I’m totally in love with the 2023 Paint Trends! Personal favorites are “Warm Neutrals” and “Umber Undertones.”I can’t wait to use one of these gorgeous colors in my Primary Bedroom makeover! What are y’all’s favorites?
The warm neutrals are fabulous....also saw a large bulls eye mirror with satelite smaller mirrors that you have placed by your staircase. Would love to know where to find it!!!!
Thank you so much for your paint color tips, I wish I can hire you , I love Glam, glitzy decor, I was about to paint my living room accent wall black, Stone cutter is dark enough, hopefully it goes with my living room decor, I have blue, white, silver, with a pop of purple in my decor, I subscribed to your channel , you are beautiful and have great taste!😒💕🌸🌸🌸
Ashley, im very curious on the white paint color that you have in the background. Looks terrific. Im scrambling to commit myself on picking a white for my interior. Im indecisive, I was looking at BM Cloud White, Dove White, Simply White or Sherwin Williams Alabaster, Pure White or Snowbound. Do you mind disclosing the white color in the room your in? Thanks.
Interior design has become something similar to fast fashion, last thing I knew white and neutrals were the thing…We’ll never be able to catch up if we design our spaces base on current trends, best alternative just to do what ever pleases you, and your eyes 👀
White and neutrals are still a thing, and will always be. They're classic and timeless and that's the best thing you can do to a space....create an environment that is warm and timeless and classic. It's the best return for your investment. ✌️
Never design your personal space for trend, never. Always stick to classic and you will never have a, I just threw this together in one day at home goods. Create what appeals to you and use items and furniture that are meaningful to you. A picture frame a mirror or an antique piece of furniture that you inherited or purchased while on a drive somewhere. A traditional/modern styles home is timeless and expensive looking.
Don't forget the light and airy ones Sherwin-Williams accessible beige for 2023 is a good one. Beige is the new color. And if you don't want to go dark this one is perfect.
I love your channel. I would love it if when you show a clip of a room with a wall color you put in some text in stating what color it is. It helps so much visually to see it in a room.
Three years ago I painted my entire, newly purchased condo with the BM Collingwood color except for the bathrooms, where we used the BM Balboa Mist color. It is easy for me to change the colorful accents/prints/pillows in each room to give it an entirely different look. I've received many compliments. But I just may have to try a couple of these beautiful colors. Thanks for the color swatch tip!
I love the wall color behind you with the beautiful side board in front. What's that color? And who makes it? Also, the color of the door in your hallway facing the living room.
Dark and moody! We are finally doing the fun parts of our historic home restoration and I’m looking forward to adding those rich colors with all our beautiful woodwork!
Just completed our basement renovation (rec room/office). I painted every surface BM Witching Hour and am in love with the enveloping feel of the room. Hubbys office walls are BM Simply White with Witching Hour bookshelves. Beautiful contrast. Furnishing with large rust velvet sectional and mixed wood tones (tv wall has slated wood walls). Antique brass and black hardware/fixtures. I am so happy with 2023 color trends. Planning a primary remake with warm rusts/brown walls. Baseboards, crown and ceiling! Thank you for your wonderful content. Very inspiring! ❤
Oh my, it all sounds soooooo beautiful! I'm in love with Witching Hour, it's so cozy and dramatic. It sounds like your home is absolutely dreamy, congrats on the renovation, and good luck with the primary suite redo. I'm in the process of doing ours right now and we're doing a rich mocha brown lime wash on the walls!
I wish designers would concentrate less on trends which could have you repainting your entire home interior every year and more on how to choose paint colors based on aspects of your home that you cannot easily or inexpensively change, such as the colors and tones of wood floors or the colors/tones of your antique furnishings. For example, all the wood floors and furniture in my home are very warm/golden oak. When the trend for years was gray none of the warm or cool undertoned grays worked anywhere in my home.
Currently building a house and I selected my colors the other day. I like Benjamin Moore because Ace Hardware carries the paint and there are stores in so many locations. I chose Edgecomb Gray for the interior walls and Simply White for the trim. Edgecomb Gray is the in between color that can look more beige than gray and just coordinates easily with home furnishings. It also doesn't have a bunch of strong undertones.
We did our house exterior in Kelly Moore’s Nature’s Gate for the body and Wild Truffle for the trim. With our charcoal roof black metal windows and lower brick body exterior it really grounds the house in our treed landscape. We love it.
Ashley would you mind sharing the color of your floor in the video. I really love it as well as what color white is on your walls. I’m helping my son with his small studio in DC and he’s leaning toward remodeling with the light floors such as yours and off white walls. Still u sure in paint colors but this video helps. Working with such a small space makes paint colors a little tricker. Thanks. Love your channel.
I love the dark and moody tones. I'm definitely going to use them in my home this year. I've been crushing on them for the past 2 years and thank you for making my decision easier
This has been very helpful. We have needed professional advice on the color of new flooring. After we removed the carpet, the floor was left as bare concrete for 12 years (since we had no idea how to work with the massive amount of existing tile). That tile is the Satchel color! Now we know what color will work with it. Thanks.
I recently saw a light blue laundry room, silver fixtures and white farmhouse sink and I was totally crushing on it. I don't know if I'm brave enough to do it in my own home though.
I'll be getting the whole interior of my home painted next month and chose a warm neutral for the main walls. Glad I'm spot on with my thoughts...I am really digging first light for my master bath. Thank you for all the helpful tips!
I'm actually in the process of picking a bedroom color. I'm stuck on black or a grey/green blue. I'll be painting my antique dressers is original cream.
I love pastels! I’ve been living in a depression sweater during the gray years, so I was about to ditch you when you trotted out Pale Oak and its friends. However, the warm colors as well as the pastel ones are winners for me. I do love the jewel tones, but I use them as accents. I love soft, warm, cosseting colors because they’re so comfortable and easy to live with.
I just subscribed! I'm so excited for upcoming videos. May I make some video requests? I love the dark and moody paint colors along with the jewel tones and also the neutrals. We are building our permanent family home and I want to incorporate all these paint colors. How can I do so and have everything flow from room to room. For instance, my foyer, lounge, kitchen flow nicely but I want a dark lounge for I have a huge window in there so I think I can afford it to be dark and my kitchen will have 2 large windows, how can I have 2 different colors and have it flow since these 2 rooms dont have doors, they are separated by a wall? Can you also do a home tour?
Thank you and I'd love video requests! We've got loads of room tour videos from my home coming up! How exciting about your new home, it's so fun to build from the ground up and really make every single detail personalized to you and your family. On the paints, I'd for sure use the darker color in the lounge, like you said since it has the large window a dark color would be perfect in there. What I'd do in order to make the spaces flow is take that same color and sprinkle shades of it in the other rooms, you could do this by using a tonal variation of that paint color (same color or a lighter shade) on the kitchen island or portions of the cabinetry. Or you could even use that color in accessories, art or upholstery, just a few touches will do it. What really ties rooms together in a home is color repetition, it doesn't have to be the exact same color, just a variation so that it feels cohesive from room to room, even if the rooms are separated by a wall. I hope this helps and good luck with the new house!
@@ashleychilders thank you so much, that helps a lot. I wanted my cabinets dark so I'll go with the same color as the walls in the lounge and since I'm doing lowers only, I think it'll be fabulous. Yay! Also where do I stop the dark color when I get to the hall that connects to the foyer? It'll look odd if I just stop right? Also, I wanted my primary suite moody and monochromatic (is that the term for the whole room including ceiling, trim doors to be the same?) So if the inside of the primary room door is black, can the other side be the color of the rest of the doors in the house? Goodness, I may just have them black throughout the house. I'm so darn glad I found you! You and house of valentina, my new virtual girls!
I’m about to paint our 2-story foyer, living room & possibly family room Pale Oak! And for our dining room I’m going moody & painting it Urbane Bronze. I’m just undecided on whether to paint whole dining room that color or just the top part above the chair rail. Suggestions?
Great suggestions!❤ I have a conundrum… Our media room has mahogany paneling and a chair rail. What color should I paint the walls? Dark and moody or warm neutral? This room would make an amazing before and after
Thank you for explaining the trends and how to pick paint color. I watched but didn’t see a trend paired with a lot of orange wood. What tone should I do? Neutral ground looks lovely with furnishing but kinda sick next to that orange wood 😢
Loved your paint ideas! I painted our home SW natural tan.We upgraded to 5" baseboards & painted them the same color but satin finish.I love your buffet behind you & the painting. Can you talk about paintings/pictures.Where to buy etc.(p.s. you need to add a plant on your beautiful buffet) Margo
I would love it if you would do a video about exterior paint colors. We are painting our house SW Tempe Star. The trim will be SW Natural Choice. Shutters in SW Iron Ore and front door will be SW Framboise. The primary interior color is BM Titanium.
Umber undertones are one of my fav from Benjamin Moore. I am painting my hall and stairway and is going with the Sandblast from Benjamin Moore this week. I can’t see what it looks like
I like dark and moody but suffer from light effect and get depressed in a dark room. I did paint my bedroom in a beautiful darker color but I sleep there and I don't spend much time in there. I also have blackout cell shades and drapery panels.
I love the warm neutrals and a mix of say one wall, trim or doors of dark and moody. I’m purchasing a home in another state and the seller went with dark and moody but it was a bit too dark for me as the living room has little light. Some pastels have been coming back. I’ve seen a lot of yellow and dark pinks.
I personally like to go a bit on the light side for large, open concept, main living areas and save the dark and moody for more cozy intimate rooms. Congrats on the new house! I'm sure you'll create spaces that are a beautiful refection of your design style.
Thank you for the tips, I bought a house & whole place needs repaint, I've already done half and realize the color is WRONG!! I will get a poster board & follow your advice = THANKS!
I am too old to go for trends. If you have ever been to Drayton Hall outside of Charleston, it was only painted once or twice and that is me 😂. But seriously, l am renovating a FL condo and the designer working with me and l picked out the paint color according to the fabric in each room. We did happen to pick out Fallow& Ball’s Oxford Stone for the den . I guess that is in the 2023 paint trends . The poster board is a good tip.
Sorry I am new to your utube. You probably have given the info out previously, but could I ask what is the blue color you have used for the trim of your outside? Thanks
I have an east facing window in my living/dining room. Is it better to paint with a warm neutral or cool in a low light room? I also have medium wood furniture
Honestly, it's really personal preference! If you gravitate towards warmer colors in your furniture and accessories I'd go warm neutral. If you like more blues and gray tones go cool. Either would be beautiful with wood tones!
Thanks for giving paint names and manufacturers in your videos. It’s so frustrating when I see a color in a decorator video and they don’t give the name!
Painting my home in Pale Oak. I'll be using the pastels in my guest bath and laundry. I'm a little scared...lol I prefer light and airy. What color white trim do you recommend? Thanks!
