I was about to make this same comment before seeing yours. It's so noisy and scathing - truly among the most extreme death metal in the scene these days.
Once again, I could not agree with you more about that Mortiferum album. Every song is a banger including the interlude. That album was actually my #1.

Yeah dude, that Superstition is pretty special. That band Infernal Conjuration does a really good job invoking some Altars of Madness riffage without being a clone band too. That Fulci is incredible as well.

Good list..I'm a huge death metal fan but I found this year too many 20buck spin bands and the new wave all sound like incantation RIP offs and swedish death metal scene..my fav death metal this year was nile..I have a lit of albums on your list..keep up good job
viking raven although I love all these new 20buck spin bands and bought most all of them I do agree they ALL are worshiping Incantation and Autopsy altar too much. Not a lot originality

I'm still working on mine. There are a few on here I need to hear. I've been a fan of Thrash, Sludge, Stoner/Doom, Grindcore and Classic Heavy Metal my whole life but Death Metal is something I got into relatively recently (like the last 3 or 4 years). I'm so glad I stumbled upon this channel. I recently have been getting more into death metal I mostly listen to thrash. I cant tell you how many death metal bands you've turned me onto. Just want to say thanks without this channel I wouldn't know half of these bands.
Check out Funereal Presence - Achatius, might need a few spins but my fav BM album of 2019. Also Ultra Silvam - The Spearwound Salvation is great BM from sweden with mad good riffing.

Definitely gonna be checking out a couple you mentioned that I slept on this year...Some of the ones I been playing hard, the stuff you had to say I thought was just spot on. I been getting into making my list and this year is just brutal...So many excellent albums let alone masterpieces. Possessed will definitely be higher on my list but that's me...I was thrilled they were gonna do studio album but kept thinking the legacy of Seven Churches, lineup changes etc...It freaking just blew me away front to back, honestly I personally couldn't have hoped for more and hope the lineup stays intact. I was just blasting Fluids and Devourment after your vid last night, two I thought were phenomenal. That Fluids album cover just bleeds old school Carcass. Mgla and Cattle, incredible. Great picks! I have not listened to the BI record yet because it's so hyped I know it will not live up to my expectations. If you have not heard Bastard Grave - Diorama of Human Suffering, check that out, based on your picks it might be right up your alley. Regarding Sinmara, it's quite good but in my opinion there were at the very least a handfull of better black metal releaes this year.

What about Cosmic Putrefaction - At The Threshold Of The Greatest Chasm? Very solid both cosmic and cavernous somewhat new-york styled death metal from Italy with massive sound. One of the best in 2019 - somehow I don't remember you ever even mentioned it... Never heard of it? Ur listened to and u disliked it and decided not to put it into top 20 list. I think at least 20-15 place is guaranteed.

have you heard of Gruzja? Polish Black Metal band which has released TWO phenomenal albums this year. Please check them out before the year ends! They are definetly worth a spot on this list!
A black metal album from earlier this year you might like is Aeon Winds: Stormveiled. Avantegarde blackened doom. Very atmospheric & hits you in the gut from the beginning. Also, Blood Incantation is a great pick, phenomenal album!

I think it's totally deserved that Mgla gets the traction that it gets but what I don't understand is that Kriegsmaschine, which is the same two guys, lags so far behind in popularity. Why didn't their album last year more lists?
I thought that Umbra Conscientia was an INCREDIBLE dissonant black metal album from this year, it's strange to me that so few people are talking about it despite it just being released.
Agreed on MGLA and Sinmara. As a BM fan love both albums. Listened to Musmahhu. Pretty awesome... not to be a the wise ass who says aaaaaaaactually, but aaaaaaactually it sounds like blackened death metal to me.
