My dobermann Duke was like this. Even same brown colour. He'd make noises if I'd stop massaging him and then would purr like a cat when I did. He'd often jump and sit on me, or would prop himself up with his front legs on the couch beside me and look at me while sitting like a human. He loved listening to music, especially opera, and would even hum along. He also loved movies. He died in my arms on April 24, 2018. He had cancer and congestive heart failure. He walked out into my backyard, stumbled left and right and jolted forward then fell onto his belly. I immediately tried to pick him up and his breathing subsided and he became like a piece of rubber. I started furiously doing CPR for 5 minutes until I was covered in sweat, but it was no use. I watched his eyes extinguish several cms from my face, and his eyes roll back... I miss you Dukey. Rest in peace my little friend. I hope I will see you again, in a different world, without all this pain
One of the very best dogs I have ever lived with was a smallish stray female dobey that adopted us years ago. She died of cancer but was the sweetest, most intelligent and sensitive animals I have ever known (second to the little Norwegian Buhund I have now). That dobey was a comedian and the best babysitter you could imagine. She kept the kids from running crazy through the house by trotting after them, gumming their heels and barking in a whisper until they slowed down. Amazing breed characteristics in this dog.
My mom used to feed our dobermans the leftover mashed potatoes with a big spoon when I was a kid. Never failed to make us all laugh so hard it hurt. They are such good dogs and have the greatest personalities.
I will add my sister had a German shepherd (Sherman leopard as we called her) who was extremely dramatic as well. Maybe it's a German dog thing? All of our dogs have been rescues. Two dobes, a Rhodesian ridgeback/lab mix, a Chesapeake mix and a German shepherd mix. All adults when we adopted them. All terrific dogs! Pretty sure we will always have a Dobe. When we get old, we will adopt a senior dobe. BEST BREED EVER!!
DoberDRAMA is HILARIOUS!!! I'm currently snuggling with my DoberLady Penny Lane. Dobes are SUCH circus clowns, they should wear big floppy shoes and a red nose. BAHAHAHAAA!! Cripes, that red Dobe sounds so much like our red girl. My husband laughs when I feed her with a fork. Such a well mannered lady.
We recently adopted a very large chiweenie from a rescue animal shelter, but he just doesnt look like hes part weenie dog 😂 his face looks exactly like a doberman lolol maybe they are wrong, because to me he looks like a mini doberman. 😂😂😂 his ears are straight up and he has so much personality! Awesome video!
Every Dober video i watch they just have to comment about cropped ears and tails...cmon people. Dobermanns are a not Labradoodles or just a simple house dog. They are loyal protectors and guards. They always had to have their ears and tails cropped since 1890. Cut this ''animal protecting'' bullcrap. Nobody kills them when they just crop their ears and tail. Better protect dogs from animals like people - who kill or kick dogs for fun
I agreed. I wish I was a cat or dog, a wild one, far away from humans. I'm embarrassed to be humans. We are idiots. Mary Failin' for instance. Look it up. Oklahoma teacher strike. Besides, we are jerks to sweet animals that just want to protect us, we kill them to put them "out" of their misery. Who said they feel pain? Science can't explain what other living things like these cute, sweet, loyal dogs are feeling.
... crazy, but lovely! Just read the book 'The Doberman'. A dog with uncut ears and a long tale is not a doberman. This dog is created. It's a Rottweiler-Pinscher-Mix. And the creator, Dr. Dobermann, cut the ears and the tale of the puppie. The dog isn't tortoured of this treatment. Too young.
Heinz-Werner Leve he cut the ears and tail as it was a protection dog and made it difficult to hold onto, I have 2 dobies, undocked and full ears, great family pets, amazing dogs but even with ears and tails would still defend my family to the end.
as i do disagree...sorta...i don't think it matters after the fact....my dobie missed it for the first 6 months i think but after that it was forgotten......i can imagine it would be like an amputation with the "pain that isn't there" but she did well and was a fantastic pet!!!! I can't wait to have another one!!!
That second dog is dangerous. Thats not just bickering, its going beyond. Im not an expert, but I know enough to know that dog is becoming dangerous. They needed to snap that dog out of that moment.
