Royal Arcade. And I was the one who told you about the boutique when we met in Selfridges and introduced you to the house. Also gave you the 8 ml Levant. I’m a big fan and couldn’t believe it when I saw you. 🧡
The blending Ormande Jayne does is masterful… so smooth and elegant. Newab of Oudh Intensivo, Montabaco Intensivo and Ormande Man (as well as the Elixer) are big favorites of mine.
I adore Montabaco. I have Montabaco Intensivo and Montabaco Verano in travel sizes. Absolutely magical and I don't say it lightly. Complex, sophisticated, fresh and yet spicy, not quite sweet but very tantalizing. Just gorgeous.
I agree that this house makes the most classy and elegant fragrances. Everything smells so expensive and refined. My top 3 are... 3.Nawab Of Oudh 2.Montabaco Parfum 1.Montabaco Verano
I have bottles of white gold, rose gold, Ormonde woman, Tolu, ambre royal, royal elixir, osmanthus, Tsarina, and Champaca. Can you tell I like the house? 😅 I’m on my second 120ml of Tolu.
My wife and I were in Miami at the beginning of the month and stopped in to Osme Perfumery. She tried a number of Ormond Jayne and purchased a bottle of Levant. It's a beautiful fragrance and I love how it smells on her. Definitely not a beast mode fragrance; very intimate. Since we're traveling she's and did not pack a lot of fragrance with her, so we've been enjoying this quite a bit. It's definitely a new favorite and a nice introduction to the house.
I love Ormonde Women! It is one of the first few niche fragrances I have ever tried. It’s very green and I do think it’s totally unisex. It has a hemlock note… not sure how it smells like but it has an interesting and soothing effect to me. Definitely worth a try ❤
@@hobojump7651 I had tried the classic sample set (not the orange bottles) from Ormonde Jayne and the only full bottles I own are Montabaco and Ormonde Woman. I would probably get Osmanthus and Frangipani if I can get a good deal… but I really like them all. I have heard the orange bottle line are leaning more feminine but I have never sample them. I will have to say they are all very classy and most will not go wrong. IMO it is a brand that’s worth to discover.
@@demimiforrest1349 which one have sweet, warm dry down between frangipani&ormonde woman, hun? frangipani make me think about dough of almond paste used in french pastries so nutty, and sweet. I have seen levant, and tolu have orange bottles, which sounds good if leaning to feminine marketing :D
When I sold Oriental antiques and fine art, Ormonde Jayne's Vanille d'Iris was It!!! Goes perfectly w a silk blouse, pencil skirt, heels and a commission! lol I let go of this fragrance when i quit the gig for good! : ) Thanks, Sebastian...
I really enoy this house and already own Levant, which has become my summer signature fragrance. I have a sensitive nose so I really appreciate that these perform well without being overbearing.
Yay it's an Ormonde Jayne video! I used to to not be that excited about the brand because I preferred beast mode but I've been won over by them since I got a sample of Levant a few years ago. They are so sophisticated that they don't need to be loud. I was sad I could only get a 50ml of Levant and not larger because I love it so much and its the only perfume my husband goes crazy for. I like Tolu, Ambre Royale and Tiaf also. I haven't tried Woman, Evernia or Montobaco yet but I'm looking forward to getting my nose on them and also Indus.
I have Indus from Ormonde Jayne & I love it. I like it more than damask & levant, the other roses I have tried from the house. I want to try other scents from this house.
Great video sir. I only own Ormone Man and it is one of my favorite perfumes in my collection. I still need to try others from this house and thanks to you, I know which ones are up my alley and which ones not, at least from this 9.
quel coincidence! Ormonde Woman arrived from Scentbird this month. black hemlock, coriander, grass oil, jasmine, violet. not super assertive, but wonderful
One of my favorite houses, Thank you for the video Sebastian. I hope you are feeling better! Have you tried Tanger-a gorgeous orange blossom fragrance to wear during the summer. I also recently bought Sakura- their new cherry blossom fragrance. So beautiful!
Great list Sebastian. Thank you. My favorite from Ormonde Jayne is a flanker of Montabaco. It is Montabaco Verano. Has a beautiful grapefruit note that I feel elevates the original DNA of Montabaco. One of my favorites this time of year :)
Ormande Man is the only one of the house I have experience with, and I like it enough for a full bottle, despite poor performance. Scent profile wise, I place it somewhere between Mancera Kumkat Wood and Acqua di Parma Blu Mediterraneo Ginepro di Sardegna, both of which I rank highly in my collection.
Ormande Woman is a favourite of mine. It has a similar smell as Ormande Man but gets really creamy and green. Very unique scent and I think unisex. Go smell it!!
So far I have Montobacco intensivo and a decant of Ormonde man. Montobacco is pretty amazing it wears nicely in temperate weather and really compliments a suite very nicely. I’d love to try royal elixir and Isfarkand
Great list Sebastian! Ormonde Jayne really is a beautiful house, you should totally check the other lines that, I think, got the best fragrances of the house (Montabaco flankers, Gold Collection and Elixir Colletion). It would be great that you could try those! Greetings from Chile.
Great house review. Now I need to go find my decants of Levant and Sakura and give them another go. I’m in the Sacramento area, and I was wondering; Is San Francisco the closest place you know of to go get your nose on niche perfumes?
Yes you can go to ZGO. I'm organizing an event. A San Francisco Fragrance Sniffing Around Town event. Find out about it in this video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-VjfDB1tFzsI.html you can skip around to the section I discuss it.
I have Amber Royal, Tanger and Montabaco Verano, and they're all lovely. I think I'm a bit of a late arrival to this house as I think I've missed out on some great Montabaco flankers that are now discontinued. Trying to get my nose on Gatsby 22 before committing to a full bottle. Tolu sounds nice too. Thanks for featuring OJ.
I really did need to watch this video! Thank you. True story, I was shopping for a hyper feminine fragrance, last Sunday (Dalina as a benchmark) and the perfume assistant showed me 'Lavent' for the first time and OMG I couldn't believe how close to Dalina it was but with its own distinct presence. I will eventually buy both to add to my growing collection.
I own Montabaco and Tolu. Must admit Montabaco is one of my fave fragrances, although not my style at all as I usually wear only gourmands. But Byzance and Tsarina are on my wishlist 🙂
As you’ve said, they’re not the most potent of fragrances but they really are beautifully made. I tried a few of these at my local department store a few weeks ago and so I’m keen to dive into Ormond Jayne fragrances this year. Keen to try Tolu, signature for women, levant , evernia, Montana or and muscat. I really like how they’re composed, I believe a lot of these were created by Geza Schoen.
I haven't yet in fact I discussed them in this video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-zP02OOMhFT4.html and I mentioned I was going to do this video but I'm curious to try! :)
I got my nose on this whole house the other day I’m so impressed it’s was only one or two I did not like . And you actually have my favorite as your number one tolu is amazing !!!! My god it’s good
Dear Sebastian, Great list I agree this house exudes class. I love Ormonde Man my first foray into niche holds a very special place in my heart. Thanks a million
Ormonde Jayne is on my list of houses to check out. Ormonde Man, Montabaco Intensivo or Verano, Ambre Royal, Black Gold, and Nawabh of Oud are all the ones on my list. Now I have a few more to add.
I'm about your age and I found Ormonde Man quite geriatric. I also found Montabaco Intensivo much better overall vs the regular Montabaco. Have you tried them both ?
I have so many favourite scents. I discovered them years ago. I recently bought some of the newer scents. Evernia, the Elixirs and White Gold are currently favourites.
As usual a great video Seb, but one suggestion. If you could show the notes/accords on the screen while you review like you did for the Montobaco review, it would be great.
Really like Osmanthus and Evernia. Get a lot of cardamom from Evernia in the opening. Two others I remember enjoying from the La Route collection are X'ian and Tanger, the later being a really happy citrus uplighting one.
Interestingly, Ormonde Woman has the note of Black Hemlock- the same note found in the cult classic Slumberhouse Norne. Where Norne is primarily Hemlock, Woman is far more subtle.
I went and sprayed on my sample of Ormonde Man while watching this. Geza sure loves his Molecules! Surprised you didn't mention Isfarkande, one of my favorite freshies! Does that mean you don't like it?
Champaca is stunning, and I tend to dislike lighter florals. There’s just something about the quality of the ingredients that makes it gorgeous, and I think the myrrh is the perfect touch to keep it from floating away from the ethereal, almost juicy bamboo.
Tolu is my signature/one of all time favorite fragrances. (I’m a young woman.) On me, it’s very powdery and the orchid and rose really come through. I think a certain type of man could pull it off!
I would replace Ormonde Man with Ormonde Elixir. The oud along with black hemlock and jasmine in that one is a beauty. Not that powerful, but if you don't mind that, along with hefty price, then try it.
