Learned some new things for sure, thanks. I would have thought the SR71 would fit in this nicely, it did not just reach high speeds for a moment, but could fly at them for long durations, mission after mission. It did get fairly hot and thirsty though!

yeah but even if it didn't desintegrated in the atmosphere it wouldn't be the fastest object since it would be on a sun escape velocity but orbital mechanics states that the closer you are to an object the more atraction force you have, so if you are on a sun lower orbit you will be traveling way faster than 6 times earth escape velocity, like mercury and venus, so helios is still the fastest man made object because it is on a excentric heliocentric orbit, but i think that parker solar probe is not that far from being the fastest
