Really that's just show how tough mentality khabib has He endured more I hate khabib fans but love his character But man jose was tortured brutally here But khabib survived and came like a lion to McGregor
@@82bernt I agree tbh. Now that Khabib is gone the only lightweight that can Threaten him imo is Oliveira but even that is iffy. I also think he could very well beat Khabib in a rematch as well.
He these best we’ve seen so far, that Floyd Mayweather fight but even if you don’t think he did, you know he would if they took it to UFC, which to me, is more real fighting in boxing, because boxing is more of a sport
Biggest dethrone in UFC history. 10 years undefeated, all that talk, all that media, the McGregors winstreak to the title fight, Chad on short notice, all that. And then he knocks him out in 13 seconds. I still cannot believe this run in combination with that talk. This was a once in a lifetime run. Thank you Conor. Absolute legend!
Poor Aldo. You can literally see his spirit wilt with every press conference they did around the world. Guy was beaten long before he stepped into the cage. A master class in psychological warfare.
Very true. Even though he fell from the top, his story from the bottom to dethroning the P4P Aldo is STILL one of the greatest stories ever told in MMA. It was a true phenomenon and I watched the Aldo fight live. I remember, I was at Fiesta Cantina in West Hollywood, California. The whole place erupted.
@@chrisredfield6274 Plus the speed and certainty of his rise. How he went from joining the UFC in 2013 with a 'Who the fuck is Jose Aldo, man I would fight that guy in a heartbeat, I'd fight any of them in a heartbeat' attitude to killing the entire featherweight division and assassinating Aldo just two years later by 2015, not forgetting his injuries/recovery time and the switch from Aldo to Mendes after a world tour of build up. People forget how he beat Max Holloway with an injury, was determined to both come back quicker and better than anyone after said injury, how he immediately accepted Mendes with no ifs or buts as long as a belt was up for grabs and how he, with no excuses, continued training and took Mendes out despite another injury. The guy made sure he was getting that belt and no one can fault him for how flawlessly he both predicted and executed it.
@@hitek3138 Absolutely right. If prime Anderson is one of the GOATS then prime Conor (regardless of no title defences), fighting at 3 weights, beating interim champ contenders like Mendes on 2 weeks notice with a torn ACL, KO'ing Aldo in 13 seconds with one punch, dismantling with absolute ease, the same Alvarez who went on to destroy RDA in one round, collapse Gaethje and give Poirier two close battles (before the 1st one's DQ), is 100% a GOAT.
Hey Conor you're a good fighter , how would you feel if this guy Jose beats your ass ? Never say never untill you've won the fight is what I always say .
@@jontellie he ruined multiple weight divisions for his own personal gain and never defended any of his belts. he took opportunities that only became available to him and ensured that they would never be given to another fighter. he also tried and failed to secure part ownership in the ufc brand itself. but if elevating the sport meant appealing to casuals, than yeah he did that REALLY well.
@@jontellie he left them on ice for while he had no intentions of defending the belt "Just minutes after McGregor smashed Jose Aldo, UFC President Dana White appeared on the Fox Sports 1 post-fight show to discuss his vacating the title. Notorious pushed back against the idea, stating in no uncertain terms he was intent on becoming the UFC's first-ever dual champion and was capable of juggling two belts at the same time." he then went on to lose to diaz, rematch diaz, win, somehow fight for a title after now going 1-1 in LW, and win the title all before being stripped by the company because he never did what he promised
He simply just heard that phrase from the crowd, and repeated it, so not quite impressive as a lot of people think. It's a common chant used by the Brazilian fans, which is "uh vai morrer".
This version of mcregor was the one we all vicariously lived trough because you just could'nt believe it was real life.absolute fucking masterpiece of a run.
Oh yes, it does while watching this I basically remembered everything that was going around the time of this fight. Like where I was, what I was doing. Where I was working etc etc. It felt pretty good.

This was by far the best run anyone had winning the belt. He was truly special when he first broke into the UFC and remained so until he got drunk enough where he thought he could beat Floyd. It was never the same after that.
@Bobby Dillon u by all means have a point but y put ur body through more damage?? This isn't just like going back to normal work. He can get seriously hurt in that job.
Damn I totally forgot Aldo’s record was 25-1 going into the fight which is just insane both the record and how good aldo was in his prime but also how Conor starched him
Yeah, his 2015-2016 run was probably the greatest run of anyone in MMA history in terms of the attention he brought to the sport, the money he generated, and the level that he elevated the sport. His personality and charisma was literally unlike anything we had seen in MMA before, and it caught on with fans worldwide who may have never before watched mixed martial arts or the UFC. Conor literally changed the game forever. He changed the way fighters promote themselves, and the way callouts are done after a fight, he brought the sport into the mainstream like no other fighter (including Rousey), and he inspired a new era of fighters who have been trying to emulate his presence and his charisma ever since.

MMA fans tend to have short-term memories but this was mastering the art of war. UFC was big business before this fight, but it went to the moon once Conor planted his flag. Say whatever you want about him from your couch, but he is absolutely one of the best ever and grew this sport tenfold.
@@randelestepp3022 they’re both great examples of taking away a champion’s confidence. Fury was more impressive because he was such an underdog and had no push behind him, he made himself a star when in reality Klitschko must have thought it would be just another defence before all the media started. McGregor was already being marketed as a superstar.
Aldo said in a brazilian interview that behind the cameras Connor is a very nice guy (what surprised me coming from Aldo), that he was very respectfull and said things like "its all business", and then when the cameras are on he turns into a character for the audience. He also said Connor is always drunk.
@@davids7909 It shouldn’t have happened in the first place and he said that, atleast he took the situation like a professional by acknowledging it and apologising and stating he knew he was in the wrong
When you hear Conor talk you can see he is very intelligent, very witty, and well spoken. Too bad his focus went to money and not the same passion he once had. He went from a unique special fighter...to a basic everyday celebrity.
He became famous in Cage Warriors with very little money to his name to now being a very wealthy multi-millionaire and even though he lost his last like 3 or 4 fights and he likes to party with the snow and Irish whiskey and likes to punch elderly men in a pub, he is still the same Connor underneath I'd like to believe. I think the change in Connor happened before, during and after the loss to Khabib, something during that whole time period switched in Connor. That shift from a funny, determined hype machine in to a vicious, unprofessional and meaner character. When I say unprofessional I mean his attitude with law enforcement, fighting outside the octagon and partying like a mad man. But for me I can't blame a man starting at net zero, working so fucking hard at Jui Jitzu and MMA and becoming a legend in the UFC whilst racking up millions of dollars in the process. I'd bet my next 2 years wages that kind of fame and money would corrupt anybody, how can it not?
Him comparing the fight to how he took the belt in the press is so amazing… literally a blink and the fight was done… what a superstar her was for putting UFC on an international recognition
I don't think you get the bigger picture look at his tattoo as well it's literally a gorilla ripping into gold or something lol it all comes full circle.
@Austin Kilgore its confusing? Let me explain. When someone acts like like an arrogant disrespectful asshole it can be satisfying to watch karma come back and bite them. Eg yesterday. Connor-"hes going to get carried out on a stretcher" Connor- gets carried out on a stretcher. Karma
@Austin Kilgore I generally do to be honest. I rarely comment on mma posts. I think it's just the fact hes a controversial figure that's pissed of so many people your always going to have people ready to point out his flaws. To be honest with how deluded some of his hard core fans are I think they need it pointed out from time to time.
39:57 In several of Aldo's fights I saw him doing this sequence of strikes and Conor studied him well to the point of hitting a nice hook and knocking him out. when you are a champion you are the most studied guy in the category. Total credit to Conor as well as Edwards with that kick to the head by Usman. I see people talking about "stroke of luck" the luck they talk about so much means training, study and dedication. I don't know who said "the more I study and dedicate myself, the luckier I get" luck can be that and not a random thing that fell from the sky I am Brazilian
I think Conor is a *perfect* example of a good fighter who had the mental warfare carry him through many fights. Nerves can really mess anyone up on the big day, and Conor was incredible at instilling that nervousness/fear into people. I think it goes to show why it took someone like Nate Diaz (who literally gives zero fucks about anything) to first beat him. And then someone like Khabib, who has stone cold emotions. And then Poirier, cause he already lost to him before, and he has nothing to lose. It's very interesting.
Khabib I feel like could have been susceptible to the mind games if Connor played it right. But he acted drunk and stupid and it just pissed Khabib off it didn’t shake him on all on the day
Conor is an elite fighter. Hes just not the best fighter anymore at 155 for whatever reason. At this time he was the best fighter on the roster besides jon jones probably. Conor losing to khabib and poirier doesnt mean he isnt elite. That narrative is nuts to me. Its almost impossible to stay undefeated when you fight the best of the best and go up and down weightclasses. He has been an elite fighter since he got to the ufc dont take away from his skills just because of a loss or two. I hate casual fans who think a loss or a win changes a fighters past. Elite fighters lose in the ufc all the time dude. Just trying to help you stop spreading a false narrative that people are getting tired of. Conor is a douche but hes an elite fighter. Still beats most guys in the top 10. Poirier and charlie olives are a bad matchup for him though
He beat Nate right after that and khabib is just that good of a grappler and porrier in the second fight he got a lucky hit and their third fight Conor broke his own leg
2015 was such a nice year, I’m having shivers just thinking about how fucking hyped I was for ufc 189 and 194 which is one of the many reasons I cannot wait to see conor back in the octagon against Dustin because whether you like Conor or not he brings a very unique/special type of energy/vibe every night he fights
5:08-5:20. A perfect explanation of what made Conor such a killer back then. Two kids and millions of dollars later, just doesn’t seem to have that same passion and energy for this anymore.
I feel like this is a joke and not a quote. But just in case, He says Babality* (Baby). Which is a finisher in Mortal Kombat. There's Fatality, Brutality, Animality, Babality, and Friendship. Jose was calling Connor a baby and implying he's going to "late term abort" this clown. P.s. It didn't go that way 🤣
Its crazy because every1 acted like Aldo was old and washed up after Conor koed him. Aldo is still fighting today beating guys. This was young prime Aldo who hadnt lost in a decade.
I honestly thought prime aldo ended at the chan sun Jung fight. He broke something in his leg or tore it, I cant remember and he stopped throwing leg kicks like he used to. Aldos leg kicks were brutal in his prime and tore up his opponents legs. At that point he slowly started declining but still beat Lama and Mendes again. Unlucky but conor still beat a good aldo. I think your prime is when you perform the best and that injury in that Jung fight literally made him not throw leg kicks anymore and now he doesn't throw em at all.
Psychological warfare at its finest - Conor will always be King . I am Irish but that being said I Give Aldo all the respect due , he fought hard for many many years and is beloved by many Irish people as millions all the world .
Hahaha fucking losers! He was overrated never was that good! He fought midgets that was the reason of his success ! He’s 3-3 against fighters of his own size.
That is the Conor that will always be in my memory. Funny, determined, master mind, and thousands of irish people behind his back. No bully attitude, no whiskey mongul, no trash talk below the belt.
I’ve noticed how Aldo didn’t care in the beginning of this video and as it goes on he’s slowly giving in to being aggravated. Right around the point of McGregor rubbing his shoulders it seems when it all went downhill.
i believe aldo was starting to study his past fights and started seeing how good he ACTUALLY was and started getting worried, before, u saw him playing pool then later on he started training again. my opinion at least
@bob builder i think it would because Aldo is one of the goats and before that fight he was simply too good,he let connor get in his head and it was over before it even started

The reason the fight was so fucking shocking wasn’t because Aldo got KO’d in the manner he did, it was because throughout the buildup Conor said exactly how the fight would play out and it did. He really was Mystic Mac.
I feel thankful for witnessing the greatest story in sports history and the greatest rise to stardom and greatness of all time and the best showman is sports history in his prime and in his prime also one of the best fighters of all time he was so focused on becoming the double champ like he was in cage warriors the way he completely picked eddie alvarez apart was absolutely insane i dont think any LW would have beaten him that nigh. He was so fast so laser focused and we saw the most beautiful counter striking like ever it was magical i mean eddie won against gaethje not even a year later he was a top top level fighter but a conor that motivated made him look like an amateur. I really hope that McGregor's loss to Poirier allows to him to get back to how he was in this era. The banter, the cheekiness is what makes him entertaining out of the cage and it's what made Aldo overreach and lose the fight.
But dude conor was able to do that before because he had this certain cloak of invincibility about himself, all that comedic trash talk wouldn't do half as much damage back as opponents will now be able to use conors weaknesses and recent defeats to undermine his confidence and level the playing field psychologically, i think its fair to say we won't be seeing this mcgregor for a while

When it comes to Eddie I feel like Conor just had one of those nights and Eddie had a bad one, much like Cody vs Cruz
You could see it in Aldo that he could feel the wind of change in the air all throughout the entire campaign all the way up to the fight. He reigned for a long time and as he took the belt from someone, so will they from McGregor and so the cycle repeats itself among all kings. McGregor got in his head, but it was attached to the fact that it could feel the end of his era in his soul. To me what counted is that he utlimately stayed humble> I think that's where the real test is. I also think that McGregor lured him into doing excatly what he wanted him to do.
