It does beg a genuine question though. Why is the name "Liverpool" pronounced as such when the art gallery from which it gets its name is not pronounced the same way?
It’s not named after an art gallery it was a town in 1190 when it was called Liuerpul, meaning a pool or creek with muddy water. Eventually modern spelling it became Liverpoole and then Liverpool. The liver building is not an art gallery it’s an office building it was built for use by the Royal Liver Friendly Society in 1911.
That being said I don’t know why Liverpool and Liver are pronounced different I suppose so you don’t mix it up with liver like the organ? Maybe it sounded better.
@Donice09 Ah nice, I was actually hoping someone would explain it in the comments. Honestly, though, questioning the pronouniciation of most things in English is a fairly bad idea.

We do say very much the same thing but with different emphasis. "Oh... no, a drug dealer is here!" Starts high pitched and hesitant, drops at the ellipses, gains confidence, speed and volume through the 2nd bit.
I like how Top Gear used the KNIGHT RIDER theme song for when james pulled up his limo. I actually watched a few KNIGHT RIDER episodes, even though I wasn't here back when it first came out. ALso an AWD limo by james? well if two people controlled it at the same time, it could very well work (even though one of the steering wheels was broken.)

You simply cannot convey the humor of these sketches with a 5 second clip. Context matters a lot for this show. There are other YT channels that do the editing much better than this. But hey is you find this contextless collection of sound bites funny, good for you
