OMG!!! My city! I didn't expect this to happen so quickly. Welcome to the city of eternal spring!! Here there is always a very pleasant climate. Where you will find an imposing hill call Morro de Arica, ex-Isla Alacrán, the oldest mummies on the planet, two valleys that supply the entire city with cheap vegetables: Azapa and Lluta. Inside these are many local towns and also the national park that shows you in the video or the highest lake in the world, Lake Chungará. Our Carnival with the Strength of the Sun, one of the biggest and transcendent in Latin America that integrates and unites us with countries like Peru and Bolivia. There are beaches along the coast: to the north you find the Wetland, a bird sanctuary, and the Anzota caves to the south. We have a lot of things more !! A great city to live or visit, enjoy and love life. I hope you enjoyed John, I hope to see u. A hug from an Ariqueño. I love my city! Arica Siempre Arica. Mayor es mi lealtad.
Hi Jon! You should come to Arica in february. We have the 3rd largest Carnaval in Sudamerica, it lasts 3 days and has thousands of dancers. Look up for Carnaval con la Fuerza del Sol!
My city!! Thanks you for coming and i really hope you enjoyed your stay. Someday come at the Carnaval con la Fuerza de Sol. 2020 will be at february and its a huge festival with more that 10.000 dancers from Chile, Peru and Bolivia. Its with the beginning of carnivals and celebrations here in the north for the aymara's culture, calling for the rain. Saludos!
paulina md hey! Absolutely and I would love to come back someday!!!!! Such a beautiful place! It’s my dream to come back in February to see the parade!!! One day my friend one day!
Awesome video!!! thx a lot for showing our city as its best! Very very glad. Hope to see you, your wife and Moses back soon. For your next visit you MUST go the Anzota's Caves (extreme south coast 10 k), Lluta's river mouth (extreme north 7k), Azapa valley and the archeological museum (chinchorro oldest mummies), Hummingbird sunctuary (also in azapa), AGRO market (largest in town, HUGE) among other great stuff. Again, thank you very much. Everyone welcome to discover the city and the whole region.
@@JonGrossGringo Jon, thanks for the awesome video. Since you like to travel, I like to ask you a question. I'm looking to retire in South America or Central America. I'm curious what are the cities with the lowest humidity year around that are on the Ocean?
Arica . I hope to visit this beautiful city someday. Jon your videos are great and the exposure you're giving to Chile is truly amazing thank you for your excellent work in the long run you will be compensate..
I visited Arica in 1989 and in 1999 but I see that now it's much more beautiful! Great video and great shots! Really great shots! By the way "guatitas" are stomach meat! It looks like towel but the best part is the brown and soft meat!
I can't believe you came! I recommended you to come in a previous video. Anyways, I'm glad that you appreciate our culture. There is a lot more to know about this small city, but it's a very cool thing that you got to know Arica. Great video 👏👏
Greeting from South Africa. Thanks for this eye-opening video of this beautiful, unknown place. I want to go now. Got a Namibia South African west coast feel to it.
Great job Jon. Your videos about every place in Chile are awesome!!. I ve visited all of them but it is great to revisite those places again. Thanks a lot.
I know! We are so far away that the prices for plane tickets are pretty expensive but Cristina is right you can find them for around $1,000 :) it’s so worth it!
Thanks a lot ... Arica City is so pritiest city in the north of Chile, has an excellent weather, large and "neverending" sand beaches and riviera ... special for bikeing, surf and swiming. It is real amazing and special place to visit and even for live.
Saludos.
That is absolutely amazing!! Wow so beautiful!! Mmm okay so that beach is nice and doesn’t make your bones hurt like in Algarrobo,Viña, quisco etc mm interesting. Moses is soooo adorable! The last part was a cuteness overload for me.
Excelente video Muchísimas Gracias .!!! Felicitaciones !!!
I love your videos especially when you travel. But I’m dying for you to go to valparaíso. So far I’ve seen awesome footage from everywhere even viña. I’m keep hoping you’ll one day go and do some awesome drone shots of the hills.
Your videos are just beautiful and the music complements them to the tee! El picante de guatitas es muy ricooooo .... I guess it’s an acquired taste ... you need to have some more LOL!! Glad to know that you and your family enjoyed our beautiful Arica !
The best part of the video... Moses! he is to die for and getting so big and cute!😍Arica, la ciudad de la eterna primavera, the forever Spring city😊El Morro a historic place where an important battle between Chileans and Peruvians took place in the 18 hundreds. Arica's warmer beach is a little one called la Lisera. Our mummies are amazing and the oldest in the world, 3000 years older than the ones in Egypt! And you ate güatitas! yuck I hate those😣 no wonder you didn't like them much.. great video!
I don't want to encourage you to put baby pictures on the internet, but I can't help it. HE'S SO ADORABLE!!! Evelyn says she wishes she could jump into the video and hold him!
If you come to Iquique, please go to Pica, is an oasis in the middle of the desert, with a natural warm thermal water pool. its awesome and I live there 😆 would def love a meet up.
Hey Jon, congrats for this video of my beautiful city, greetings from a tourism guide of this region, I hope you come back. Byeee ✌👋, ( absolutely thumb up)

CrankViewer Jajajajajaja!!!! Guatitas is an original spanish dish call it "callos a la madrileña"or made it in many way in Chile or perú, but is a hard dish for foreigners, and always with a good chilean red wine.
