It's been almost 3 months I fractured my radial wrist bone and the swelling has never gone down so when I do these exercises I don't get the flexion I need because the skin is so tight what should I do
I broke my wrist and had my cast removed 2 months ago. I went back to the doctor because of stiffness and pain. After some X-rays, they said it all looked good and to just give it time. No mention of therapy😩. This video has been extremely helpful for my recovery!! My wrist literally felt 5 times better after the first session! Thanks for the help!!!
Hi ,I have hair line fracture of my rt radius( had splint for 1 wk then replaced witha cast for 3 wks) is it enough time for me to start doing those exercises? are those exercises ok for me to do 4 wks post injury? Thank you
I broke my left distal radius 11weeks ago now had ORIF and a plate inserted. I have maybe 7-10degree flex upwards and 20degree down plus the very last knuckles (end of fingers) do not want to touch my palm I cannot make a full fist yet. I was meant to start physio over a month ago but because of an inconclusive follow up x-ray I had to wait few weeks for CT now I have to wait another month. My main issue was the splint was too tight and over my knuckles! It was meant to come off at the 6-8week stage but because of the time scale and just how I comfortable it was I took it off about a week ago. Since then ROM has improved alot but it's still very stiff and sometimes like a dull warm pain is present when I try flex 🥵 Btw I am in the UK hence the waiting time ha but no seriously this is hell I have no aftercare apart from 'keep wiggling your fingers'
Hi I broke my wrist 20th Dec 2021. .had it in a cast for 5 weeks now I have it in a splint doing your exercises every day How long do you think it will take for my wrist to completely recover? 💕💕

@@VirtualHandCare Thank you so much for replying. Your videos are awesome. I just had a wrist fracture. The cast is off for three weeks. The cast was extremely tight. And they did not leave me enough room. For my thumb. Movement or even my fingers so. I'm getting some range of motion back really, really well, but I have some other problems with tendon pain on the top of my hand. And. Yeah, your videos are really helping, so I might book a virtual visit with you. In the near future. I'm even having issues with my elbows. So it's just a lot all at once. And happening. Upon your videos has been awesome.
I am poor. I want to do the exercises u r teaching. But for GRIP which one is suitable. We hv spent rs 11th already. Only the grip function is needed. I fell and hurt my hand near the wrist on 2nd march 2022. 6 months is over. No money for the further Therapy. 20 days therapy is done. Much improvement. I am not afraid of my hand.
Why don't you bend the wrist the opposite way? My flexion is good going downwards but it still hurts to bend the wrist upwards (In a cast for 3 weeks for fractured hand/thumb) Got 6 screws and a plate in my hand now. Thank you, your videos are actually a life saver.
Scaphoid fracture team here! plus two other hand fractures as well...after 12 weeks on cast this feels great! Thank you so much! Fast Recovery to everyone here!!
i am here again doing hand exercises. some times hard to believe that my fingers had become so stiff honestly i thought i have to live with this pain for the rest of my life. but one day suddenly you pop up showing very good and effective exercises. i was not able to to put my fingers on key board now i am typing. thanks lot michelle. God bless you.
Hi I have been following some of your videos a few days now. On the 28 of October I fell and broke my right wrist, (distal radius fracture) my hand was in a cast and came off on the 13 of December. My first therapy was on the 17 of December of last year, then after that two days per week, so far I have 6 sessions ,I'm doing a lot better but my question I'm still having trouble making a fist, what can I do to help
OMG!! I had my cast removed less than a week ago, and was too lazy/ scared to start therapy. I did these exercises just now and I see a HUGE improvement in my fingers' movements! Thank you thank you thank you!!
Great moves . Thank you. I'm in my 6th week of PT for broken wrist . Your additional exercises have been a great addition. I'm 64 and I'm improving for sure , now also working on upper arm and shoulder for stiffness due to immobilization. Thank God for Physical Therapy 😄
Thanks a ton. Getting benefitted while exercising daily post fracture of Rt Radius. Please advice if wrist band is necessary for strengthening the wrist.
Just.....YES! This is fantastic! Cast off (2) days ago... s/p Scapholunate ligament rupture. I was NOT prepared for the amount of stiffness I am experiencing. I already started seeing PT and will use these exercises to supplement what I am doing.
You’re videos are excellent. Your explanations and demonstrations are far more helpful than the last month of occupational therapy that I ‘ve had since I broke my wrist and a plate and 6 screws were put in. Thank you so much. The stiffness is finally starting to flex in my wrist and fingers. I highly recommend your videos!
Just had surgery about a month ago and got my cast off 3 days ago starting PT I had the bad luck of a non displaced scaphoid fracture in the proximal pole 🥲 anyways I’m doing better there is still pain and a little swelling but I definitely have a much greater range of motion it’s only been day 3 of physical therapy but I can now bend my wrist down about 70° and up at 45° I’m doing these exercises along with the one from PT and they seem to be doing good for right now. Will update in 5 weeks when PT is over the doc said it is healing well but still no heavy lifting until after PT and then probably another 2-4 weeks of rest and training with light weight on my left side. After that I’m hoping to be able to lift heavy again if you guys have questions please ask but thanks for the video!!
I am really pleased to find these exercises after breaking my right wrist 4 weeks ago then tripping and breaking my left wrist a week ago my doctor decided to cut off my right plaster leaving my right wrist very tight, sore and vulnerable..I'm a yoga teacher so feeling panicked at such a stiff wrist . I will be practising these exercises and already feel more confident .
These exercises are so helpful and although they are gentle they have improved my wrist flexion - in both wrists. I broke both my wrists playing tennis 5 months ago so I don't have a "good" hand to help with the exercises but can manage these ones. Thanks Michelle!
Oh thank you so much. I feel so happy that I found you. I love you excited just yesterday they took my cast off and I know you will be my therapy. I love it. I already practiced audio exercise. I’m so stiff, but I know that drop by drop create a movement. 🙏🙏🙏
Came off bike, fractured distal radius and ulna, now have titanium plate. Healing well buy these exercises have been very helpful, definitely helping my wrist, so many thanks. 😊
I had a broken distal radius fraction in multiple fractions. I had a cast on for 7 weeks. It's been three days since I started doing these exercises. all five exercises helped me a lot, especially the one with the marker in hand was great. I also love finishing off with pulling movement because it opens some space. Thank you
In addition to some great teaching and exercises, I also liked your choice in clothing - a basic black top, non-distracting, and allowed me to focus on the exercises you were teaching. Very professional and added to my learning. Thank you again.
Thank you so much Michelle. I broke my wrist in Aug 23 and dilligently followed your many videos. I didnt undergo surgery but after 2 months in cast, I had recovered very well to remove the cast and was back playing badminton! Thank you so very much.
Thank you so much. I’m a year post wrist surgery and still encountering tendon related pains. The third exercise with the massaging helped tremendously.
I really needed your video! I had a wrist surgery on November last year and it's been 3 months since they took off the cast. I didn't have motion until I started your exercises 3 days ago. I'm gonna keep doing those exercises until I reach 100% flexibility. Thank you 😊
I have being following the wrist movement exercise but my case is very difficult for me to perform some of the exercises, my five fingers is weak to pull back up and straight up and I can't turn my palm up and down and my elbow is stiff, thank you
I have lots of videos to help with all of this! 🙏 Here is one for supination- ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-1RBfKPlTKhE.html and for elbow flexion- ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-3RhAXHRvrKI.html.
The isolated wrist flexion really help me a lot. Because it was hard to flex those wrist inward, don't know how to do it. So by placing the arm like you did in the video, it really worked! Thank you so much for explaining it so thoughtful~
I was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis three months ago. My left wrist was swollen, stiff and painful. I have been following your supination, flexion, extension videos and feel a world of difference. Can’t thank you enough!
I broke my wrist 6 weeks ago and had surgery 4 weeks ago. I started PT this week. My problem is that after my last session, I am in a lot of pain again, and my hand/fingers/wrist is very swollen now. Is this normal?
Very helpful video! I fractured my distal radius 6 weeks ago. Non-dislocated luckily..ER put me in a sugar tong splint..To my surprise there was nothing sweet about this splint after 6 weeks with my arm sweating in this thing! My arm was flabby like a 92 year old woman's arm and as slimy as a money grabbing televangelist! HAHA.. Jokes aside no insurance so I had to just use this ER splint for the duration of my healing marathon..Now at 6 weeks I'm real worried as it did feel wonky when out of the splint and wrap so I quickly put it back on. I take it off each day to wipe it with a wet nap and try to move a little but I'm just soo scared it's not healed! does not really hurt though..in fact each day I can bear more weight with the hand..
I so enjoy all of her exercises they have been a great help. I have had my wrist cast off for 10 days now.I am working on all of the exercises overcoming pain. But this morning I happen to think about my hot curlers to do my hair. I'm slowly working with my curling iron as my thumb is my finger that needs the most prayer. So I plugged in my hot curlers and was able to do them fairly well. And when I picked one of them up I thought this would be great to hold and grip helping me with getting my fist back into a complete tight fist. It is amazing. I hold one until it cools down and then I go get another one and I hold it until it cools down. I can do my fist so much better after holding a hot curler. I have to let him cool down a little bit as they're way too hot when I first pick them up but this was a GREAT answer to prayer and I certainly wanted to pass it on. God Bless everyone who is working through a fractured wrist. Susan
Hi Michelle I fractured my distal radius and a cycling accident, as a Smith’s fracture, yes I’m selling my bikes. Having surgery in one day, can’t wait to get on the road to recovery. Do you have any exercises specifically for Piano playing. I am a pianist as well. for enjoyment.
Put your two hands and fingers together put them behind your head. Then you can do multiple wrist exercises as well in the office without a ball :-) . I even stretch them while rolling. It works great as well.
Has anyone had a spanning bridge plate inserted from the finger to the forearm for a severe wrist break? Radius and scaphoid and a few others were smashed so pieces.. have had the bridge plate removed after 4 months but my wrist feels like stone.. it moves a little with opened fingers but no movement whatsoever with a closed fist.
I had a distal radius fracture and surgery a year and 3 months ago. After going to continuous Physiotherapy for 6 painful months I am still not able to make a fist and flex my wrist well. I will use your exercises and definitely let you know my progress
WOW all these really gave me a better look on how these exercises can be helpful. definitely going to do this throughout the day. thanks for the exercises.
I have surgery on my left wrist for over 6 weeks. The mobility for moving forward is limited. The therapist measured the angle on both hands and got 40/65 for L/R wrist. He explained that the surgery might have lifted the angle of the bone and so it's certain I can't get full range any more. Disappointing.
Your explanations seem thorough but your actual hand and wrist movements are off camera at the very beginning. I was able to relax my wrist, knuckles and finger after six months in casts and surgeries moving tendons to give thumb the ability to move. I was pretty unmotivated by lack of improvement before finding you!
I’m so excited I already feel a little bit movement better than before form your exercise. Do you think I need physical therapy if I will follow you ? I am very committed

Hi ive broken my distal radius and Ulna, also broken parts of my carpal bones in wrist, I'm 2 weeks into therapy after surgery, been doing excersises but my wrist seems hard to turn.
thank you for sharing your knowledge. I broke my Ulna just below my wrist. Colles fracture. a plate was put in and 3 weeks later I'm trying your exercises and the only issue i'm worried about is my thumb movement. not able to lift it. with my palm pressed on a flat surface, i cannot lift my thumb. any advice. thanks.
Hey sir, i have scafoid fracture since 5 years. But i didnt go for any surgery.. So is theses type of exercises are useful for Without surgery?? Please help me 🙏
Broke my radius 6 was ago when I try do ROM it’s so stiff and it hurts. How often do you recommend to do these exercises (every day or how x a week? Do you recommend heating the firearm and wrist then do the stretching and follow with icing????
My wrist was broken 5 months ago & plastered for 6 weeks. My fingers are now arthritic & I can’t hold anything. Any suggestions with excercise to regain strength please
Thank you. Is it possible to start exercises after removing the stitches? Is there no danger to the plate and screws in the distal raduis? Because it causes stiffness in the hand, especially near the surgical site.
I love all your videos. Thank you. If my wrist heals I will forever be grateful. Particularly like your kindness and patience. When I am discouraged I just do another video. They. are all excellent.
