1:19 "That damage reduction will . . . .reduce the damage your going to be taking" Thanks puma I thought that it will cure depression it's a good thing I can count on you
I don't know, man. In my experience, nothing beats Psycho-Jet for laying waste to the biggest baddest enemies with ease. Just make sure to take the chem resistant perk so you don't get addicted.
Fuck no on survival mode with a melee build I use it every fight. You can charge through all locations tearing enemies apart while kiting. You don't need power armor or anything. Just plenty psycho jet and a nice knife. Once you're done you can pick up all the shit (mind the scattered remains of eviscerated enemies) and move on.
John Doe psycho jet is literally all you need in a hardcore mode melee build to kill anything at all. I never used power armor at all and just charged in with a disciples knife or upgraded bat like citos shiny slugger.
andrew decker It will only exist in Survival, I play on Survival and I have bunch of it, useful for you but for me TRASH, even though, I'm a Ninja Charcter......Lemme tell you what chems will pop in Survival: Calmex Antibiotics Calmes for me is very useless (repeated) but Antibiotics is very useful, it can cure illness specially Infection (my greatest enemy).......That 2 is one of the rare item but it'll become common when you craft but very expensive to buy
I like PsychoJet the best because I use them in emergency situations, which is what they seem to be made for. Slowed time, and extra damage. Not much else I could ask for.
Mysterious serum from the Cabot quest if siding with Lorenzo Cabot. +5 STR +50 DMG Resist -10 Radiation per second for 3600 seconds. Glowing Sea exploration not a problem or most other irradiated places for that matter. best of all no addiction
I went through the whole game without using chems or alcohol in my first play through mainly cuz I thought all the buffs seemed very small. But they do make good money for you whenever you sell them
X-cell is great BECAUSE of its addictability. If you want to max a stat, you always take it to a natural 10 and then get the Bobble for 11, right? Well, you can take one of them to 12 by getting to 10, debuffing in some way, reading the SPECIAL book in Sanctuary for that stat, removing the debuff (taking you to 11) and then getting the Bobble for 12. With some, that can be done with the normal effects - Daddy-O, Day Tripper, and Alcohol let you do it with S, C, and I. I haven't tried it, but the Tattered Rags are glitched and give -1 Luck rather than +1 Luck as they say, so that might work for luck. Addiction, then, is your debuff means for everything else, and X-cell will work for any of them (and quickly, since the addiction rate is high). So, get your stat high, get high, read the SPECIAL as you want, then addictol your way back to normalcy. Oh, and the BEST stat to do this to if you want to be overpowered is Endurance, since the HP part of Endurance only counts the permanent number so each point becomes more important the higher your level. Perception is the worst (only affecting VATs accuracy slightly). Luck and Charisma are lame. Luck gives diminishing returns on speed of crits and with perks will give you more than you can use anyways and Charisma gives diminishing returns on prices - there is a limit to how cheap an item will go to buy or how high it will go to sell, you can already pass all the check easily with 11, and 1 more settler isn't that important and can be slid in with chems or just added to from Automotron quests. Intelligence is the easiest to do (natural 10 from creation plus a beer and you are there by level 2, and can get the bobble from the library early on), and it should be done early if you are so that you get the most XP for the most time. Still, pretty lame in comparison. Agility is just 10 more AP, so not that important. Strength is good if you are Melee or Unarmed, since it does add to your damage. The weight to carry isn't worth it. So, Melee or Unarmed might consider Strength, but for everyone else, you need addiction to max your Endurance at 12 and have those extra hp.
@@christophercollins3632 Yup. Doesn't count ones from worn items, but any chem/booze debuff works. (I didn't know for the tattered rags at the time with their luck debuff, but it doesn't work). It is a great way to squeeze out an extra point in a key stat. For most of my builds it is S if a melee build and I for most everything else (I tend to start every build maxed in I to speed through and C to get early xp, caps, and control all my speech challenges - with the rest put into P for ranged builds or E for melee).
@@oaksparoakspar3144 Thanks for the confirmation back. I’ve fallen in love with END because it lets me run longer in Survival mode. The extra HP is gravy. Combined with rank 3 of moving target, and it takes a very long time to even dip below half before i get where I’m going. Which is great, since i always have backup AP for ambushes.
Med-X is probably my favorite chem in Fo4. Probably because it's semi-rare and hard to find. Whenever I come across some, I get pumped. Hopefully Fallout 5 will have a lot of new chems and possibly, finally a Med-X mix with psycho or Buffout.
I play on Survival (High Tier Character and super DPS) I'm lv 51 and one of my useful chems during emergency times is Jet, Psycho, and Med-X........Jet is only being used when I nearly die, Psycho and Med-X only used when during hardcore combal like Battle in Castle between Minutemen and Synths........Hell even in Survival, I manage to Survival with use of Low End Power Amor........Srsly, but those chems utilize to increase Addiction specially can easily being *Severe Dehydration* I bring 120 Purified Water and Nuka Quantun to maintain the Hardcore Battle.
The reason why I'm surper DPS is because in Surival, *Lethality* is massively increase but it will only use if you're Stealth Character, it'll became useless if you fight Face to Face.....But in exchange of super buff, *Adrenaline* It wil appear duing hostile times but you must manage to survive if you want to obtain the Deadliest level on Adrenaline......when you sleep, Adrenaline became lower and lower until removed.
Im still fairly low tier in the game and i find purified water amazing for the fact that its both easy to find, good enough for trade, is common enough that you wont run out, has no rads and heals a fair amount
*Top 5 in the game* 1) Psychojet 2) Bufftats (more carry-weight, strength and HP) 3) Overdrive 4) Jet / Grape Mentats (cheese CHR for quests/companions) / Berry Mentats (cheese INT for xp) 5) Med X
If you guys want tons of chems really quickly do the “diamond city blues” quest. You go into the colonial tap house and watch the fight, then talk to the guy that walks out. If all goes right you should walk in on a drug deal and kill the trigger men, getting about 50 of several chems. If you want more talk to the ghoul that survives and do that challenge.
I know this is an old ass video, but I just started using tons of drugs at a time for stacked effects: Psycho Buff, buffout, psycho, overdrive, Jet Fuel are enough to make my level 130 in survival almost one shot anything in the wasteland and all last a decent time. I occasionally use jet, psycho jet, and other miscellaneous drugs. Psycho buff is imo the best drug in the game, followed by jet, based on utility and availability/crafting costs.
Favorite chem: Psychobuff. I generally don't use chems in combat, but I am a compulsive hoarder in-game (and really, who isn't?), and the +3 bonus to Strength is a real help, especially since it's superior to Buffout's +2 bonus.
My list: 1. Overdrive - Crit cheese busts the game with certain effects. 2. Calmex Silk - Acquiring your first dose requires wiki consultation, but it's easy to stockpile and has very unique, very powerful benefits. 3. Berry Mentats - Situational awareness is no longer necessary; extra experience is always welcome. 4. Psycho Jet - The best Jet variant, although it is considered part of the Psycho family. It is better than the sum of its parts in every regard, except its duration (which is longer than Jet, but shorter than Psycho). 5. Jet Fuel - Relatively easy to make and offers a powerful AP regeneration effect that is generally useful for most characters. 6. Psychobuff + Bufftats - I know, it's kind of cheating to list two at once, but hear me out. Both are strict upgrades over Buffout, and they stack with each other. Also, once you've raiderized three settlements, you can make dispensers that provide the component chems for free. If you're playing a junkie, there's not much reason to not pop both of these at the beginning of each dungeon. 7. Grape Mentats - 11 CHA auto-passes any persuasion check in the game, and this gets you halfway there. The fact that you can pull yourself out of dialogue and pop them mid-conversation makes them that much more useful. 8. Fury - Kind of a pain to make, but a massive bonus that stacks with other chems to provide spectacular results on melee characters.
X-cell’s downside is fantastic actually, as if you duplicate the special book you can get 12 to all special stats because special book checks your current stats. If they’re all 9 you can get them all to 10, then cure the addiction to get them all to 11 before any bobbleheads
Playing a survival gunslinger with scrounger, that sells his spare ammo to buy the weapon mods he needs. Grape Mentats is absolutely the best in that situation! Psychojet is also a good panic button if it the situation becomes overwhelming (like 10 ghouls that want to scratch your kneecaps at the same time).
Cool drug guide : i’m on my Third Play through & i’m using the Portable Portuguese Cheat terminal ( my favorite mod ) and / So i decided to use 9 drugs - 500 each with my Green Ghost cushioned X-92 Armored suit with the Nano Jetpack & Sword ☠️ butt denied myself Stimpaks & Power Amour 🐈 Drugs : 1. Med-X 2. Calmex 3. Overdrive 4. Jet fuel 5. X-Cell 6. Psychotats 7. Mysterious Serum 8. Orange mentats 9. Glowing blood pack You would think i wouldn’t need stimpaks when using these nine drugs butt you’d be Surprised, also the game is set at Very hard + i’m Just an average player 🕹 Either way, i’m just having fun + with 73 mods installed = Good time ...... Thanx 4 Posting 🇵🇹
Side Note : Overdrive also increases weapon damage, Soon as i Consume the drug i check my weapon stats : there up 🔫 could also be the 25% damage ...... add Calmex - while Sneaking you’re character will be a Serious badazz ☠️
Jet. It's the single best "oh-shit" moment and has saved my ass more times than I care to count. Death claw suddenly surprise you by popping around the corner? Use jet to even the odds! Mirelurk queen just popped up? Use jet! Although my second favorite drug that I regularly use has to be: Psychobuff. Turns you into an unstoppable killing machine with a long duration! Best and most versatile combat drug there is if you know you have a tough and long running fight ahead. With the right perks, it can last up to 20 minutes!
Im currently playing an all chem addict play through ill be reporting the negative effects for everyone that wanna know unless you become addicted to the stuff yourself
MedX and Psycho-Jet for combat, Mentats and Berry-Mentats for turning in quests. Grape-Mentats in combination with some charisma gear if you're playing a low charisma character and want to pass some particular speech check.
From the Fallout wiki - "Med-X was originally to be named Morphine in Fallout 3, but this resulted in the Australian Classification Board refusing its classification and thereby making it illegal to distribute the game in Australia". That's my country being a nanny state. Drug's are bad mmmk
Day Tripper is nice to pass speech checks. It's not my favorite though. I read, not sure if it is a rumor or not, that Med-X was originally going to be Morphine but they had to come up with a fake name to avoid rating and restriction penalties for having drug references.
You can get calmex actually very easily. The vendor in nuka town market who sells Chems gives you a side quest to get blood worm meat and will then sell a better version of it with three cherisma boost.
Well personally,my jam is 20-30 cans of Cram, then Fury, then Jet,then Psycho Jet,then a box of sugar bombs and deathclaw meat because if you don't play in survival mode you can't be on my friends list.
My favourite is simply dual use psycho and med-x. Both are plentiful to get and give nice bonuses. Mentats also work nicely since the boost to Int gives ypu a small xp boost when completing some high xp quests. As for calmex, I completely forgot that it even existed :D I don't know if I've ever even found one once in all my 400+h of FO4
Diamond City Blues actually gives you up to 60. I guess you missed the box behind the stack. I didn't see it until the third or fourth time I did the quest.
There is an improved version of calmex, forgot the name it was "calmex something", or maybe it came with some mod but i highly doubt so, i think it doubled the buffs, but i just found one and never ever used even for testing. My char is a big fat junkie, full chemist and biocommesh to stay high for hours ;) it doesn't drink alcohol, but i play it to be intendedly addict to Med-X
Jet, Psycho, Med-X, Just pop everything!. There's nothing quite like taking 15 drugs at once and beating the hell out of a Deathclaw with a baseball bat. My play style in every Fallout game is heavily reliant on excessive and reckless drug use, maybe I have a problem..
