makes the Self-Titled album and A Beautiful Lie feel that much more special, because you know we're never going to get albums like that again. And yeah, I've had just about enough of Jared Leto as well.
Maneskin’s last album was promising, so it sucks to see them release a lackluster follow up. I do think the band has potential to be great, but they wasted it here. I like their style, though, and I wish their music would match up with it whilst upping the ante in quality.
Man they were really onto something with Il Ballo Della Vita, I enjoyed that album a lot. Then I sat down to listen to Rush and felt absolutely nothing.
I honestly had no idea Puddle of Mudd released an album this year. Then again, I don't go all my way to see if they released any new material this year either.
The only press announcement for their new album came when Wes Scantlin denied a Michigan venue to play there despite it being set up months in advance only to cancel a week before the album came out. PoM has since been banned from ever playing that venue since the band, and to that extension Wes himself, handled this poorly and unprofessionally. There has been absolutely 0 coverage about it otherwise.
@@Volkaroar A few news sites covered it, But there was next to no promotion on any of the official band pages. The last I heard is that there was a shakeup in the management which heavily contributed to this album's lack of promotion + cancellation of shows, But that was back in September and there's been no updates since then. Wes has resorted to using his personal Twitter (With like 1K followers) + the official Facebook page to promote the album which makes me think that neither he or the rest of the band has access to the rest. Puddle Of Mudd TV is a fan account but idk who owns the Twitter and Instagram.
It's for the better. I don't think anybody was really thinking about how 2023 was going and saying "man, know what we could use? Another Puddle of Mudd album, that's what!"
Any standouts? I’m going through a phase of listening to Marilyn Manson's Antichrist Superstar and Mechanical Animals albums. They’re amazing but I need some new stuff to get into
Most of these albums were on my "I'm not listening to that!" list. I only heard the Maneskin album and I had completely forgotten about it when I heard it back in January or whenever it dropped.
When Legends Rise did far more damage to their reputation than this one will ever have a chance at doing. It was undeniably successful but it split the fanbase in half and chased away most of the die-hards that were fans since the first album. In comparison I haven't seen nearly as much disdain towards LUTS even if it's considered one of the weaker albums. (Though it's not as disliked as WLR and IV) Though if we're being real it's only the first three albums that people love, Everything else just kind of exists.
I liked both albums. Sure, there are some bad songs, but there are some real bangers, too. It's does not compare to there earlier work, but after writing music 25 years, what else is there to say.
I was at the Royal Rumble in San Antonio earlier this year. Man, Hardy’s performance maybe the worst music performance I’ve ever heard. I’m not the only one, everyone was booing on how bad it was. It was rough to say the least.
@@venomousnate7263 oh ouch. That's the worst insult I think any human being can ever receive. Outside of being mentioned in the same sentence as Kid Rock.
All kinds of bad. Seriously sucked the energy clean out of the room. Liked it this year over all but i could live a thousand lifetimes without remembering that part of the show
Tbh, even though they were already becoming a discount U2 around the time, 30STM died when 'Hurricane' was released. Everything went down the toilet from there, and Jared Leto lost it completely by 2018. I'm just surprised they even still exist at this point, even though it's basically only Jared with Shannon only along because yeah
As a Eurovision fan and someone who found Måneskin through Eurovision, I get a lot of the criticism for Rush (even if there are some parts of it I quite like). One thing that drew me to them during Eurovision (that I didn’t realize until I listened through their whole discography) was that they kept their typical style for Eurovision. Eurovision songs can have a reputation for being the most polished/widely accepted version of an artist in order to generate interest, but Maneskins song Zitti E Buoni still fit in with the rest of their discography at the time (up until Teatro Dira V1). Rush did feel like it was more of an attempt to spread their sound to a wider audience, which makes sense given their rise to popularity, but was a noticeable shift from some of their past stuff. I’m still very excited for future releases.
I teach music once a week at Long & McQuade here in Canada and have a student that LOVES Godsmack. I had no idea they had released a new album and remembered always liking them as a kid. But, when I put the title track on from the new record. It just felt... dull and lifeless. Taught the song and all that, but I did make sure to try to steer him towards "The Other Side". Now, THAT is an awesome acoustic/Godsmack album!
The Måneskin album made me sad. I think a few of the album’s songs are decent but Bla Bla Bla, Cool Kids, and Mammamia are so bad it ruins the album. I do like Gasoline, Il Dono Della Vita, and La Fine though. They have potential but RUSH! is… mid… :/
I was okay with 30 seconds to Mars constantly changing genres. But this is the album where i said enough is enough. Literally not going back to a single track, theres just no hook anymore.
I'm still shocked that I was ever interested in any 30 Seconds to Mars material to begin with. Aside from maybe their very earliest stuff which was fine, the rest I never want to assault my ears with.
30StM’s self titled debut will always be an album above the rest. After that, Jared Leto and co. started to chase trends in order to stay relevant, albeit A Beautiful Lie has its gems.
To me A Beautiful Lie is their best album or most popular, either that or This Is War. First album is pretty decent, but imo pretty underrated and not that talked about.
As an italian guy: f### maneskin. This band is becoming the rock band for people that don't care about rock, and that just passively happen to listen to it on the radio.
Musicians trying to appeal whatever social media topic, is killing good music. Everything is now about Tik Tok, or followers, or views, not about making good music.
True. You don’t know how many times I heard a song that sounded like it was trying to pander to someone. It has become harder to find music that would withstand the test of time.
Honestly, the only album start to finish that I love by 30 Seconds to Mars is the debut. I like songs from the next couple albums fine but there's a weird charm about the debut that has never been topped, at least for me. I had zero enthusiasm or faith in the band after that album they had around 2017 or so, so I wasn't surprised this newest album had everyone roasting it.
With hindsight it really seems like winning that Oscar was the worst thing for both Jared’s movie and music career. Being honest, I thought “Stuck” was ok and at least them going back to the 2013 sound (definitely not my favorite but better than anything since) and yeah the full album is just a big blob of bleh. It’s really disappointing how a band that used to be one of my favorites is decaying into a Maroon 5-like shell of themselves. I’ll still at least recommend their first two albums to people. Really hate how they barely acknowledge their debut outside obligatory anniversary posts, that album deserves much more attention.
Thirty Seconds To Mars pretty much ceased being a rock band with Love Lust Faith + Dreams and switched genres to dance-pop. There were maybe a couple of songs that still could be classified as rock, but they continue to commit to that direction. Their guitarist Tomo got tired of having nothing to play and wound up leaving the band. I'm honestly surprised Shannon still sticks around since I hear little resembling actual drums on their current material.
I will agree with you on Maneskin, there's maybe one or two songs on that album that I like, but the rest of the tracks and album as a whole is rather dull and forgetful. As for 30STM I loved their very early stuff - that's until Jared Leto started with his antics including the used condoms on the movie set, the bizarre camp in Croatia(I think) where everyone had to dress up like a Jonestown cult, and while I nearly went to one of their concerts which luckily didn't happen I've heard Jared is a complete knob at live shows interacting with fans. And yeah the last few albums are sh*t.
So many good albums in the underground heavy metal scene this year... Helm's Deep, Tower Hill, Thriller to name a few bands. Like an exact opposite of the mainstream in quality.
I'll be honest, I actually like the new Waterparks album, though you did make some valid points on it that's seriously making me reconsider my full opinion on it.
I actually love the new waterparks record. I'm a little surprised to see it here - as far as i can tell, most of the fandom loves it. Ah well. Can't please everyone.
I still prefer Maneskin because they're silly compared to generic metalcore stuff like From Ashes To New and current era Atreyu. Also, no Greta Van Fleet? Apperantly, Starcatcher was a MASSIVE disappointment.
Man, the last two albums for 30STM have been just trash. I LOVE their first few albums. But man, has his own hype gotten to Leto's head. I really think he's bigger than he really is at this point. Also, who the fuck is Hardy?
My Top 5 Worst Albums of 2023: 5. Somewhere Between the Power Lines and Palm Trees by Dog Star 4. On The Prowl by Steel Panther (Sorry, Steel Panther's gimmick has worn out and a lot of their early material has aged poorly) 3. Lighting Up The Sky by Godsmack 2. A Gradual Decline In Morale by Kim Dracula 1. It's the End of the World but It's a Beautiful Day by Thirty Seconds to Mars
For me, the worst album of the year was that… Thing that Roger Waters released that he claims is dark side of the moon. I’m not saying it was as bad as Doug Walker’s the wall, but it’s up there
Speaking from the perspective of someone that is a Puddle Of Mudd fan... Ubiquitous might very well be the worst album they've ever released. Though idk since Volume 4 has songs like "Spaceship" that I hate with a burning passion. I mean really, The album isn't all bad but it's a complete mess of stitched together demos and B-Sides that sound unfinished. It's clear that all of the production/writing credits went to Cash & Cobain and nothing else. I can't even give credit to "Dance With Me" and "U Wrekd Me" because those songs were recorded/mixed/mastered back when the band was still with Geffen. And surprise surprise... They're the only songs that are worth hearing. Granted, I still wouldn't put this album in the Top 5 Worst of the year, But it's not good. At best I'd recommend plucking out "Dance With Me", "U Wrekd Me", And maybe "Candy", "Man In The Mirror", "Complication". And then just seeking out the 1994 Stuck EP instead, That EP already had "Poke Out My Eyes" and a ton more songs worth hearing over this mediocrity. (And after that I'd check out 1997's Abrasive but call it quits afterwards) As far as the actual list is concerned: Staind - Confessions of the Fallen | I haven't listened to it yet, But I did like "Lowest In Me" and "Hear And Now" Butcher Babies - Eye For An Eye... | Nah I ain't touching this AJR - The Maybe Man | Never heard anything from AJR, And I'd like to keep it that way. Maneskin - Rush! | Not for me, So idk Waterparks - Intellectual Property | Yeah idk what to say tbh Godsmack - Lighting Up The Sky | Nah, I quite liked this album and think it's better than When Legends Rise, 1000hp, and IV. Sonically it's nothing crazy but lyrically it hits pretty hard and I legit cried while listening to the title track. My only gripe really is that "Red, White and Blue" doesn't fit with the rest of the tracks thematically. Outside of that it was my comfort album for 2023. (That and my friend used the title track in a video that mirrored my quitting video and made me ball my eyes out, So that also happened) Hardy - The Mockingbird & The Crow | I haven't heard this since the beginning of the year, But I liked it a fair amount. Hardy's far more talented than Kid Rock by a country mile and nothing on this album is as laughable as everything he's made. Thirty Seconds To Mars - It's The- Idgaf | I don't even need to listen to it in order to say that it's total garbage.
Thank you for making this video. 30STM is coming next year to my country (I live in South America) aside Blink and other artists. Thanks for warning me. I have it clear now. I'm not going to their show.
As a huge Smashing Pumpkins fan, I'm shocked you didn't list their stinker Atum. Incredbily bloated, "a rock opera in three acts" (playing fast and loose with the word rock) that Billy Corgan claimed was always part of a trilogy in his head for Mellon Collie, Machina, and now this. Right. Sure. Godawful.
I’ll be honest and say I still like early albums from Godsmack and 30STM, but both bands really DROPPED off a cliff quality-wise. I can see the appeal of Godsmack being a touring act now, but Mars….. they need to just quit making music altogether. 🤮
I had never heard of Hardy when he showed up at the Royal Rumble. My first impression was "he looks like you washed Kid Rock" and when he performed sold out my response was "he sounds like it too"
He's even a slightly inferior clone to Kid Rock because as terrible as Kid Rock may be, at the very least you can begrudgingly acknowledge Kid Rock was a trendsetter when he initially emerged into the mainstream. HARDY doesn't even have that solitary bragging right.
Rush was a huge disappointment, I listened to it maybe twice (with at least 2 songs I skip because it's too cringe) and never felt the need to return to it again.
"Today is the greatest day that I've known". Sounds like he tried to quote a line from The Smashing Pumpkins and could'nt even be bothered to get it right.
That probably explains in large part why "SOLD OUT" really struggled climbing the Mainstream Rock airplay chart after his debut hard rock single "JACK" had no problem moving all the way up to #2...............because it immediately overexposed him as both a gimmick and a carpetbagger. I just don't see a future for HARDY on hard rock radio, frankly.
Did not listen to any of these albums you mentioned. Staind, 30STM, Godsmack lost me years ago. You're right. If my favorite band puts out a garbage album, I will not be buying it and not going to defend it. If it sucks, it sucks.
Ok 2 things I got, I liked Confessions. Thought that was a pretty good Staind album HOWEVER, I can see how someone might not like it. I thought some of it was cool. The Hardy slander though, I can't just sit here and hear it lmao. Ok some of the songs I get it, corny cliches. Others like "wait in the truck" or the title track are great song writing and story telling. "Jack" was clever and on the nose at the same time. "screen" was a very good song as well. Not to mention fun songs spread out. Also, I can tell you really didn't listen to "Sold Out" just by how you described the song lol. Outside of that gripe, as usual you do a great job with these videos!
@@nightshadowgack7736 never got the hate myself they are a good band, and yes they did in fact release an album this year and i'm glad it wasn't on there.
OMG, I so glad someone else sees Hardy for fake pandering crap with it is. Some people can work between genres and it's honest and sincere, like Jellyroll. This is just bad country and bad rock thrown together. UGH.
I honestly thought Intellectual Property was about on the same level as all of Waterparks other albums. There were a couple songs I thought were good, and a lot that’s wasn’t my thing. They’re definitely meant for middle schoolers and high schoolers (which isn’t a bad thing- it makes me think about how much I liked Cobra Starship and FTSK back then). I also feel like they have been trying to do trending things since their first albums-hence why they’re not my cup of tea. I still don’t think it deserves to be on this list though.
@@jesurenbnbid say out of albums its close with entertainment but even both of those are still leagues better than their ep’s which still have some good songs ngl
It’s that time again. Here are my thoughts on the albums here. I’ve also haven’t heard AJR, Puddle of Mudd or Staind. Those bands don’t deserve any attention cause you know they’re bad. Maneskin- I haven’t heard Rush in full but I’ve heard a few songs in passing. They aren’t bad? Are they really that bad of a band and is the album really that bad to be worst of the year? Waterparks- As someone who was a fan of Waterparks, this album was very bad and disappointing and made me not a fan anymore. It’s like if Mean Girls was music Godsmack- Garbo album. Lazy right wing pandering album I’ve heard. I don’t wanna hear them again Hardy- Haven’t heard album from Kid Rock 2.0. Never will. Radio Song sucks balls 30STM- The absolute worst album I’ve heard in years. The most complete lifeless, soulless, out of touch reality album I’ve heard. No amount of Morbin can save this
I did like some of the songs on Confessions of the Fallen, like “In This Condition” and the self-titled track. Other than that, the rest of the album is pretty much filler.
I’m honestly surprised that Måneskin was on here, I thought the album was actually pretty damn solid and songs like Gasoline, Own My Mind, Supermodel and Mammamia are all great but I do admit that Cool Kids didn’t really click with me since I didn’t get the lyrics either so I can understand the argument overall (also semi-fun fact but the singer of Måneskin is a week older than I am (January 8, 1999 (him) vs. January 14 ‘99 for me)
A7x and Snooze Ticket have released by far the worst metal albums I've heard in a while. And this is coming from someone who LIVES FOR weird and experimental metal. They just don't do it right, there's zero musical depth beneath the surface.
Hi! Italian Eurovision lover here! I can't stand that album either. Here in Italy they use some of the songs in ad... And now I just have a baaad reaction when I hear them. I'll add that, after meeting a group of "friends" that were obsessed by Måneskin I can't even hear "Zitti e Buoni" without getting a little but nervous, so yes, there's probably a lot of bias in my opinion!
Oof, Lighting Up The Sky is probably my favorite Godsmack album. I am a huge fan of them and Sully's solo work, and this, to me was a great way to end out
The entire Godsmack section of this video just sounds like someone angry about Sully's politics. Which, whatever. I'm not going to Godsmack for the biting social commentary (also see: Green Day).
This is for Rocked or any rock fans in the comments: I've been out of the loop for a bit. I'm a Chevelle, Foo Fighters, Shinedown kind of guy. Who's around in the 2020s that I may not know about?
Hmmm... I'd check out the latest releases from Abrams, Bombus, Cyhra, Mammoth WVH, Mustasch, Plush, Royal Blood, Beachdog, Dead Sara, Jacket Thief... all different but melodically focused hard/alt-rock bands
It deeply disappoints me how far Godsmack has fallen. I've hopped off the wagon shortly after 1000HP and never looked back because I was starting to see what they were becoming. And When Legends Rise, confirmed that. I've not heard a single track from this album, but everything I've gathered about it, all signs just point south. It's sad that they've elected to go out on a whimper, however a part of me still thinks that one day, they'll be back up again after realizing that this album is not what they've wanted to go out on. Still makes me glad I've stopped being a fan, made me not really care as much about them stepping back.
Godsmack is still awesome and one of the best bands ever, their music is still great and When Legends Rise was a great album. I've seen them live and they were awesome. So they definitely don't deserve backlash.
Man when 30STM dropped 'Stuck' I knew it was gonna be a generic shitshow. They really could’ve come back with a blast but they couldn’t even be bothered making good album art for the cover
Let me tell ya, I forgot that Godsmack album came out. Don’t recall a song. I even thought it was from last year. That’s how much of a forgettable throwaway that crappy album was.
That 30 Seconds to Mars album is simultaneously boring and disappointing... 1/10 for that one holy sh**. Huge, HUGE shame cause their first two albums KICK ASS! Oh and that Maneskin album is grating... But i bet they will come out with better albums within this decade. Well i can only hope... But i never wanna hear Mama Mia sang that way ever again.
Måneskin is the next Greta Van Fleet. A flash in the pan act that is hyped as the saviors of rock, before immediately crashing down. Terrible, no, just nothing special.
I was excited for godsmack album. I was disappointed with the previous one, and I thought that album was gonna make up for it. I couldn’t find one good song. 2014 album was so bad ass, probably one best albums they’ve released. I stopped with 30STM after their 2nd album.
I listened to quite a large number of new albums in '23, as I do every year. Not a single one of these records was even on my "give it 30 seconds and see if anything I hear encourages me to explore this further" list.
