Money loves me! I made couple of those mistakes in my 20 years repeatedly. I wasn't negotiating at all due to fear of rejection or gave up at first place when the recruiter said they can't offer what I asked for even it was fairly reasonable ask which I later realized. Thanks for helping to break that fear.

It happened with me once where I was trying to negotiate the offer explaining to them why I deserve higher pay and what benefits can I bring to the table, based on my education & experience. It turned out that they were pretty rigid, didn’t value my worth, and to the contrary, termed me as a money-minded person! I initially felt that I lost a good offer, which it was, but then felt blessed that it’s good it didn’t work out. Maybe it might have brought the stress out of me instead of the best out of me! 😮💨
@@SuperChargeYourself Sonal, first of all thank you so much for your power packed content. I had a similar experience. I'm a software professional and got an offer from a good product company. I put forward my expectations both in terms of CTC and the work that I'm interested in and how my skill set would be helping the organization and for the business. Still HR was very rigid on a certain number (CTC). But I conveyed firmly that I'm a deserving candidate. Later, after a couple of days the HR came himself and told they don't want to lose me and negotiated again on CTC. This negotiation happened for more than 5 or 6 times again and again and the HR brought it to a level of bargaining. I felt so bad and conveyed them that I'm not comfortable to proceed further. And the HR from such a renowned MNC was blackmailing me that he would blacklist me and I wouldn't be able to join them at any point of time in my career. I felt really bad. Though it was my dream company and job, I had to lose that opportunity because of poor negotiation happening again and again. I also regret if I should have taken the offer even if it was very less for my experience and prevailing market standards. Could you pls advise me anything on this so that I can be prepared next time. Also, pls tell me if what I did is right with this employer(HR)?

Yes I did 😂 they couldn’t give me the salary I wanted but I got 10k bonus 😊 it’s been two years and I got promoted and my salary and benefits package it’s higher than what I requested back then 😊
You won't believe ,in the past 3 months I have got through 3 interviews anf nailed them with a lot of your guidelines...My brain is auto tuned to your strategies I guess...Since I watch them on repeat and then customize which fits to my role. Thanks for the lovely content.
I recently failed 3 times to demand a 40-50% hike on my current package..this is the first switch of my career after 8 years. They are offering only 30% and also informing upfront that i won't be legible for next year's appraisal. So in a tough situation what to do.

Some bad advise, if you go from 50-80 take it, if you don't reveal your salary expectations, you will get passed over immediatly, at least in the US, that said do negotiate.

I always feel uncomfortable in megotiation bc i know every company wants to low ball you. They want to save costs and meet their bottom line. Because i walk into this knowing this i always feel like they want more out of your work than what they are willing to pay for it. Eeek. Uncomfortable . Just pay the ppl for their work please.
How can you negotiate with a non profit organization and when they have already told that you are going to compromise with salary since its a govt funded thing, but its a good exposure and you nodded..?

Hi Madam, i got an offer over email which just mentions we have an approval for x amount as fixed and y amount as variable , do let us know your interest to proceed with the next steps. I responded very positively thanking them for the offer, interview process, how much I am keen to join, mentioned how my skills meet the job description and how am I recognised for the work done at my previous company and also mentioned about how commited I am and aspiration to work long time with the company. I shared my expectation on fixed as a and variable as b. It is 16% more on overal x+y. I did mention we can come to a mutual agreement on acceptable salary. How long should I wait before i follow-up with HR.
During the first interview with a recruiter, I asked what the approved salary for the role, she gave the amount and when the recruiter asked if I’m okay with it, of course I said that is acceptable. So after 3 more round of interviews, I was called again by the recruiter to officially offer me the job through a phone call with the amount, I agreed. I’m now waiting for the offer letter to be emailed. I don’t know if I can still negotiate since after doing my research, the salary is lower based on the 10th percentile national average salaries here in the US. What advice can you give me? Thank you. Oh and it will be my first job here in the US. So, I’m really on the fence with this.

Only one point bothers as they asked for salary slip but my previous job was with a not too big school where they pay in cash. How to convince them. As m having 10 yrs of experience. Plz suggest me.
Money loves me! What if they ask for the salary expectation on the application? In my area, every job asks for this before the application can even be submitted. I feel like I would be immediately disqualified just for guessing above the pay range.
Is there a "standard" figure that recruiters are expecting for negotiation? Like "something 10%" and a standard number considered out of range? For example, above usually 25% is a nogo.

Also, the best point I found that you made, (which makes me want to resend my CEO another email...but I won't), is that you need to see how this income benefits the new company/team. I gave it thought, and came up with, the salary I am requesting pays my bills and provides myself and the team with "the good" coffee! I had already communicated my last drawn during the first HR round to the HR manager and then went through 3 rounds of interviews with biggies in the organisation. Now they have quoted an offer less than the last drawn stating that they have a budget. How do I handle such a situation? Your thoughts are really appreciated.
Sonal , During my ongoing recruiter demotivated me stating his company is not doing good and dont exoect muchh salary .Its a global role and i k ow budget wont be a constraint.Was HR checking me my willingness to take a job at a lesser salary ? He told me the last year bonus was 16% only ( throwing away his incetive negociations). for me priority is WFH but i want more salary .What should be my offence in this case ? I m ckeared by tech and management team in interview ready one HR round done .

Hi Sonal, i like your videos. Thank you for making them. I have interview at one place, after 2 rounds of interview they were ready to take me and asked for salary expectation. From my past experience, i put forward my expectation as 22-24lpa with the thought that they might quote less. They said my expectations are too high and they want to have one more round of interview. Which i didn't cleared and after a week they called up again and said you didn't cleared last round of interview but we want to hire you and we will pay you 17lpa fixed. Now what should I do? How should i negotiate in this case?
