Well done for highlighting the many bugs that suck the fun out of playing stfc, if I was filling in a survey I'd have forgotten some of them, you managed to get most of them into your video. There's also the times that the zoom bug rears its head, and sometimes when you're playing the game that it will crash forcing the game to be relaunched, other times that when changing a ship it will freeze on the new ship screen and the only fix is to restart the game. With the new wave defence, around 30% of the time I get kicked out of the game as the defence starts, the game has to be restarted losing time while the hostiles are making their way to the centre of the system. Scopely really REALLY need to sort out the bugs and instabilities in this game, I have refused to reward them with me buying battlepasses because of the instabilities, and from what Rev Duece has said, some of the big spenders have stopped spending too for the same reasons, instability and poorly implemented event launches. Scopely have to better or people will find other games that cause less frustration, playing the game is supposed to be fun but the fun has been getting less as time has gone on.
Agree on yours top 5. All the stability issues you described happen to me and I only use an iPhone or my iPad. Them telling us it’s on our end is getting really old.
Since it came out on PC, I believe they attempted to make it more of a PC game. That caused problems on mobile devices that didn't have the horsepower to handle it. From Jan 2023 to Jan 2024, the stability on my iPhone and iPad went down month after month after month. It went from crashing every 12-15 minutes to every 2-3 minutes. It was literally unplayable. The problem is, it lacks the qualities to be a good PC game and it is now an unplayable mobile game. There is no category where it is good. It just plain sux at both categories.
I agree with all this. I think the loops and time commitment can't be understated. If I'm not grinding most of my free time on the game then I am going to lose out or get behind on the game. Everything seems to have a loop now and it's a min 10-15 min loop for everything if not more. It's just becoming too much and getting close to not worth the grind. I hate the surprise sms or leaderboards. Why use anything until they say mentality sucks because that's boring. Why grind for hours a day to not sure any of it. Ohhh wow so boring.
Let players graduate from certain content. Call it Mastery. For example, once you achieve a certain level with the Botany Bay and mining Data, you're done. You never have to do it again. That little drip of Independent Credits from the exchange in the faction store? Things of long term value like that are just added to a 24 hour "Mastery Chest" that you would get free... forever. That's your reward for achieving Mastery. Now you never have to mine data or do the faction store exchange again. 1. If you are going to be constantly adding new tasks every arc, you have to retire some older ones. 2. Adding the Mastery Reward will reduce the 20-30 minutes it takes just to collect all the shhh... crap, do refinery, and make daily faction exchanges. It's completely ludicrous at this point.
