Great list Lee, some absolute bangers in there, many that i never hear anyone talking about that ive found over the years, great to see you putting these out there for those who dont know about some of these classics.
Thank you for this Lee, lots of great ones I’ll be adding to my watchlist. Man I appreciate you OG horror tubers sharing your incites on films. I love delving into the older films, don’t get me wrong I like the new stuff too but it’s fun finding the ones I’ve missed. Cheers my friend✌️
Damn solid list Lee! My personal favorites: Just Before Dawn- love the final girl & dual killers & 10 To Midnight- American badass Charles Bronson;always one of my favorite Hollywood stories. + one I've been meaning to see(Torso),so this might be the season!
This was a great list with many of my favorites! I'd also recommend a double feature of Blood for Dracula and Flesh for Frankenstein by Paul Morrissey. Two of the most (unintentionally?) hilarious horror movies you'll ever see starring a young Udo Kier.
Thanks for the list! I remember always watching Body Double and Looker on HBO back in the day. Brian DePalma is a beast. Pieces is a lot of fun. Any way, there are a bunch of movies of I have not seen or never heard of, so I will be busy.
List like this are always a pleasure to check out and are quite valuable in helping others including myself something new to check out. May not be new release wise but if i haven't seen it then it is a new experience all the same
Great list, and a few I've seen in recent years thanks largely in part to this channel and discussion. Here's one I recently found on Blu-ray and hadn't seen in over 30 years: There's Nothing Out There (1991). It's a horror comedy about a group of friends who go on a lakeside getaway, one of them a film nerd who constantly refers to certain tropes while the aggravated others dismiss him, realizing too late that they're being stalked by a malevolent creature hungry for blood and women. I saw this when I was around eight and it freaked me out. Upon revisiting it, I'm not only embarrassed because it's funny as hell (though it goes to show even a silly early 90s puppet is more effective than most CG), but I appreciate just how much it contributed to meta satire long before Wes Craven gave us Scream or New Nightmare. Definitely worth giving a look.
Lee McCoy what do you think about them Cancelling the Tv Series Chucky? I think it's sad that most shows don't last as long as they used too. Walker only lasted 4 seasons, The Dallas reboot lasted 3 seasons. The reboot of Will & Grace lasted 3 seasons, And so many others.
I had a rough weekend. My Minnesota Twins are knocked out of the playoffs. My Gophers get screwed by the refs. Now, they're taking away my Chucky? Sweet God
Awesome list! There’s something for everyone. And yes, some I have never seen or heard of! I haven’t seen a ton of 70’s horror. Some of that looks crazy! Toys aren’t for children 👀 But seriously, how do you do it!?! I can barely keep up with 31. A list of 50 gives me major anxiety! Hahaha
The fact that I grew up right down the street from the Victorian mansion in Highland Park were they filmed Spider Baby and being a fan of Lon Chaney Jr and knowing that he was in that film is so f’ing awesome.
Great list! So many underrated gems in there. I would also add The Autopsy of Jane Doe and The Dark and The Wicked. Both have their cult following but I feel both are still very underrated.
That was awesome Lee I managed to write every film down from 50-1 so many I still haven’t seen it’s about time I checked out Body Double really glad to see Starry eyes and Alice Sweet Alice make the list. Awesome as always dude 🎬👌🔥🍂
Dude, what a banger video bro. Great stuff man. Really helped me get through my work day today and honestly I've seen a lot of these movies so it definitely made me feel better about myself LOL
Lots of good movies to check out. Ive actually been watching random scary/horror type movies everyday over the past couple weeks to get Oct started early. These will help..Thanks Lee
This list made me realize I've only seen an extremely small percentage of the 70's and 80's horror movies that exist. My nomination for deep cut is "Attack the Block". It's a real fun one and has very cool creature designs.
I watched Bloody Birthday for the first time this year and I loved it. The kids are so entertaining. The main little boy (Billy Jayne) was also in Cujo.
great video! loved it! Im planning to watch 1 or 2 horror/thriller movies every night during Oct. tonight Im starting it off with All Cheerleaders Die and Hospital Massacre. Oct 2nd will be Looker and Body Double. Thanks Lee much appreciated.
Stellar list sir! I'm so happy to see you've got John Carpenter's Someone's Watching Me on here! I absolutely adore that movie and I think it might possibly be his most underrated film. Thanks for these, brother...I'll definitely have to revisit some of these.
Great list Lee. I can tell you put a lot of effort into this. The convenience store one reminded me of another underrated movie from 1989 called Intruder. It is also a convenience store slasher that involves an ex, without spoiling too much. Another forgotten one is The Hand That Rocks the Cradle.
Ok so I've seen most of old classics on this list from 60's,70's,80's,90's early 2000's but some of the current ones I've not seen. Really good list Lee thank you! Raw deal is not horror lol but it is so under rated! I still wanna see Killer party.
john carpenter'ın filmini cuma geceyarısınsan sonra kuşağında 80'lerde tv'de seyretmiştim.the baby bizde sinemalarda bile gösterildi. baby-dehşetin çocuğu adıyla. yönetmeni ted post. chuck norris'in sessiz öfke filmini, visiting hours'u, raw deal'i sinemada izledim. pek çoğunuda video kasetten.savage streets manyak bir istismar filmiydi.evet o filmde morgan fairchild'e aşık olmuştum. charles bronson'dan alışılmadık bir slasher filmiydi 10 to midnight.
I definitely recommend you to check out the Coffin Joe movies ! He was the pioneer of horror genre in Brazil. It’s a trilogy. At midnight I’ll take your soul. This Night I’ll possess your body and the embodiment of evil. It’s about a grave digger who wants to conceive the perfect child. He tries to find the perfect woman and he does horrible things ! I love it !!!!
Love this lists. Seen lots of slashes with my buddies from your channel like The Burning, Sleepaway Camp, etc. Gonna check out Bad Dreams, love Dream Warriors
Great list. Nothing is dirtier than Maniac..so true. What have they Done to your Daughters? is another cool Giallo with a motorcycle killer, if you haven't seen it its well worth a look.
I LOVE Funny Games.... The director of the original directed the remake and it's literally just different actors and in English, BUT with that said they both are FANTASTIC!!
A lot of it I've never seen. List like that must exist. When I get on Shudder etc, I end up not watching nothing there, getting lost and tired fast.you check comments there and there is troll on troll deathmatch. The House where Evil Dwells from 1982 fits your list.
Watching this made me think of a decent idea for future videos. Example: you can take 5 “backwoods horror” deep cuts and mix them into a ranking of Friday the 13th to see how the deep cuts compare to the popular series.
Bro... 'RAW DEAL' , 'TOURIST TRAP', 'ALICE, SWEET ALICE' and Holy $h*t, 'LOOKER'!!! 👍!! FWIW, James Coburn F'n Rox man! Really appreciate that you don't just push the ultra violent, sadistic films (which I don't like) but you also include really good 'tamer' films that have good atmosphere or are fun despite not being so extreme which so many prefer these days. I just skip those types in your recommendations, but I do take note of the others. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind violence if it is accompanied by other strong aspects, but just extreme cruelty or sadism for its own 'Thrill' I simply just do not find 'Fun' or entertaining seeing people suffer simply for the sake of suffering. I'm very glad you're not just a 'One Note' reviewer where you just like the most violent, extreme films and think that is what 'Good' Horror is all about. Heh, with that said... Uh... *cough... I just picked up the recent 4k Blu-ray of 'TORSO' 😁 (C'mon man, we're talk'n great Giallo here!) Some of the real offbeat ones like 'SILENT RAGE' which I would never, ever have checked out, I will now, thanks to you... Not bad for my first time here... 😊
Hey Lee, I'm watching a classic (to me) this weekend... 1994's Brainscan. Saw it in the theater back in the day and loved it.... nobody talks about it but thankfully Shout Factory gave it a stacked Blu-ray release some years back. I always go back to it around Halloween time... and a few of the soundtrack cuts have never left my music playlist as well. If by chance you don't know it, give it a shot... it's fun.
Hey Lee. Question. I came back to watch a little more to find some movies. Could you maybe do a community post with all these movies listed to make it easy on us? Or a list in these comments? If not I understand. Thanks..
Yet another awesome video, Lee! Thanks for this excellent list, It gives me some good Horror homework! Just watched ZOMBEAVERS and it was 100% fun!!! Thanks so much for the hard work you put into these videos… They are top-notch and your channel is ‘must see’ RU-vid!
I remember seeing some of these on this list. Too bad Ms. 45, Death Game and Girls Night Out didn’t make it. I streamed The Keep (1982) free on RU-vid today. If you’ve seen it or not Lee, it’s a creature feature horror fantasy set in 1941 Romania with Nazis occupying a Keep in a Romanian village, they don’t realize something else occupying it. Directed by Michael Mann. Ian McClellan (from Apt Pupil, X-Men, Gods and Monsters and LOTR) is in this when he was a bit younger.
Since Drumdums likes Nightmare Beach an easy suggestion would be Primal Rage (1988). Another Italian production of college students being killed in Florida. Though this time it's a creature feature/infection on the campus instead being on the beach. Next to suggest is to lurk in the age of dubious cinema how about "The Candy Snatchers (1973)"? Especially if your gauging the value of a horror movie in the depiction of the film's villains. Certain to twist most viewers from amusement to disgust to tragedy. And then maybe a modern overlooked film to top it off. Another satanic story heavy on setting the mood and not afraid to slow burn; "At the Devil's Door (2014)". These will likely linger in the mind after playing Though since there's so much love for Charles Bronson in this deep cut video how about; "Chato's Land(1972)". An allegory of Vietnamese resistance to the American war it has my interest cuz Mr. Death Wish plays a convincing and menacing Native American. Not a horror movie yet it follows a white-boy hunting party who are picked off one by one -- much like in a slasher movie would ten years later
I haven’t seen any of these!!! That said, one movie I never hear people talk about is “Firstborn.” Not horror, but a decent cast for 1984. Corey *Haim* in his debut saying: “Eat Shit, Dick Face” is something I think about, often.
_Funny Games_ (the 1997 original) is Austrian, not Danish. The 2007 shot-for-shot remake was done by the same director, Michael Haneke, as he had apparently wanted to set the original film in America from the start, but had been unable to do so at the time. Personally, I strongly prefer the original, as I find the remake far too 'clean' and dislike its distracting inclusion of internationally well-known, high-profile actors. That said, I certainly wouldn't consider either version a 'deep cut', as the original was widely acclaimed upon release, and is now part of the Criterion Collection, and the remake is (in my opinion) totally unnecessary, and hardly worth mentioning.
@@DrumdumsOfficial Richard Crenna enters a doorway or chamber or something. It's a bright white room with an old white bearded man who explains the whole idea of 'the evil'... Haven't seen it in a while so my memories are a little hazy but I do remember that and thinking 'this is like The Matrix'
I just watched some movie off Netflix before I watched Axel F. It was called "Nobody Sleeps in the Woods Tonight". Reminds me a little of "Just Before Dawn". With inbred killer or killers? Definitely not as good as JBD. (Not by a long shot). Acting sux with an aggravating Gen Z characters and how obsessed they are with technology. Def relatable ro people today. Check it out if you haven't already.
Saw the big evil on tv it was alright definitely one of the odd classic photogist movies, funhouse I bought cause I heard the hype about it, I also wanted to watch it cause of the director Toby hooper but overall it’s classic movie
@@DrumdumsOfficialthank you, Lee! By looking at the list I could tell it had to do with movies that went under the radar but wasn't sure. Ps: the original Funny Games is directed by Michael Haneke, which is a very famous Austrian director
Kill Baby Kill The Changeling Silent Night, Bloody Night The Evil Night of the Living Dead (remake) Madhouse He Knows You're Alone The House That Dripped Blood Horror Express Theater of Blood I could go on
