Cool list. Missing a couple I would have put on, wonder if you just didn't like them as much or just haven't seen them yet. Ping Pong, Tatami Galaxy, Gurren Lagann, Kaiji Ultimate Survivor, Hunter x Hunter, Uchuu Senkan Yamato 2199. Yeah not sure if you just don't like them as much, but those few shows I like a fair amount as well.

This is my first time seeing anyone including shingeki no bahamut genesis in an anime list. That series needs more love.

There are so many anime out there and everyone has different preferences that no one is gonna have the same lists, but I think this is a comprehensive, unbiased look at some of the best that anime has to offer. For everyone who is saying that this list is weird and requires things like HXH or One Piece or even Naruto, you'r wrong because these anime got popular because they where extraordinary the first few episodes but after you've watched 100 episodes of them you start to realize that they aren't original because they all have patterns like Huge Arc 6-10 episodes of getting in depth of the characters Huge Arc and etc… but these anime are mostly One-shots, they give you a different aspect of anime it makes you really hype when something unexpected comes out of no where so you should respect it!

I haven't watch the whole thing but I really like the format of the top 50. It has everything you need to know about it and you also give dialogue and a score.

Top 50's are pretty difficult, from a point on it gets too hard to order them in terms of which ones I like more. I have about 60 or 70 anime I at least like and can put about 30 of them in order of how much I like them(Not based off score). Anyway, you were quick and informative with your summaries and to the point even if I very much disagree with some of your choices. Good video Bob.

I know you rated each anime individually as oppose to comparatively, but even so, I find it hard to believe you put anime such as Dragonball and Samurai Champloo above Monster.

Good scores don't come easy from you do they? But that's alright, because that's a good thing. Very nice list anyways. The only four big ones missing that I can think of personally are Fate/Zero, Haruhi Suzumiya, Kara no Kyoukai, and Texhnolyze. Though I can say all of those are not for everybody. Props for the shoutout to White Album 1. I have very fond memories marathoning that. I'm curious what you think of the second season if you have watched it. I thought I was the only one who preferred season 1!

What a list, loved most of the entries I've seen. I'm not a big fan of mecha, can't say much of those. Also Golden Boy wasn't really for me either, my fav comedies are Excel Saga and Nichijou. Thought you'd put Last Excel and Soul Eater here since you said lots positive things about both.

Hey, if you have the time you should review Now and Then, Here and There. It manages to touch upon very dark themes in a very mature and subtle way. It didn't try to be oppressive or overdone in any way. Its kinda hard to explain the show but it features the archetypal cocky anime teenage male protagonist going through some of the most traumatic shit I've ever seen. What's best is that the show retains an almost innocent quality whilst exploring really dark issues, and isn't dependent on gore tactics. Characters are played brilliantly and the overall tone is executed really well. Some other notable mentions would be Planetes, Natsume's Book of Friends and NANA.

Hey Bob, i didnt know if you like sports animes, but I think you should give "ONE OUTS" definitely a try. It is way more than a sports anime, i think it is a mix of the brilliance of characters like Light, L or Lelouch and a massive intregue system. But Toua play another game and its fascinating. And , i think in the same category, not sports related, but gaming and gambeling is Gyakkyou Burai Kaiji 1: Ultimate Survivor. It is AWESOME. Really. That are two 10/10's in my List. I think you could enjoy it really much. Hope u read my comment and if you watch these two or one of them, please make a review about it. More People should know about that. thanks and seeyaaa

Wow, some of that list is on my need to watch list but really the only thing on there that I had already seen was Death Note & I didn't care too much for it. Some of my top favorite anime are A Certain Magical Index, A Certain Scientific Railgun, Detective Conan, & Magic Kaito 1412. I guess either my taste is bad or just not what the general public likes & I get why most people don't watch Conan, one look & you're threatened by its 800+ episodes. A lot of it is filler & there are so many predictable cases once you've seen enough of the series to know the direction it will take but there is a lot in the series that makes it worth it. Sometimes, you gotta eat the tough, dry outside of the cinnamon roll to get to the moist, delicious center. I spent all of summer 2011 watching the series. 600+ episodes, 14 movies, 10 OVAs, idk how many specials, & only 2 of the Kaitou Kid specials. One summer, down the tube but it was totally worth it. I finished a month before the 15th movie got subbed. Thing is, we all have lives outside of anime & I get that, not everyone can dedicate that kind of time to just one anime but I do wish it had more notice than just being the butt of long anime jokes & a lot of the time it doesn't even get that pleasure since One Piece of Pokemon will steal it.
