I didn't see any top fuel dragsters. I saw some top alcohol nostalgia dragsters.

Unglaublisch! I am impressed with that early Cadillac, but the engine looks ridiculous.

Wouldn't it be sweet to be there and hear those Nostalgia TF cars cruize. Yer right JoeC, they're not running on nitro on the street. For thoe who did not notice, these cars have no cooling system and can't run far. Nitro explosions in their Hemi's woukd have them overheated before they made a block down the street. We applaud those owners who were OK with spending the big money it costs them to share their wonderful race cars with the folks who love them.

I'll never understand why people want to ruin, what would otherwise be a great video, with unwanted music? We would rather hear the sounds of the motors, screeching tires, and natural happenings. If we want to hear music, we can find it all over the internet.

From :35 - 1:35 those ARE Top Fuel dragsters from the 1960's. For this event they were probably running on alcohol so the engines wouldn't overheat. Or may a very small percentage so people could smell the nitro.

When those "top fuel" dragsters were actually racing, they were classified as AA/FD - AA Fuel Dragster. The phrase "Top Fuel" was not in use then. Are these cars running on Nitro or Alcohol? Nitro produces a popcorn popping sound in the exhaust. Only one of the AA/FD cars has an exhaust sound anywhere close to that. While, as some commenters claim, nitro burns cooler than alcohol, it costs a ton more per gallon. I would say these AA/FD cars are running alcohol with just a touch of nitro.

I'm sure some of these cars have run nitro. They might have been burning ethanol instead as not to overheat. Top fuel or nitro burning class cars are known for the crackle. Ethanol burns much smoother.

You say that these top fuel dragsters are running on alcohol to keep the engine cool, and these top fuel cars could not cruise on nitromethane, or they would burn up the motor. And then you tell the posters here, that they are negative and ignorant, when in fact it is you who are ignorant. An engine on nitro will run twice as cool as an engine on alcohol, due to the high latent heat vaporization of nitro. The high fuel flow volume of a nitro burning motor, also adds to the cooling of the motor. Did you personally test the fuel in these cars ? So, how do you know they were running alcohol ? Sir, you owe everyone here an apology.
