My first car was and still is a Dacia Sandero 0.9 tce. its a roomy medium size petrol car. Its fun to drive and cheap to run. Its top speed isn't pretty but its a front wheel drive so the cornering is nippy and it has a 3 cylinder engine which gives decent acceleration when you turn the eco mode off. I would recommend, Dacia is an overlooked brand but they are pretty reliable cars manufactured by Renault.
Yeah, I kinda miss that as well. As we know certain year models have certain issues, but you need a lot of knowledge about cars to know what usually goes wrong in each car.
I just passed my driving test. 2 days later, I bought a used car of Ford Ka and managed got under 800 pounds for insurance as 19 years old, and its 1.2. Well worth it!
Peugeot often a lovely car to drive. The thing I always recall Jeremy Clarkson saying about Peugeots in the last couple of decades was that they were often like a "TARDIS" no I don't mean that you can time travel in them. But if you think of the concept surrounding it, I.e. it appears as if you have more room on the inside than it looks like from the outside. Great value for money.
Would you recommend the Ford focus 2012-2015 1.0 ecoboost top spec? I need something bigger than a fiesta or polo but smaller than say a mini bus 😂 it will be my first car but kids n busy life means I need a small family car...but I can't afford insurance on anything bigger than a 1.2 🤷
German cars are absolutely NOT reliable. And the Mini is not remotely an inexpensive car to maintain. That's why there are so many of these BMW Minis around at very low prices.
I would 100% pick a VW golf it's just the more convenient car for my life right now and don't ask why I'm watching car videos im 12 years old nowhere near driving age 🤣🤣🤣
I got a Micra k12 in white and when I pass insurance is so cheap I found more popular first cars were really expensive the Micra storage and space is amazing mines a 2010 with 55k 1.2litre
Its hard for a 18 yr old to get a cheap car wi cheap insurance i got a quote on a kia picanto and it was £1300 all other cars i checked such as the 1.0l seat arosa was £1800 to insure its stupid. My mate got a quote of a 1.4 fiat panda 100hp and it was £1400 to insure supprisingly.
Mate I’m 22 and I’m being quoted between £2200 and £2500 for a 1.2 corsa/208. Sub £2k at 18 is pretty good tbh. Obviously not if you are the one who has to pay it tho lol, don’t think I had £20 to my name back then never mind £2000
Really appreciate your reply. You guys got some awesome vids out there. I am also an ADI and been doing it for around 12 years. I only teach part-time as i make more £ from construction works. Keep up the good work.
I was having some doubts with these suggestions, then he said BMW and reliable and I knew I couldn't watch anymore lol - The demographic affording these are the rich kids lets be honest.
I have a 2014 Peugeot 208 1.2 vti. 82hp. I got it to learn in and have been driving it for a while now. It’s a great car and has done a great job being somthing to learn in. However, it’s a 3 cylinder so is a little jumpy to learn in and you’ll have to be good at clutch control. Its pretty quick and nippy and good miles per gallon. I think they are totally underrated as hatchbacks in the Uk. For people wanting something to lightly modify, there isn’t a lot of options.. a spoiler and maybe some grill options but don’t expect to be changing everything like you see with the ford focus and corsa. Happy to answer any questions too. As I know there isn’t a lot of info on the pug 208s
I heard that automatic Peugeots have problems with electrics or something? Is this silly ‘French’ car annoyance people for some reason have or is this a viable concern?
Heya just come across this.... I am looking and researching ahead for my next potential car?? Any chance a video could be made or point me in the right direction? I already had/have two awesome cars. Two years on both. But am not sure what to get for my third car. 5door. Bit sporty. Space. Something that's raised off the road. Do either s compact SUV or ,4x4. Budget I keep under 4000
@@alexharriott1159 everyone I know that has had their Peugeot had no problems. I did get mine, unfortunately there was a problem with it within the first 2 weeks, so I gave it back and I'm still on the hunt for a new car. So I guess I was unlucky ?
Could be the case with some. But I have an ST and me nan has a fiesta and they’re fine… I wouldn’t avoid a fiesta due to that as most cars have something that could go wrong like that
i had a 2004 1.25 fiesta for a year (absolutely brilliant would highly recommend), now just turning 18 bought a 2009 1.6 fiesta Zetec S thats only £1600 no black box a year however i do live in the middle of nowhere which makes it a lot lower, put your parents on the insurance as second drivers this lowered it by £400 per parent for me, and start the insurance about a week after youve paid as that lowers by about 200 for me, so i'd look at a 1.25 or 1 litre ecoboost fiesta (1litre is t£0 tax!)
@@shamshersahota8412 the 1l is the more modern engine however at 99 hp compared to around 83 for the 1.25, the thing to look at is insurance group, but if it were me id get the 1litre, there more fuel efficient and theres no tax so it might be cheaper in the long run
Well, I see gender essentialism is still alive and well. Honestly, I'd have thought that the 17-year-olds now would be over the 'for the geeeehws' stuff. Evidently not ;)
@@alifloydtv I know I’m late, but they could just be going off statistics. Whilst I don’t support “girls cars” or “boys cars” there are more women who drive fiat 500’s. Not necessarily a sign of fragile masculinity, I mean this guy definitely doesn’t look fragile lol.
@@Alex-ug9wx yeah, looks can be deceptive, that's the point of a lot of toxic masculinity 😉 Besides, wouldn't the truly strong man (grrrr!) have the balls to defy statistics and say 'lads, enjoy a Fiat 500 and lassies go get your Hummer...'? [Although please don't because they're obviously THE WORST]
@@alifloydtv it’s not about defying or going along with statistics, but just acknowledging them. Also hummers aren’t necessarily the worst, some people outfit the engines that have better fuel consumption and range and aren’t as bad or expensive to run. Still it’s not my cup of tea, personally, but yeah. I can see why you are of the belief that it’s fine for anyone (barring serial drinkers) to have any car, but I was just saying ya know.
Didn't realise that cars had their own gender. I always thought of a car as a vehicle to get you from A to B, not really interested in making any kind of fashion statement, something plain, simple and relatively affordable to run.
Ooo that's a tough call🤔 It truly does depend on your wants and needs as an owner. Fun fact, they're both actually Japanese vehicles (Citroen C1 uses a Toyota engine) which do tend to be reliable cars.
Not really a fan of leather seats either, I know a lot of people seem to make a big deal about leather seats but I honestly don't see the appeal of them. The most comfortable car seats I have ever had were made of tweed and were in a Peugeot 405.
