That fight is the only reason I haven’t bet against Cody in any fight even though he loses a lot. I’ve seen what he’s capable of doing when he’s having a good performance and he did it to Cruz of all people. Him taunting Cruz the whole fight was hilarious too. I feel like the theme is more so the awe factor of the fights as well as the performance. Volk did look incredible against Holloway but he had already beaten him twice and he didn’t finish him or knock him down. I saw someone mention Stipe vs Francis and that one seems perfect for this list. He outwrestled the guy who outclassed him the first time they fought and then knocked him out cold. Great performance and awe factor.

What about Michael Bisping's win over Luke Rockhold at UFC 199? Bisping took the fight on 17 days notice, and no one expected him to knock out Luke in the very first round and becoming the first British UFC champion. One of the highlights of his career in my opinion.

I think every fighter has their shining moment. I'm sure a lot of us have played a game, done a performance, sung a song, etc. They thought they would butcher but did well. Like life, fighters go through good and bad. An underdog winning doesn't make them a great, but a great losing sometimes tarnishes a legacy. Silva only exciting if he’s fighting someone who wil charge at him. In modern UFC he’s Israel Adesanya. Everyone would see the tape and see that if you charge in and make a mistake it’s over. That’s exactly who Israel and Silva are, Elite level strikers who are expert counterpunchers.

One of the most annoying takes in MMA for me, Cody Garbrandt's performance against Cruz, was not one of "the best championship performances in history" I don't care what way you edit the fight, how many times he did the robot, or his knockdowns. Dominick Cruz out landed him every single round of the fight, won two of the rounds and Garbrandt won 3-2 based on knockdowns. Which is a good performance, but in no way one of the best championship performances at all. To even have it above Dillashaw vs Barao in his divisions history is a disgrace.

@@ZakiBTW it wasn’t anywhere near flawless lmao, it was a 48-47 win for Cody in a relatively competitive fight (except for the Cody knockdown round). Cruz also landed more significant strikes than Cody in EVERY ROUND. It was a good performance but you can’t even put it on the same level as some of the REAL FLAWLESS top performances

Valentina's headkick set up was flawless and precise, she strike the body and didnt fully land at 1st strike then follow up the 2nd body kick and it landed which hurt Eye after that Eye is obviously falling for the set up approaching Valentina while guarding his body and kinda open for her head to be kick and Valentina saw it and took the opportunity, such technicality this is what Jiri is talking about the beauty of martial art and now i can appreciate this kind of beauty and i cant help but always be reminded by Conor's mindset after defeating Aldo "precision beats power, timing beats speed" if you connect the dots this is how beautiful martial art is 🔥🔥🔥🔥 PS: it should be Aldo vs Mcgregor in this clip, Fastest title fight finish in just 13seconds
