I was sad to not see Dueto Citiver in the span of the list. Please check it out! Amazing spicy, woody vetiver scent that projects hard and lasts for ages.
Yesterday I spent a free hour at Bergdorf’s and Saks concentrating on a new note for me: Vetiver. Roja’s Vetiver was an eye opener, achieving that rare WOW factor. Suddenly Frederic Malle’s Vetiver Extraordinaire lost its luster. I must add that Hermès’ Terre d’Hermes Intense Vetiver is bright and beautiful. Allow me to suggest that you try Thom Browne’s Vetyver Absolute (great depth) and Vetyver Cucumber (ideal for Spring).
You should really try Parfums Abusson Salted Vetiver, it's a cheapie but a very good scent. It reminds me of Milliseme Imperial with the same salty melon type scent and like Milliseme Imperial it's not the greatest perfomer but at 20 bucks you can't go wrong.
I bought Guerlain Vetiver back in the early 2000s(2003) I loved it a lot.I would love to have it again. It is an exorbitant amount these days on Ebay.199.00+ That's ridiculous. I'm a Vetiver fan as well.I also love the Oakmoss scents too(Quorum).

Max, I have a bottle of A&F Hempstead cologne that is vetiver and cypress. Can't find it anywhere anymore. I need to replace it with something similar but don't know what will be the closest match? Maybe Guerlane Vetiver??? Help me please!
Excellent series Max. Like you, vetiver is also my favourite note. Sycomore, Dior Vetiver and Guerlian are my holy trinity. I found private level too harsh for me personally. Also I have not tried Roja's vetiver and definitely need to!

I have Road's Vetiver parfum, but it just doesn't project at all. I absolutely adore the scent but it doesn't work on my skin. Have you had a similar issue with Roja's Vetiver? I've got Scandal and Danger, also parfum and both are ok, Elysium is also fine in terms of projection and sillage but my favorite of all, Vetiver, sadly isn't. Have you had a similar issue? Maybe it's just my body chemistry...
Vetiver Moloko is great but seems to get no mention online. Good to see Vetiver Glacee (Frozen in your list. It's a great one and not mentioned much these days.
I adore Vetiver perfume cologne by Roja Dove and also expect to see Grey Vetiver by Tom Ford among these 5. Being a big fan of Terre edt for 15 years I must admit that It’s Vetiver edition much simpler and not as rich, as sophisticated as Grey Vetiver.
I like Private Label but I prefer Incident Diplomatique its fantastic, Encre Noir all 3 are also my favorites, I haven't tried Roja Vetiver but I will, in general with the new Roja Parfums which do you prefer the Parfum Cologne or the Parfum? Thanks for the video Max!!!
Drag community, I need your help with choosing which vetiver fragrance I should by next! I did not like vetiver previously, since I felt it was pretty harsh. Then I tried BoIS de vetiver by Karl Lagerfeld, and really enjoyed it being subtle. In other words, I am a beginner and want to by a vetiver based summer fragrance. Please, do not recommend me something without motivation.
I own Guerlain Homme Leau Boisse, Terre De Hermes EDT. Lalique Encre Nior and Encre Nior Extreme. All are great scents. I will pick up Guerlain Vetiver sometime.
A great series. Thanks. I lately started to get into vetiver. However, I am extremely picky... that is, my skin chemistry is very picky :) I just can not wear any Guerlain, Chanel, Paco., Aramis, PDM, Creed... and most of the brands. There is something in the DNA of most brands that doesn't work for me. On me, they turn into a chemical soup, even if the ingredients are top notch. I do love Dior - I'm going to get my hands on Eau Sauvage Perfume that you've recommended and try it (I own Eau Sauvage EDT, which I adore). Same for Roja. One of the very few houses that my (picky :) skin loves is missing from your list - Lorenzo Villoresi. He has a pure, dirty, earthy and extremely dark vetiver that you should try. An extremely harsh opening (much harsher than Lalich's) but the dry down is unique, and wonderful. Worth a try.
Loved this. Early in my fragrance journey and just getting my feet wet in vetiver. Got a sample of Guerlain's and have blown through most of it in short order- definitely will buy a full bottle soon.
Loved the series max, wasn't expecting something so new being your number 1. You have got to do more of them. Would love to hear an amber list. Think you would be the first!!! Even if it's a top 5 or 10

Great video. My first vetiver based fragrance was Lalique EN Sport. Great fragrance. For last 3 month i tested Guerlain Vetiver. An oustanding fragrance. I finally bougt it yesterday on Notino, 200ml bottle for 36 Euro. Great fragrance for exellent price. Greetings from Croatia.
I can't even argue with this Top 5! I own 3 of the 5 but I'll def be getting Dior Vetiver soon. I'd put Private label #1 on my list and Chris Rusak 33 #2. Fume from Hendley Perfumes and Bruno Fazzolari Vetiverissimo and Lampblack are amazing too. Francesca Bianchi Black Knight is also another one I love
Outstanding! the wait & Hype was worth it. 1) TERRE D HERMES which defines the genre for me. 2) TERRE Intense Vetiver took the amp up citrus from the fresh version & combined it with the original vetiver. a great mix of the original & the Eau Fresh. 3) Parfums Vintage Evolution DE L'Homme. A clone of Elysium but amp up the vetiver. giving it a more appealing scent trail to me. Thank you for this vetiver journey Max
Good stuff, but isn't Roja 🕊️ vetiver very close to tom Ford grey vetiver? I had a sample of it and to me, it smelled almost identical. It just doesn't justify the price. How long does the cologne version last?

Great series Max. I learned a lot. I compared Lalique Encre Noire back to back with Guerlain simply because i own both. Encre Noire would be in my top ten for the dry down.
Yes! I totally agree on Roja! I haven't had the pleasure of trying the Parfum Cologne version but the Parfum is complex smoky greatness that is very sophisticated.
I also like Vetiver Parfum Cologne. I have a sample of the parfum. Need to try it out side by side. Still waiting on my Sultan Vetiver, but soon it will be here, I hope and that will be wonderful too.

Guerlain Vetiver is just fantastic. I know it may come across as "old" smelling to casual fans, but if you know your fragrances, this is an all time great.
I'm surprised that you didn't mention Tom Ford's Grey Vetiver EDP. It's so good. I also have Roja's Vetiver too. They are different though. Tom Ford has that citrus kick in the beginning, which is very nice.
