Great video. I just watched it five months later. I am a Level 42 and having trouble. I never got an Enterprise I chose the Augur. I cannot seem to get ISS Jelly shards, where are they? Should I go back and get an Enterprise? I have a Monaveen, a Voyager, an Eviscerator, an NX01, Talios. My Monaveen is 13 mill, Voyager 10 mil, Stella is weak, Mantis 4 mill. Thoughts?
Heya, I probably wouldn't spend any faction credits for an Enterprise at this point, you'll eventually get some from Armada chests and stuff over time, Same with the ISS Jelly, you'll either get through chests or if your alliance has Territory you can get through that, but at lvl 42 now the new Faction ship at that level will become much better than any of those old ships. The Monaveen is probably decent to do dailies and grinding for now until you've got one of those.
Excellent list! Good to hear what some of the early/mid-level ships can do, especially Meridian and Mantis. Thank you for putting this together. A couple places where my experiences differ from yours: My Franklin has been a very solid swarm raider up to Lvl 32s, which is the max level I need for dailies at the moment. My Intrepid, though admittedly slow, has been a very consistent hostile grinder. I've made her especially tanky against hostile survey ships, which was very helpful for reputation grinding. She typically lasts longer than my Saladin, and at present (OPS 33 going on 34) is my strongest ship. Admittedly, I'm not that big on PVP, so my priorities are different from yours.
Thinking about officer abilities that sometimes can be boosted with Pike etc and sometimes not. Anything that activates at round start seems a no go. Definitely something that is confusing. Try Pike Moreau and Lorca for 100% hull breach. But other officers that you may want to boost like Ro Mudd does not work. And which abilities in base defence are worth boosting. Maybe worth a video?
Given how the PvP meta has changed with the advent of apex-barrier, would you reevaluate the 50+ ships? Fights now will last longer, mostly in PvP, but somewhat in PvE as well. Any thoughts on it?
I just quit STFC after 9 days, when I discovered it was just a constant grind game. No interesting fighting, strategy, and randomness, which I like. Also, was looking for game to play with my wife, where we could go on adventures together.
I guess what I'm saying is they aren't essential either. As sources of mining research increased in the game, officer abilities didn't keep up in comparison. So using the same ship without a mining crew and with a full correct mining crew produces a different of only several percentage points. Mostly becuase you're adding a bonus of like 100-300% to a pre-existing bonus from the ship and research of 5000%
@@EnderSword the mining officers are an essential way of increasing the opc values. That means you can mine nodes without going opc. It frustrates those who have the same underlying psychology as child molesters and like to play pirate.
Very timely. Details did matter. For people who focus is nothing but ships, this is going to be a wake up call. They need to spend time on Crew development and research.
If you get shards for the "useless" ones, level them up. Their level is added to the total officer level needed to upgrade the mess hall avix's 30 points are just as valuable as grush's
The Aquatics need another look, somethings off with them. A 52er in my alliance regularly kills 6-8 Battleships daily with Epic, data and Janeway at tier2. That shouldn't be possible.
I've had very streaky cases with it, where I've killed like 10 in a row, but in the long run is does still seem to be about 30%, I made 92 attempted kills today and ended up with 24 Instadeaths, which is about 26%, but I also got a streak of 8 success and 9 successes which should be very very unlikely, like 1 in 50,000 unlikely. So I bet there's some mechanism making it occur in streaks somehow but the overall percentage seems still right
@@EnderSword I have no proof but it seems to me that when there's a higher gap between player level and aquatic than the chance of the gun firing decreases. I'm getting killed after 3 at most consistently yet higher levels tell me again and again that they can do a whole bunch of low-level BBs and I saw it happening as well.
I think Voyager might be S tier for the refinery, farming huge amount of messages, and especially the ability to punch up on armada credits with support from your high level alliance members.
Cerritos is my fav 2nd ship for waves. after a while it does decent damage, plus allowing you to buff yourself and alliance people during waves is unmatched. (im also a 39 camper with a t8 cerritos). using things like max fortify/cerritos buff are often overlooked. as long as your ship doesn't blow up, the buff stays.. so if you're say.. grinding SOL, just go live in Wolf and recall at low hp instead of blowing up.

lol, I guess, game's kind of moved on from that a lot, shouldn't bother investing in cloak or even doing any of those dailies until much later. Things like that can just be a drain on faction credits

Heya, I actually just hit 62. No, I don't have any of the 58 ones, I don't want to spend credits on them, and the highest I've got is 150 out of 350 BPs on the Vrax. They seem to be useful for the 60+ mining, but I just got 2 Selkies so far and it seems ok without the others.
@@EnderSword Ah, the Selkies are 61, right? They must be almost as good as the 58s even as low tear. Are you gunna do a video again when you hit 63 and get the Akira? :)

Talios will grow into a very high power ship due to her strong health but for the 30s,40s defiant has the better range and far better firing sequence which makes her the best pvp ship for Carol crew I was re-living the glory days of Saladin hitting twice my size at incursion and my victims didn't know what happened 😂
TYVM for the video. The crew test was nice with a maxed brel. Would be nice to see your research tree, what artifacts used, command center and who's in the seat, etc.. etc.. I'm ops41 have 95% research completed, need ops 42+ to unlock more research, etc..etc.. I've tried your crews but in a maxed Enterprise and still 0 kills. There's more to tell your viewers so please do so instead of barely scratching the surface about the topic at hand.
I am 115 and my root and pestilence persistent breaks in about 5-10 seconds when I root rot. I have flesh to venom and is that considered DD. I am checking to make sure than none of my augs are DD also. Any suggestions?
Yes, I did watch the whole Video.. lol Thanks much for all the work you put into things and your Insights.. It does make planning ahead so much better... I would not be so down on the miners since, they are especially crucial to the game economy... But I see you are spot on with a lot of your picks... Planning ahead is the best thing you can do in this game since it is more about the Economy ( Making Spenders Spend) Than anything else... "Live Long and Prosper"
Prime station resource efficiency at 99 of the moneys becomes more and more valuable as soon as you go operations 50 and above. Steel becomes a serious bottleneck and this prime makes it all much more doable.
This was for the specific event that day only which discouraged punching up, people were killing several thousand of the ships in order to top the leaderboard since they were all valued the same amount, so punching at your own level wasn't a good strategy. I did however show the lvl 57 and 59 Enemies too to show how they worked, but for the SLB that specific day they'd be bad targets. But understanding the burning mechanic applies to all levels, high or low
I agree with all this. I think the loops and time commitment can't be understated. If I'm not grinding most of my free time on the game then I am going to lose out or get behind on the game. Everything seems to have a loop now and it's a min 10-15 min loop for everything if not more. It's just becoming too much and getting close to not worth the grind. I hate the surprise sms or leaderboards. Why use anything until they say mentality sucks because that's boring. Why grind for hours a day to not sure any of it. Ohhh wow so boring.
my plan on my recently new F2P account is on faction ships go legion then centurion you can see the pattern not much crystal on those ships then enterprise and legion and centurion are rom so il be able to save my fed credit for enterprise miners envoy then horizon then 3 amalgams can get legion in event store of a battle pass same as centurion i think centurion takes 2 of them BPES
i strongly disagree with your choice of lv26 faction ships mayflower is the worst you can use a vahklas while working on your franklin instead D3 ya ok but legion i would put B i strongly regret getting the mayflower on my main i dont regret the legion or D3
